UC Regents Okay UCLA to B1G
It will be really interesting to hear how much UCLA will be paying CAL every year. The UC regents haven't decided how often UCLA is to pay CAL. UCLA also said they will be spending an additional 11-12 mil per year on athletes with this move. So, add another 10 mil per year for CAL, that is 21-22 mil per year. Hope it is worth it. Love how UCLA AD said they won't be playing Rutgers every week, so in the grand scheme of things it isn't that much. Nearly all of the B1G TEN schools are more than double the distance than all but UW. Sorry, but UCLA AD is a dope thinking it isn't all that much. Flight time/flight miles I used the same flight calculator, so I have no idea why it would have some place closer have longer flight times, but it gives the jist of the differences. Troy Taylor is the New Stanford Coach
I have seen the admission data for Stanford and they do let in kids with less than perfect SAT scores and 4.0 GPA's. I'll give them they are most selective in choosing their student athletes, but they need to stop crying about the limited pool of athletes. They can get kids if they worked hard enough in recruiting and in the portal. None of Stanford's other sports seem to have a problem. Granted, 85 scholarships is harder to fill than say a basketball team worth of scholarships.

Anyone Else Have "Doubts About Deion?"
Jackson St. was in a bad conference. They could have played in the FCS playoffs, but they chose to play in the Celebration Bowl, because it was more money than playing in the playoffs. I read another article where they were saying Jackson St. wouldn't have been a high seed, even though they were undefeated. They played one of the easiest FCS schedules and that is why they ended up undefeated. Jackson St. had seven 4 or 5 star athletes. That is more than enough to win a lot of games in the FCS league. We shall see if Deion can win when he doesn't have better talent than the other team.

Portal Gates Opened by a Bo Nix Return?
Traeshon Holden has played 2 seasons at Alabama. He has 570 total yards after both seasons. Not sure he is all that great of a WR. He was 5th in receptions and 4th in yards on a team that was mediocre at WR this year. I don't think these guys looking at Oregon is because Bo is coming back, but I know just as much as the next guy about player movement.

Will the Transfer Portal Save Oregon Ducks Football?
The Ducks have not lost any huge contributors this year. Flowe, I think, is the biggest contributor to leave this season. He had a total of 5 tackles in all of November. There are some big contributors that leave in the portal, but I'd say for the most part 80-90%% of the players in the portal were fringe players. Let the fringe players find a better place for themselves. I'm not going to worry over those players moving around the portal.

Transfer Portal vs. HS Recruiting
That is an interesting idea and I'm sure some schools will probably focus more on the portal over high school recruits. My thoughts are, not to only go the portal route. I know it wouldn't be all kids turning over every year, but not having Freshman learn the system would seem to increase growing pains every year. The new guys might have proven themselves in college, but most likely in a different system.

In Case You Didn't Know - OSU Bowl Game Rescheduled
The Pac 12 needs to get better bowls or have them change the dates of the Vegas Bowl and the LA/Jimmy Kimbel bowl. The Pac 12 have two bowl games that start before the early signing period as 2002duck mentioned. This is the time coaches need to make sure their recruits stay with them. Not try to focus on winning a bowl game and keep recruits. The ACC has 1 and the SEC also has 1 bowl game before the early signing period. The Big 12 has 1 bowl game the day after. The ACC/SEC play each other 2 days after. I feel this schedule hurts the Pac 12 in recruiting. December 17th has 6 bowl games. The most of any day, silly to compete with that. December 31st has only 1 bowl game. 2022–23 NCAA football bowl games - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG

What Makes a Game Meaningful?
It is crazy that the bowl system is a money maker for people outside of the NCAA. Unless, a team is going to a bowl game for the first time and sell a lot of tickets, lesser bowl games are money losers for teams. Remember the conference splits the bowl payout. Bowls require teams to buy a certain amount of tickets and are on the hook for unsold tickets.

Transfer Portal: A Listing of Ducks Who Have Entered
Most of the guys transferring out of Oregon were not getting a lot of playing time. Yes, it stinks we won't have them for the bowl game or have them there for continuation, but if they don't fit the system, they don't fit the system.

Deion is Stirring it Up in Colorado
