  1. We know that different teams would want Stein to be their HC. What we don't know is what Stein wants. Before DL came to Oregon, he definitely wanted to be a HC. He even had his notebook of hot young coaches that he wanted to recruit to join him. One of the things that he said when he got here is that he didn't want to take just any head coaching job. He wanted to go someplace where he could win a national championship. He didn't want a stepping stone. He wanted a destination. He wanted a place where he could settle down and raise his family. He didn't want to be moving them around every few years. His actions over the last 3+ years have proven that this was his intent. DL stated that he was willing to stay at Georgia until this type of job opened up for him. Then the Oregon job came open. I wouldn't be surprised if DL called up Oregon and told them he wanted to apply for the job. Dillingham wanted to eventually be the HC at ASU. That is why he left after only one year at Oregon. If it wasn't for the fact that ASU came calling three years ago, Dillingham might still be a Duck. Back to Stein. What does he want? Does he want to take just any P4 job? or does he want to go where there is enough support, or at least the possibility of drumming up enough support, for competing at the highest level? What I'm saying is that Stein might want to stay at Oregon until the right job opens up, not just any job. He has a pretty good job now. Maybe he wants to slip on a championship ring before he leaves. That would get him some really good job offers... and it might not be a very long wait. So, I am not going to worry or even think about Stein leaving until it happens. Rumors will always fly. I don't need to get caught up in them. When/If Stein leaves, I trust DL will find an adequate replacement, hopefully someone who will also be as successful leading the QB room.
  2. A little BIG to fit on the bus....
  3. "Kenny Wheaton's gonna pour! Kenny Wheaton's gonna pour!" What a well written ad!
  4. "Is Kenyon Sadiq still the favorite to be the superfreak of the offense?" Can't the elite teams have more that one superfreak???
  5. Last year, Oregon was the number one team in the nation for a good number of weeks until they weren't. This year's blitz of points brings to mind the Oregon Women's BB team's motto during the 2020 campaign... "Leave No Doubt." Maybe that is the answer. Maybe DL wants to "Leave No Doubt" as to who is the best team and where the Ducks stand among the elite teams across the nation. Maybe we will not be the best team at the end of the season, but no one will doubt how good and dominant they are. This was one of the frustrations we had with Mari-- Cristobal. He seemed to WANT to win by less than a touchdown. When you flirt with one score games too often, you are bound to lose some that you shouldn't. (Take a knee!!!) Don't let up until the game is truly over! That doesn't mean that you wait to put in more back-ups... especially when there are so many 1a/1b/1c situations! (Aren't we blessed??)
  6. Laughing out LOUD!!!! Great play! Great execution!
  7. Oregon 52-13 2 TO 5 Sacks 315 yds passing
  8. How good is he at blocking??? Maybe he is so good at running that the previous two years he was utilized so much in spite of lack of development in that area??? I actually assume he knows how to block, but the fact is, I don't know.
  9. What I'm wondering about is... How will a bad year affect the current recruiting class? Oregon and Alabama are "tied" with 5 - 5*s apiece. If DL can flip one of those 5*s, Oregon will be in undisputed first place for them. How much in a twist would THAT put the Alabama fans in?????
  10. Maybe I could get excited about this, but it's hard to for me to get excited about something so high that I can't even see it.
  11. I am replying on Chrome. Thank you to the techs!
  12. Bummer! This must mean I failed the test. I responded when I didn't have to. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
  13. I totally agree with this assessment. QB1 can go down on the first snap. How many snaps would you want QB2 to have had then?? Like everyone else here, I trust the coaches to spread the snaps around with all the variables taken into account.
  14. I feel your pain. I haven't gotten involved in any of the Sanders discussions because, quite frankly, they don't interest me. I do think it is possible, when these articles come out, to only discuss how DG is doing. The QB competition will all come out in the wash, and at least one of the two will make the 53 man roster.
  15. "No" to retiring any number. If we retire Mariota's number there are a couple others in the history of the Ducks we should retire. There are only 10 single digit numbers available, 0-9, and they are highly coveted by the players. What are we going to do after we retire half of them??? Ducks sports is just beginning to take off. There will be a lot more worthy "retirees" in the future. Let's just keep it simple.
  16. And that should always be the goal... at every position. The better you recruit, and the better you develop, the less you will need to pick from the portal.
