Nobody is Talking About the Ducks. Is That Good or Bad?
I’m personally glad that they aren’t talking about the Ducks because it wouldn’t be positive right now.

No Doubt About it the Game Against Boise State is Huge for Oregon
Unless Oregon loses a couple of games…

Husky Fans May Still be Sleepless in Seattle
Idaho played disciplined and fundamentally sound football against the Ducks. Credit to their coaches. However, Idaho has a roster full of 2-3 star recruits. Oregon should have been able to line up in base packages and beat them easily, if Oregon played a clean game. Some of Coach Lanning’s in-game coaching decisions (e.g., fake punt) also may have made the final outcome closer than necessary.

Oregon Ducks Football: Who Needs a BIG Week Two?
I hope you’re right (you know much more about offensive line than I do). I have no concerns about our offensive tackles. They are proven players and will clean up the penalties. I’m more concerned with the interior offensive line and Oregon’s inability to replace one starter. Where is the depth?

Good D for Oregon Will Not be Enough to Beat Boise State
I thought Oregon’s defense played really well against Idaho with the exception of the two scoring drives (one was on a trick play). Oregon’s defensive line wrecked havoc and should be the strength of the team this year. Boise State will test our rushing defense. I’m much more concerned with Oregon’s offense, especially the offensive line.

I don’t mind for the first game, as a way to work out the kinks. How many FBS teams would Oregon have beaten with the way they played on Saturday?

Oregon Moves Down to No. 9
Can't disagree with this. Oregon is lucky to be still ranked in the top 10 after that stinker of a performance.

What Will It Take To Make The Next Big Step?
Oregon needs to recruit and develop depth, the coaches need to prepare the players better to show up and execute every single game and our offense needs to stretch the field vertically. For all we heard about depth (including the last episode of "That Team Out West"), it sure didn't show up on the offensive line vs. Idaho. How are we not able to replace one starter on offensive line against a FCS (Division I-AA school)? Josh Pate said that Kirby Smart would never have let his team shown up unprepared, like Oregon's did this past weekend. Perhaps the team was reading too much of their press clippings. If you listen to Coach Smart, you'd think that the media is against the team and they are underdogs every game (even when they are the consensus and undisputed #1 team). He creates a chip on his team’s shoulder (even manufactures one). Perhaps it's the weakness on the offensive line but Oregon will not be able to win the big games against the best teams without a more vertical passing attack. Teams like Ohio State, Michigan, et al will press the line of scrimmage unless Oregon shows it can beat them vertically. Does Coach Stein have counters like we used to see from Kelly/Helfrich (fake WR screens)?

UW's OOC: Weber State Eastern Washington Washington State UO's OOC: Idaho Boise State Oregon State Sure we can: Washington is playing 2 FCS (Division I-AA) schools OOC; Oregon played one. Oregon's SOS is ranked higher by most (e.g., College Football News, Power Rankings Guru, SI).

UW has decided to copy the SEC scheduling philosophy.

Did Bo Nix Make Our Past O-lines Look Better Than They Really Were?
My biggest concern is that Oregon may see a bit of a drop off of offensive line play now that we are turning over the Mario Cristobal’s offensive linemen. Say what you will about MC but he is a heck of an offensive line evaluator, recruiter and coach. Excluding transfers, how has Oregon’s recruitment been of blue chip high school offensive lineman? I know that we have signed a few elite tackles but what about guards.

Look at the Bright Side With This Game...
LOL. In his post game press conference, Coach Lanning was asked what was said in the locker room following the game and he basically said that he wanted to keep it in the room.

Look at the Bright Side With This Game...
Well that is a pretty high bar, especially after game 1. Bo Nix was a top 12 pick in last year’s NFL draft, set the single season college completion % record and is the starting QB for the Denver Broncos. Perhaps we should all (including myself) lower our expectations a tad… DG is a VERY good college QB, who has proven he can put up points, win a big game in the 4th quarter and should be able to lead a high scoring Oregon offense, if we can improve the offensive line play.

Hats Off to the Idaho Vandals
They played fundamentally sound football and should do very well this season. However, they had no business being in that game.

Look at the Bright Side With This Game...
Dillon Gabriel is a much better runner than Dante Moore, who is more of a pocket passer. I’m surprised that DG didn’t scramble on that play that you mentioned but perhaps our coaches are trying to protect his health, as he’s not the biggest QB and was injured last season, or he is working on his pocket passing this season.

Look at the Bright Side With This Game...
Perhaps that’s because he didn’t have confidence in the O-line? That was the worst offensive line play I’ve seen at Oregon in many years…
-
I Only Have One Word for This Game...
Uninspiring. Oregon didn’t come ready to play. Terrible offensive line play, penalties and our offense couldn’t capitalize in the red zone. The defense was good with the exception of two drives.

Look at the Bright Side With This Game...
He was covering on the pass that the Idaho receiver dropped. The announcers were saying it should have been an offensive PI since the receiver shoved him.

GameDay Thread versus Idaho: Join Us!
If Oregon survives, I would drop them to the bottom of the top 10 (8-9?) and, if they lose, I would place them in the 20s.

GameDay Thread versus Idaho: Join Us!
I would probably take Boise State and the points right now. Oregon looks vastly over-rated.

GameDay Thread versus Idaho: Join Us!
Oline has been disappointing. They are looking better right now and our RBs are starting to run with more authority.
