Words for Thought...Sobering but True
AllOregon replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Positives: Less dumb/major penalties than under Mario - much more disciplined there 1 for 1 on field goals Uniforms looked cool It is early, takes time to build a new system. Look at all the hall of fame coaches who struggled early. -
Not new info, but I have been told the coaches definitely had Brown #1 for a reason. Just the prevent offense limited what we do and/or focus as priority downfield. We saw open frustration from receivers even in game, but in the end most quotes seemed to point at scheme rather than AB

Reports 24.5 Million Per Pac 12 Team From ESPN
AllOregon replied to curtisd316's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Time to dump Arizona and bring in San Diego St. Clearly Zona is leaking these reports to their basketball beat writer.for a reason, including the unsubstantiated one of UO and UW requesting higher % shares. Then they leak othey are meeting with big 12 Wednesday. Clearly it is posturing. But nobody else in PAC is yet leaking this stuff (which might mean his sources are garbage or intentionally misleading him to get others to act). Either way, let them go. They bring no value or football pedigree All PAC and current Big12 teams have more avg TV viewers except Beavis and the 2 Kansas schools. Zona, good luck peddling that to get equal shares in Big12, if you are not happy splitting a quarter of a Billion+ per year, when you contribute peanuts to it. They are thinking with their hoops brains maybe, but this is about money, which means football. SDSU is a better add all around, and it is not worth Arizona’s drama anymore. -

Nope. That is over 6 years. Big difference. MWC teams are getting $4M per year from that. -
Beavers to the Big Sky? Is This True?
AllOregon replied to FamilyofDucks's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
BSU is horrible academically and only competes in football, from a lesser league gauntlet. They bring nowhere near the value to share a piece of the pie. Tiny Idaho market and draw. No thanks. If add anything, add San Diego State. It beats BSU in every category. -

That lower initial offer may not be a bad thing RIGHT NOW for UO. Gives them leverage to wait and not sign long term GOR. But also this is a negotiation. Nobody offers best and final, early on. Everyone has been saying they expect it to hit $30M per and stretch hopes were for $40M per. This first pass is easily in line with heading there, and also if you factor in other media $ sources at play, including streaming. As many have said, no way would I want to be in BIG12s shoes… it’s actually laughable that essentially no PAC team but Zona and Beavis were outdrawn by any current Big12 team in avg TV audience since 2015. -

Ducks Talk: Future Still Uncertain for Pac-12, Oregon
AllOregon replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
But sure feels the PAC has leverage over the Big12. Yes a full ~24 team merger was declined, and Big12 reported that first. But perhaps to try and show strength it does not have. They may not want the full Pac (sorry Beavs), but the rest besides Arizona basically outdraws the current Big12 in average TV viewership since 2015. PAC can choose to wait and/or be selective on just top when Big12 realizes it is further behind. Sourced from Mandel: Pac-12's TV numbers indicate its future might not be so dire THEATHLETIC.COM Television numbers indicate the Pac-12 isn't necessarily in a weaker position than the Big 12. -
There are many games of chicken going on, some outside the circle and some within. I currently agree with the sentiment that Oregon has the most options of the PAC, and knows it can wait. “Sources” saying over the weekend that the 4 Corner schools applied to Big12 is another game of chicken to force UO (and likely UW) to sign on now and long term, to not allow the potential B1G decisions either when Notre Dame decides or in 2024. They are trying to imply UO is left with the Pac6 and thus likely Mountain West mergers. But, coupled with the knowledge that the Big12 is not interested in a mass merger with PAC due to the $ not panning out and the measly TV viewership of those 4 Corner schools, it is an easy call of their bluff. In Pac12 TV viewership ratings the last 5 years: Zona, ASU, Colorado, and Utah were rated 11, 9, 8, 7. And Big12 will get the Salt Lake Market anyway when BYU joins. No way they just accept those 4 schools without UO. The $ math does not work. So, UO and UW can play the card that the 2 prior commishes ignored…fair share (unequal) of the worth brought to the conference. It’s why USC and UCLA left and the other PAC schools cannot ignore it. if UO gets the cut they want at low contract year length, great. If not, wait for other options whether it is B1G or other…

Not to worry. I was just at a charity event and talked to who I think is the top recruiting analyst in the country. He said Jurrion is lock solid a Duck, and knows that based on friendships from the inner circle, and that he loves the kid’s talent. -
