  1. I suppose they could be throwing the Pac 12 a bone, but one game doesn't help the conference. The only way ESPN helps the conference is by agreeing to having a certain number of games during prime time or other non after dark games. I get the Pac 12 is the only P5 conference for those late night games, but balance it out by putting on Pac 12 games during the day. If it isn't in the contract, I'm certainly not going to take ESPN's word for "helping" the Pac 12.
  2. Recent Wisconsin WR decommit now overwhelmingly favored to land with Oregon SPORTS.YAHOO.COM The Ducks could be in line to add another WR to the 2023 class after a recent de-commitment from Wisconsin.
  3. Sweet, smart move by Fox.
  4. Oregon 59-24 2 TO 3 sacks 257 passing yards

  6. Pac-12 basketball preview: Power ranking the head coaches SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM Two years removed from the Final Four, UCLA's Mick Cronin tops the list of Pac-12 coaches. But Tommy Lloyd and Dana Altman are on his tail.
  7. Expanding to just expand won't help the Pac 12 financially. We need schools who would help the bottom line or at the very least not hurt it. IMO, only SDST won't hurt the bottom line. All the other schools don't move the football TV needle, which is a huge part of where the TV money comes from. SMU is in Dallas, but nobody watches their football games.
  8. According to this site, MSU isn't giving out really rich NIL deals. College Football NIL Rankings WWW.ON3.COM A ranking of College Football recruits. These rankings are based on the potential influence they have as an individual.
  9. I guess if NIL gives him huge money, but kids also like winning and playing in "their" offense. Mel Tucker is a so-so coach. He went 5-7 his 1 year at Colorado, 2-5 during covid, 11-2 last year and 3-5 this year. I don't see MSU doing better than 2-2 to finish the year. If money means more than winning and NFL draft stock, have at it. I don't think Moore is even entertaining the thought, unless there is life changing money.
  10. These are 18-22 year old kids. Smart is a great coach, but even he can't get the kids dialed in 100% of the time against inferior opponents. I have no doubt Smart is going to have his team dialed in against Tennessee. Tennessee got to play Alabama at home and came out with a 3 point win on a last second FG. Alabama is still a great football team, but they appear to be shadows of themselves this season. I think UGA smokes Tennessee. UGA is -8. I think they cover that with ease.
  11. Yeah, dividing up TV money will be interesting to see. I wonder if Gonzaga will miss out on 100% of football TV money, but maybe they get a deal where they take home a bigger percentage of March Madness Money? I think it makes sense to have different leagues for football and basketball and then the rest of sports. It won't ever happen because of money, but it would make the most sense.
  12. Pac-12 hoops roundtable: Debating the biggest questions entering the 2022-23 season SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM The 2022-23 college basketball season is almost upon us, so we answer the Pac-12's biggest questions heading into the year.
  13. Oregon football: Week 10 games can impact Ducks CFP hopes AUTZENZOO.COM Oregon football is in a prime position to finish the season within the top four of the College Football Playoff rankings, and this week's games can impact ...
  14. If there are 4 P5 undefeated champs, I don't see any reason to put in a 12-1 Pac 12 team. A 12-1 USC lost on the road by a single point to a very good Utah team, is much easier to talk away than a 49-3 loss. My personal preference is to go 13-1 and winning the Rose Bowl. Likely finishing #3 or 4 in the final poll. Although that reduces the conference payout by 2 mil. Each conference receives $6 million from the College Football Playoff for each team selected for a semifinal game and $4 million for each team that plays in a non-playoff bowl under the College Football Playoff. There is no additional payout for the National Championship Game, only additional expenses covered.
  15. Correct, the state of Oregon is not showing the Charges game on Fox.
  16. Here is a spreadsheet I created for the most talked about colleges rumored to be on the list to join the Pac 12. San Diego State doesn't have the best TV numbers, but I have a feeling if they joined the Pac 12, those would jump because they did join the Pac 12. They have the highest alumni base and 2nd best TV market size. They have the largest undergraduate population. 17. Washington would likely be ranked if they beat the Beavers, but with both teams at 6-2 and the Beavers already ranked, it would be a better eye test win for the Beavers to keep winning. No P5 undefeated conference champion better be left out. Only 2 maybe 3 more years at 4 teams. I doubt there will be 5 undefeated teams at the end of the season in the next 2 or 3 years.
  18. Fox is only showing 1 game this Sunday and it is the late game. Seattle vs Arizona. CBS has 2 games. Bills vs Jets and then Rams vs Tampa Bay. 506 Sports - NFL Maps: Week 9, 2022 506SPORTS.COM
  19. Gold: What first CFP rankings mean for Pac-12 path ahead SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM The Pac-12 has a narrow path toward a College Football Playoffs berth, but about 10 things would have to break its way. Don't count on it.
  20. Picking the Pac – College Wire staff makes Week 10 selections DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The College Wire staff continues to Pick the Pac and the standings are getting tighter and tighter.
  21. Winning a game does need to mean something, but Tulane's win over KSU doesn't mean Tulane has to be ranked over KSU. Final score was 17-10. Especially, in a 1 score game. That is Tulane's only win over a P5 team. KSU has 5 wins over P5 teams. Tulane lost to Southern Miss. Head to head really only works when both teams are in the same conference and even then, the winner isn't always considered the better team. Did Stanford deserve to be ranked over Oregon last year? Did Oregon deserve to be ranked ahead of tOSU at the end of the season? It isn't always easy to say if team A beat team B, then team A has to be ranked higher.
  22. Yep, need to root for the team to give the Ducks the best strength of schedule. OSU is ranked and UW is not, go Beavers.
  23. Here is the TV map for NFL football this week. 506 Sports - NFL Maps: Week 9, 2022 506SPORTS.COM
  24. I was listening to Canzano on the radio the other day talking to a former Fox Sports TV contract guy and he said the only way the Pac 12 surpasses the B1G TEN is getting a 2nd contract in before the B1G TEN. It would only be for 1 year the Pac 12 passes the B1G TEN. Once the B1G TEN signs their new contract, then the Pac 12 would fall behind again.
