More Hits to the Huskies...and Humor!
AllOregon replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This is my current fav from the UW Board: ”Losing on Monday felt like a punch in the gut. DeBoer leaving today felt like a slap in the face. Every player decommitting or hitting the portal feels like a kick in the crotch. It’s like we were in an elevator to the top of the world, about to step out of it on Monday night. Then somebody cut the cable and we’re in freefall.” -
Sources: Washington's DeBoer agrees to become next Alabama coach - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Washington's Kalen DeBoer, who guided the Huskies to a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship game this past season, has agreed to a deal to become the next head coach at...

Good details here. https://www.on3.com/college/alabama-crimson-tide/news/pete-thamel-kalen-deboer-told-washington-hes-likely-to-take-alabama-head-coach-job/

This may be why Deboer leapfrogs Norvell. Bama will not want to be associated with this. Nowhere near it.

Counting Our Duck Blessings from 2023

+ Won the last real Civil War -
My hunch feels Norvell or Sark over Deboer. And it comes down to recruiting. With the news shared today the Bama NIL is not turnkey for the new coach via leaning on Bama and the name Saban basically recruiting itself, it feels they want/need a proven recruiter. Not just high schoolers but portal guys, and a guy to retain existing Bama players. Deboer is not even in the same ballpark as the other 2 despite the wins.

QUAAACK!!! Evan Stewart Commits to Oregon
AllOregon replied to DrJacksPlaidPants's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lots of those catches came from a left handed QB. -
Gold nugget in that Pat McAfee Show video when Pat brought up a discussion last weekend on the GameDay set during a commercial break of the Natty. Herbie brought up to Dan that he’s a top guy to replace Saban when Nick leaves. Dan immediately told them he is staying at Oregon and why. Whether Dan was offered the Bama job/interview or not or if they talked to him while in Houston (and we may never know), it doesn’t matter. He had previously decided Oregon is the place to be.

How about these? Sark or Deboer to Bama or Sark to Bama then Deboer to Texas or Kiffin to Bama and DT Nolan switches to UO I don’t feel Kiffin. Dabo before him.
-
Like I said last night in the other now locked thread, the whole rumor/sources felt like a smokescreen. Bama would not be that sloppy. Byrne is pure stealth. Also, makes sense for Dan to stay.
-
Bama AD said he wants a strong recruiter and relationship builder (checkmark for Lanning) and that is ELITE in X’s and O’s (Dan had some bad misses and error losses). Deboer is the exact opposite. Meh on recruiting, elite on X’s and O’s. Feel Bama wants more of a proven guy in BOTH.

Agreed. Just thinking UO would have had a closer game, yet certainly Michigan is better. -

Michigan just bullied them from the beginning. Never trailed, big final score. I had friends from the Midwest and South texting me how soft UW looked. They were shocked they hadn’t lost several games. And all this with Michigan not playing great on offense. I think they forgot the forward pass was allowed. Certainly play called away from their QB. Oregon was much better equipped to beat Michigan. -

DLine. Hoping the bare miss on Nolan was not the missing ingredient. -

Jericho scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery in today’s All America Game. -
FSU D clearly still cycling through Taggert’s “guys.”
-
Last I checked, Jordan Travis didn’t play Defense. FSU D exposed badly so far. 35 points and still only 2nd quarter. I think even Iowa could score boatloads on these guys.

Why Oregon Needs Their ‘A’ Game for Liberty U.
AllOregon replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Gonna have to do this without both starting corners… -
Also, first Miami coach to lose to Rutgers in 12 tries. He lost this game to a team that completed 7 passes. 7. Ran all over him 45 times. So much for tough line. And he was only missing 1 opt out in the front 7.
