You are definitely not alone. Good thing my TV is deaf. 🙉

Saturday Ramblings
These findings are always based upon initial conditions and are by nature probabilistic. When the initial conditions aren’t matched, then you are guessing. Game time decisions are especially fraught given the ever changing circumstances. Lot harder than the relatively static art of scouting.

PAC 12 TITLE GAME
Probably a lot but I don’t care. Bye bye USC. ❤️

Oh, But Oregon's Season...for ONE Boneheaded Play-Call
Well, remember we beat Utah and their defense with a hobbled QB. I think our chances would have been pretty good against USC.

I Apologize For Being Negative, But Crepea Says Exactly What I Feel and 9 and 3 was Absolutely Nothing Positive
Playoffs->Championship->meaningless bowl game. Really painful.

Caleb Presley, Oregon CB Commit, Visiting Washington
WA is up and will continue to improve. Watch the Transfer Portal and see if we go after CBs. That will be a tell.

Bo Nix A First Rounder?
I hope he goes in the first round but don’t know if one year of high quality play will offset set perceptions of him as player.

An Unpopular Opinion
One of those rare topics that I agree with every post, pro and con because this topic is about our emotions, not "rationality." I’ve been an Oregon fan for a long time, from before they became a football powerhouse. For me the Washington loss was painful but the Oregon State game was excruciating. Not who we lost to but how. I knew we were in trouble when we got up by a nearly insurmountable lead (ESPN win percentage was over 99%) and some Oregon players started yapping at the OSU players thinking the game was over and stopped putting out the effort needed to win in football. This game showed Oregon’s continuing weakness of arrogance and entitlement and what happens when that meets toughness, skill, and perseverance. Kudos to Smith and his team which has taken on his mental toughness and savvy. I’m in the "I’m not going to watch category," having seen "us" go from playoffs, to conference championship, to meaningless bowl game. I’ve seen this too often and don’t need to see it again. This is an emotional decision, not a "rational" decision (which largely doesn’t exist, thank goodness, since in human behavior short term "rational" behavior is often the realm of the sociopaths). Enjoy the game, those who wish to watch. I’m going to spend that time getting my continuing education credits for the year, a manifestly rational use of my time 😊.

Dilly's ASU Decision was Rash....Like His Coaching?
“Life changing money” is true as far as it goes but a long successful career is also important. Going to a dream job and being fired in a few years in a disaster can harm a career. Unless he is okay with retirement at 35… I think he would have been well served to wait a bit.

Dazed’s New OC Candidate List for the Oregon Ducks
Good article. Thanks.

Ducks in Disarray Again?
I wonder how much depth, injury, and fatigue had to do with results. Almost all points were scored in 4th quarter. Lanning keeps injuries secret so we have no idea how banged up is/was the defense.

Interesting Similarities Between Lanning and...
@Coach Eric Boles. I’d love to see an analysis of the last three games by someone who has the training and skill to tell us "what the ‘blank’ just happened?"

Does Junior Adams Deserve a Promotion?
It seems that a lot of OCs would see Oregon as a good home. Especially if Moore ends up coming here.

I am a Blockhead, a Bumbling Buffoon...or am I Brilliant?
I, too, thought or defense would be elite. It was adequate when Nix was healthy and Dillingham was not distracted, but not a part of the team that was "good enough" when the offense struggled.
-
Dillingham No Longer a Duck!
I wonder what impact his coaching move had on team, especially in these last three crucial games. Now we’ll see if top offensive recruits still come to Oregon. Disappointing year, at least for me.

Who Wants to See Oregon in the PAC 12 Championship?
Glad WA State lost. With all of Oregon’s injuries the championship would be another heartbreaking loss and after this game I wouldn’t watch anyway. Two awful losses in one year is enough.

Thud.
Amen. Heart wrenching loss. First time I’ve really doubted our coaches.

Three Words to Describe This Game?
But just barely

We've Gone From Risk Adverse Mario To Lanning's High-Wire Act Without A Net
Taking gambles with a healthy offense is one thing but with line and QB playing at 50%…gotta change your approach. Oregon had every chance to win but couldn’t punch it in at the end. Just terrible. Defensive coaches need to go.
-
I Have Serious Concerns About the Coaches
This is the type of loss that gets coaches fired. Not saying we should fire Lanning (if this was his 3rd+ season then I’d say that) but Oregon’s defensive coaches have to go. If you don’t have the players to play your scheme, then play a scheme where they can succeed.

Ascribing Credit and Blame
I had the pleasure of playing 8-man high school football in Montana for a small town called Arlee nearly 50 years ago. That football isn’t nearly as sophisticated and as physical as today’s football (I was the starting center at 150#, 😂) but it was a great experience. One of the aspects of Lanning’s coaching that I admire is that he makes playing Oregon fun for the players, recreating the joys for his players I experienced when I played.

Oregon Ducks Football: New Rivalry Game Name
The name change is a done deal, whether you think it was a good idea or not, I respect either view (as long as you don’t troll those who disagree with you with terms like "woke"). What we all can agree on is that we should have had a new name by now and the administrations of both the Ducks and Beavs have been kicking the can down the road to avoid controversy. That is a failed strategy.

Oregon Ducks Football: New Rivalry Game Name
This thread is rapidly veering into politics (the whole "woke meme" is a favorite of the right and only the right) and shut down. @Charles Fischer
