  1. Does not appear we have the capability to throw the ball DOWN the field, only sideways or backward...no reason for UNC not to load up against the run
  2. Ducks win 52-24 3 take aways 4 sacks 331 passing yards It'll be Carolina (baby) BLUES for dem Tarheels tonight
  3. These things are always just a copy if THIS year. Next year will look way different in the end, just like the AP and every other poll. Polls should be banned until week 6. At least the playoff committee (and a 12 team playoff) takes some of the early bias out
  4. Huh? I guess he doesn't need the $, has his bachelor's done, probably well into his masters. NIL probably keeps him and his wife supported for now. Remember when Magic Johnson took a big cut to open cap space to make a better team? Unselfish. He had do much endorsement money money it certainly didn't matter.
  5. All 3 specialists were PWOs, they have to know several more will hit the portal, there could be a medical retirement in there...they get to keep scholarships until graduation but doesn't count against the 85. These guys make large salaries so I bet they've thought about it...fun to speculate I guess
  6. John Boyett was also a 3*, and who was the guy he took over for that got injured? He was NFL too I think?
  7. Neon just doesn't fit Boulder. Now if his nickname was "Hemp Birkenstock" it might.
  8. We'll have the talent and star rankings...again. Now, we have to beat OSU, UW, and Utah. Smith, DeBoer, and Whittingham are all fantastic coaches and it shows. Compare us to the beaver's recruiting class...just one 4* and a bunch of 2* with all their 3*. It'll be on our coaches to develop and scheme these players to the level of talent we posses. I'm confident that Lanning and company will do just that. With all the great recruiters on our staff, if we translate that to a lot of wins with NIx for one more season, next year could be the best ever year of 5* and SEC/tOSU level of recruiting like even Crisbal couldn't quite do here (he is doing it in the fertile recruiting hotbed of Florida though, right now) but while Miami will end up 7-5 under MC, a year or two down the road and WE could be the perennial playoff contender for years to come...but it's on the coaches to develop and scheme these kids to that level.
  9. I guess when you shoot negative 15% you end up losing to a junior college?
  10. He is building a roster that could go all the way in coming years
  11. Can't get my cable log in to work 😠 but looks like the 3rd set is off to a great start! GO DUCKS!!!!
  12. Thornton is the biggest surprise to me, but these 11 and perhaps a few more to come will open up spots for Lanning and staff to get the players better fit to their system. I suspect some big flips coming too...build off of strong recruiting classes too, though the portal is going to be huge unless the rules change again. It gives schools a chance to get good fits immediately and bring experience to help bring along the freshman
  13. I guess I would agree...but I suspect Moore battles a transfer for the starting job next fall
  14. UNC may be the only team worse than Oregon in pass defense and lack of QB pressure. If we establish a run game and take advantage of their poor pass D and Nix is healthy, we can be the spread easily. Just a little bit of pressure and we'll do fine. We thought the same against the mutts though too.
  15. As Haywarduck says, we get to go to Seattle and beat him on his own turf.
  16. I bet tOSU gets in for sure. Not sure who is #4...USuC has 2 losses now. LSU upsetting GA would really throw a wrench in all of it 😆
  17. Thoroughly enjoying watching USuC lose. Wonder what coulda been. It'll probably push us down to the Jockey Underwear Jiffy Stain Remover Bowl in Modesto, or the Tampax Tampon Bowl in Tampa, but I think the Crap 12 alliance with that one went away. Don't care, watching the condoms lose is worth it. Stincoln Riley can enjoy the Alamo. Welcome to the B1G and traditional USuC 8-4 seasons
  18. That's my point, Uncle Phil could afford it, would we pay big dollar to keep an OC or DC that obviously could make more as a HC? HC can be a headache...maybe with more $$ they'd be thrilled to just be a coordinator and not have the HC pressures?
  19. I assume the new OC will be someone that can both develop and coach a QB and an offense that might be tailored a bit towards Moore's skill set. A good O line and run game will be to everyone's advantage, and after Moore is the first overall pick in 2026 after our back-to-back Natty's, getting another great QB recruit will be easy. The question will be can we pony up $3M a year to keep the OC?
  20. Putting the true freshman Jordan James #20 in the back field spelled power run up the middle. It worked most of the season, but by the OSU game every defense knew what his presence meant, same as the Cristbal pistol plunge. Every defense knew what was coming. With a 1st and goal at the beaver 5, to run that 3 straight times was idiotic, going for the game win with a pass only on 4th down (failed). Try it once, then use play action to James the next couple downs and have a run to the field side with an RPO or pitch man option, or look for a TE leaking out the back. Something. Dilly's offense in general got more predictable as the season went on. The last few trick plays we tried late in the season all failed. The explosion pass plays, Nix wasn't too bad really. We succeeded a lot due to a great O-line. But yeah I agree the run needs to set it all up. That's a good identity. If this 5 star QB gets here, I hope his passing game is great and we use it...like the fuskies this year, but with much better run-first set-up than the mutts had.
  21. Still ranked #16 and the portal and new OC will make next year much different (every year will be like that now...but a big time QB coming in) and I liked what Canzano said...We finish 9-3 and big boosters are freaking out. OSU finished 9-3 and they are having a Corvallis-wide holiday and parade to celebrate. Keep it in perspective. Lanning will learn and grow, we'll get a top notch OC/QB coach. Defense will improve. Let's go destroy who ever we play in the Zips Underwear Irrelevant Bowl, and finish 10-3. I'll watch.
  22. If they are too picky they'll end up with Holiday bowl type of revenue. It'll be the game for the 4th place team from the Pac vs. the 5th place B1G team. It'll be like a sUCLA home game, 12k people in the stands. Cleanup and security costs should be low...that'll bump the rose bowl profits back up...
