  1. This is good. It makes athletes think hard before jumping to another school. If they choose the wrong school out of high school, they get a Mulligan. If they choose wrong a second time, it's on them.
  2. This was the screensaver on my home computer....guess I have to change it! You don't have to... Cam will always be a good memory.
  3. Agreeing with both you and Annie here... except for the NIL part. He has every reason to be 100% loyal to Oregon (totally agreeing with Charles)... AND it seems like he got a good number of snaps last year. Since a couple of TEs have already hit the road, you would think that he would probably get snaps next year. I doubt that another school would want him so bad as to illegally poach him AND offer him a SIGNIFICANT amount more than what he could get at Oregon. So, what are we left with? Hmmmm. We don't know. It's very possible that he is being unselfish and wanted to make room for DL to build the team he wants... or maybe he asked his position coach what the future held. Maybe he left because somewhere else he could get a lot more snaps and improve his NFL chances more. I'm not going to judge the guy because we just don't know (and that's where I agree with Annie).
  4. Good to see 6 Pac 12 teams in the top 25. That's a lot more respect than we have been given lately. If those who shall not be mentioned would have stuck it out, our media rights deal would be a lot more than what it was looking like a year ago. Two teams in the top 10; four teams in the top 15??? That's pretty good. SEC has 3 in the top 10 and still only 3 in the top 15. OOOoooo, the PAC has more teams in the top 15 than the SEC does. The B1G has the same, 3 in the top 10 and only 3 in the top 15.
  5. Oregon didn't lose to Georgia by this much. Hmmmm. Go Ducks!!!!
  6. Seems like we are totally in the dark as to how we are going to put so many guys on the team and still hold the total scholarships to 85. We keep guessing, but I think we are probably going to have to stay tuned to see how it all comes out in the end. I'm guessing that DL and the brain trust have at least some things figured out.
  7. Let's give them one more year.... and THEN kick them out.
  8. I laughed out loud twice... but this from July was my favorite: Beavers football coach Jonathan Smith is asked about his expectations for the season. He says: “We expect to win them all.” Nobody laughs. He isn’t joking. My second LOL was from November: Academics on campus aren’t happy but it’s quickly pointed out that nobody buys a $50 ticket to attend a Stanford lecture. Says one of the academics: “True, but nobody buys a $50 ticket to attend a Stanford football game either.”
  9. "Look, I can be oblivious at times, but I am not crazy; of course you take the chance on a scholarship with Harbor..." I think you answered your own question here. Wasn't Devon Allen injured on a kick off return? The first one of the game, which took him out of it... alas!
  10. In Bowls so far, the B1G is 4-2, the PAC12 is 3-2, and the SEC is 4-5.
  11. Pretty impressive. Grows confidence in DL and company's ability to assess the capabilities of the various athletes that they want to invite to Oregon.
  12. Root for Washington to win, but to look bad doing it.
  13. Root for what is good for Oregon. What's better for the PAC is good for Oregon.
  14. I have been figuring that in the first AP poll preseason in the summer that the PAC 12 would have 2 teams in the top 10 and maybe 3... with 5 or 6 in the top 25.
  15. Muddying the waters for another couple of years is the 2020 COVID extra year of eligibility. At the time it created a lot of questions, and those questions remain for at least 4 years after. If I am remember correctly (something I can never guarantee), they were talking about a temporary increase in the number of scholarships over the 85 limit. It would only count for those seniors who were playing their 5th year. For example, if there are 3 seniors who will be playing their 5th year (because of the COVID extra year of eligibility), the the 85 number would be increased to 88 for that year only. The following year, 2024, if there are 7 seniors who will be playing their 5th year, for that year only, the 85 will be increased to 92 for that year only. As I said, I do not know for sure if I am remembering correctly... but that is what I think I understood at the time. Listening to all the arguments for and against, it seems to make sense. What I am saying is that this might be a factor. Does anyone else know anything about this?????
  16. If he stays on his feet, the guy is definitely going to be in the hall of fame. They are already gathering his stuff.
  17. This is one reason why we should be rooting for the PAC. It makes a difference in the national perception.
  18. I think this is a good move for DJ. Jonathan Smith can help him. The only downside is maybe an awkward family vibe, especially during CW week. Little Brother playing for Big Brother taking down Big Brother playing for Little Brother...
  19. I agree with this... However, do to my vast lack of experience and knowledge, I would prefer not to take him at this time. Since I also root for the Beavs and Jonathan Smith, I wouldn't mind him going to Cornvalley. His team would be a rival to his brother's team, but they would be close enough to visit whenever they wanted.
  20. in or out, it will not destroy my joy for all of today's signings.
  21. Totally awesome class so far! I am 100% with Savagefund (above). I am especially happy with Uiagalelei and Novosad. Really relieved to have another good QB in the fold.
  22. What I am hoping is that TT hasn't already begun to doubt himself. That seems to be what happened to Tyler Shough. Hopefully Will Stein can turn his head around and make him a leader of Oregon men.
