  1. Shows how Oregon gives coaches a great opportunity to win. Grass isn’t always greener…
  2. Hopefully his reasons for “scooting” are different from dogs and cats.
  3. Lanning addressed this saying not calling a timeout was a mistake. UW’s defensive formation in that play gave UW an advantage. He said he should have called a timeout and run a different play.
  4. I’m curious what the community thinks. More effort? Coaching adjustments? Limits of Utah’s offense (don’t have the weapons to attack our weaknesses)? Good for the defense but is this a one off that can’t be reproduced?
  5. You were not alone in this. I’ll watch today’s game on tape later tonight or tomorrow. Not in the mood to watch a beat down if TT is QB.
  6. This is one of those games that I may not watch live if TT starts. I don’t want to watch us get crushed three Utah games in a row. Hoping my pessimism is not well founded. My last negative post on TT, moderators. I’m sure many forum members are anxious about Nix’s status and no need to “beat a dead horse” as the old saying goes.
  7. Sigh. Hope I’m wrong but I have zero confidence in TT. Let’s hope Nix can play.
  8. I agree. That and the cutesy goal line formation. Everything else I can live with.
  9. If he gets good feedback about his draft, why wait? Oregon’s O-line is special this year, next year…who knows. He’s also an older player and needs to get into the NFL soon.
  10. These losses happen when a team is all offense and no defense. Look at what happened to UCLA last night, a loss that makes ours look "good" (we, at least, lost to a top-25 team). Let’s hope Lanning and crew can recruit some DL studs for next year. Our current defense is as good as they can get without better players.
  11. Our defensive line is the weakness of this team. Penix had a huge pocket all night. Nix, not so much. On offense, 71 (right tackle) was beaten consistently.
  12. The QB run was way too predictable and that gave the WA defense a shot at Nix. Lot of mistakes by the coaching staff today. As one announcer said “Oregon is playing like they are at an away game.” Our defense sucks and with them we just aren’t good enough. Penix had the arm skills to expose us, badly. We aren’t a top 10 team when we don’t have a lead and make the other team one-dimensional. Now play hard for the Rose Bowl.
  13. Canzano: Washington derails Oregon Ducks WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Huskies upset Oregon at Autzen Stadium.
  14. Who thought we’d be this good so early in his career. He’s got a learning curve, too. Still a damn good coach. Hate losing to Husky’s though. There is a reason why no team has won nine straight PAC-12 conference games. The mistake was scheduling Georgia in essence at home. Without that we’d still be in the running. No more hard non-conference games.
  15. He’s still a new head coach who has a lot to learn. Still glad to have him. Nix getting injured was the turning point.
  16. I wonder how much the defensive drop off of the reserves factor into this. We often hold opposing offenses down until the subs come in. Look at UCLA which scored two (?) times in garbage time. It seems our defensive starters are pretty solid. Also, our scoring against good defenses has changed for the better as the season has progressed.
  17. Yeah. I work with people who are struggling and the backstories are always complex in ways impossible to see from the outside.
  18. Great article. I’ll be looking for this as I watch games.
