Third Down Defense Musings
I think our success this year will improve recruiting, and kids know about Lanning and Lupoi's success on D. We start filtering in more and more true 5 stars on D, and keep the offensive juggernaut going (no reason to think we won't, curious to see next year with a less experienced O-line) and we will be fine

Garbage Time Reps for Back-Ups Don’t Matter
Good insight David, and I agree. I doubt Nix comes back, but he could have a monster year and Moore could have that one year to grow and learn, and perhaps get more "garbage" minutes, and perform well--hopefully. Thompson was a 5 star too...highest ranked QB in Duck history? Moore will top that, and hopefully...he looks the part. Truth is, Thompson hasn't--yet. So it could be an assumption to say Moore would win the back up spot if Nix returned, or if Nix goes pro, that Moore becomes the first true freshman starter at Oregon in...forever? (Day 1 starter that is...Herbert was like week 5 or 6 I recall?)

Garbage Time Reps for Back-Ups Don’t Matter
At the same time, don't get a starter injured late in a blowout, just for style points...there is a balance there somewhere I suppose

UPDATE: Oregon Offensive Statistics (Historical Comparison)
Chip=best rushing, Helfrich=best passing (and Mariota), Lanning/Dillingham= best efficiency and results!

Lanning: Rope-a-Dope with TT?
If Nix bails after this season (nobody would blame him if he did) then I bet we see the true freshman win the job next fall

Game Day Thread of Other Games (Not Oregon) Nov 5 2022
Tennesseeya...TCU won but B12 beating itself up...good chance they lose at least one, may be all we need, especially if they loss the B12 C.G. and a 2 lose team takes the conference. Clemson...lose! I don't care for Notre Dumb but rooting for them today. Mutts should be ranked when we play them, and if little brother wins next 2 they should be too. We can beat 3 ranked teams next 3 weeks. Geaux Tigers!!! Lose Bama, lose!!!

GameDay Thread versus Colorado: Join Us!
I will be honest, on the road we seem to underperform. Last weekend this week it seems like we should be having an easier time against teams like this if we are really number 8. I'm really not worried about Washington or Utah at home, I am a little nervous about Corvallis and then assuming we make it a neutral site game for the pack 12 championship. The 2 picks are sweet, especially for Gonzalez, but we still give up too may passing yards. Maybe the clock management and middle 8 and cover 2 work so far, but USuC makes me nervous the way we don't get a lot of sacks, and give up pass plays. Go Ducks 💚💛

OBD Prediction Contest vs. Colorado!
Oregon, 66-0, 4 take aways, 5 sacks, 388 passing yards

Where is Seven McGee?
Wasn't 7 the one Lanning convinced to stay? I thought at least he'd be a punt or KO returner with his supposed speed. Maybe his hands are an issue? I don't know but I've only seen him get a few catches this season.

So much for my score prediction. So much for 2 high safeties preventing the long ball. So much for our explosive offense. Hopefully we'll get it rolling now.

What ABOUT Some Recruiting Flips?
Winners wanna play for winners...I can see some 5* O Line flips, or maybe more important...5* D lineman, and lock down 5* corner. We are loaded at RB and have perhaps the best 5* in the country coming in at QB already. I think we are fine at WR too. ILB to replace Noah...assuming Flowe needs another season to develop before thinking he is NFL ready. He and Noah are different types of players anyhow.

LA Times Columnist: Pac-12, Big 12 Punishing USC, Texas?
A lot of us have whined about Crap 12 refs/umpires etc. for years, and the Conference even addressed it, admitting we had some less than D-1 level crews. In the sUCLA game, I don't think I screamed at the TV once because of officiating. A lot of screaming due to all our TD's, but not the refs. That was a first. 14-0 disparity in the TX-OSU game is interesting though. I do think USuC fans are generally big whiners though.

We're losing discipline late, it's all but over but still...

GameDay Thread versus UCLA: Join Us!
It'll be a nice win, but it feels like the D gives up too much still. In a playoff level game I don't think we can "bend" that much.
