  1. I don't see the Bo Nix staying another year raising his NFL stock significantly higher. Bo is turning 23 in February. That isn't exactly old, but by NFL standards that is really close to middle age. As others have mentioned, our OL will have significant changes. Bo is #2 in CFB with completion rate of 73%. Tied with Drake Maye at 39 TDs for #1 in CFB. I can't think Bo will better those numbers next year. I feel all he could do is drop his NFL stock.
  2. What's new with Washington since Oregon last played the Huskies? DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A new coach and a new QB. The Huskies are a potentially dangerous team heading into Saturday’s rivalry game against the Ducks
  3. Washington Huskies Opponent Preview: Week 10 - Oregon PACIFICNWSPORTS.COM Saturday, the Washington Huskies travel to Eugene for their biggest game of the year as they take on the 6th-ranked Oregon Ducks.
  4. Oregon has covered each of the last 13 games vs. Washington in which the Ducks were favored, a streak that dates back to 2004.
  5. It will be a great debate if Tennessee and Oregon win out and if they are fighting for 1 spot. Tennessee will have played against LSU, Alabama, UGA and maybe Kentucky ranked in the final CFP. Ducks will have played against UCLA, Utah, the Pac 12 champ game and maybe OSU/UW ranked in the final CFP. Oregon's opponents have played against more P5 schools than Tennessee's opponents. Tennessee had 3 cupcake games, while Oregon only had one. Ducks also finish the season playing a much more difficult schedule than Tennessee. Plus, in the CFP guidelines, they are supposed to take into account a conference championship. Non-conference champions: 2016: tOSU 11-1 Conference champions: Penn St. 11-2, Oklahoma 10-2 2017: Alabama 11-1 Conference champions: tOSU 11-2, USC 11-2 2018: Notre Dame 12-0 Conference champions: tOSU 12-1, Washington 10-3 2020: Notre Dame 10-1 Conference champions: Oklahoma 8-2, Oregon 4-2 2021: UGA 12-1 Conference champions: Baylor 11-2, Utah 10-3, Pitt 11-2 A 1 loss nonconference champion has never beaten out a 1 loss conference champion. 3 weeks left in the regular season and then the conference championship. So, much time for chaos to happen. 7. Injury Report: Updated news for Oregon Ducks ahead of game vs UW DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Ducks have a few key pieces with status up in the air as Washington comes to Autzen in a game between two ranked teams.
  8. My rule of thumb is if the majority of players weren't alive when it happened, then it doesn't matter for both college and professional. So, teams get 20 years in college and 35 years in professional sports. Nobody cares what happened earlier. I don't hear anybody talking about Ivy league schools as powerhouse football programs.
  9. I don't think the Rose Bowl understands where they are at with college football. I have never been a fan of the stadium, I think it just short of awful. There are plenty of other bowl games that would be absolutely OK with getting into the CFP rotation. None of them would have 90K seats. 5 have over 70K seats and another 6 with 65K or more. Keep it on the westish coast with Las Vegas 65K or LA SoFi 70K. I like how the Rose Bowl is like 3 hours every 3 years is not asking for much. Well, it is when none of the other bowl games aren't asking for anything. Plus, when they do go to 12 teams, you are likely more often than not to have only the 3rd best B1G TEN and 2nd best Pac 12. Why should a crap matchup be given a prime-time slot? If the Rose Bowl isn't careful, they will be left out.

  14. I'm not sure what Dodd was trying to express with this article. I don't think he came to any real conclusion. However, I guess he is trying to ask should the Pac-12 follow the money or visibility? Young people don't do normal TV. Neither of my kids (12 & 14) go out of their way to watch normal TV. People who want to watch college football will. If we are talking about 1-3 million extra per school, I can see not going the Amazon route. If we are talking more than that, then it makes sense to go with Amazon. If you are playing good football or basketball, you will be put on normal TV. If you don't have money to keep up with the other leagues, your teams are likely to be bad and nobody will want to watch anyway. Pac-12 should be concerned about visibility, not value compared to Big 12 as new media rights deal nears - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Plus, a look at whether further expansion is coming to the Big Ten, Big 12 and/or Pac-12 If there is a big enough difference in money, I go with adding Amazon.
  15. Yep. Oregon scheduled the game against Georgia in 2018. Ducks were coming off a 7-6 season and Georgia was coming off a 13-2 season in 2017. It is extremely rare for a game to be scheduled within 1 year of it being played. The first open date currently is 2027. Already have 1 game scheduled in 2033. Georgia, Oregon Agree to Contract to Play in 2022 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game BLEACHERREPORT.COM The Georgia Bulldogs and Oregon Ducks will meet in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sept. 3, 2022, according to Tim Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution... 17. 15 Pac-12 basketball storylines to watch for 2022-23 SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM Columnist Jon Gold tackles the 15 most important storylines of the upcoming Pac-12 men's basketball season. Who'll emerge on top?
  18. Young is out of the Heisman race. He isn't putting up that crazy of numbers to overcome 2 losses.
  19. Why do teams schedule those games? Money. The Ducks made more money from that game, then they would have if they played a terrible team at home. It was 100% a money grab. Schools like home and home because they don't have to pay a team to play them. It is like Joe Klatt completely ignored why Texas and Oklahoma is leaving for the SEC and why USC and UCLA are going to the B1G Ten. Definitely a risk reward situation.
  20. CFP is "supposed" to take in account a conference championship. In theory a Pac 12 champion at 12-1 should be ranked higher than a 12-1 or 11-1 non-conference champion. However, with Tennessee and Oregon both having played Georgia, it will strain that theory. My personal opinion, the loser between tOSU and Michigan fall behind the Ducks, if the Ducks have won out. The Ducks strength of schedule, #7, to finish the season is much stronger than any of the 6 teams ahead of them. It is a crap shoot with the rotating CFP committee. They haven't been perfect and haven't always appeared to use logic, but I haven't had any real complaint in their final 4 since the beginning of the CFP.
  21. Another Autzen expansion is not happening any time soon. When they expanded in 2002, they went from 41,698 to 54,000. 12,000 seats is a ton, when Eugene is around 180K and our neighbor Springfield is 62K. That is nearly 25% of every human in the immediate area. The next closest town of over 100K is Salem 1 hour north, but they tend to be OSU fans or at best 50/50 Ducks/Beavers. Portland is 2 hours north. Bend is 2.5 hours east and Medford is 2.5 hours south. The AD and the Pac 12 have zero say in game times. Once the contract has been signed with the TV companies, the TV companies have 100% say in when the game time starts. I don't think ESPN was throwing Oregon and Pac 12 a bone with the 12:30 start time. I think they actually hurt the Pac 12 because it was on at the same time as Tennessee at Georgia.
  22. Yes and no. It is how close you are to the opposing team and if you are facing the opposing bench or your own.
  23. I think the Ducks would beat TCU, but I'm going to give any undefeated P5 the nod over a 1 loss team. TCU should be ranked ahead of Alabama. I'll take 13-1 Rose Bowl win.
  24. It won't be talked about, but the Ducks had more total yards and the same amount of 1st downs against Georgia than Tennessee. Ducks did it game 1 with everything new, while Tennessee did it game 9 in the flow of the season. It is hard to ignore the score difference between the 2 games and the Ducks did give up 200 more yards.
