  1. I have had a few friends and co-workers go to watch and said it was a good time. https://www.dailyemerald.com/multimedia/photos-first-weekend-of-the-2022-world-athletic-championships-are-held-at-hayward-field-in/article_c9be1968-0732-11ed-9b37-7f1e61120e8c.html
  2. Maybe someday track and field will get out of its own way. Bill Oram: Devon Allen debacle destined to define these World Athletics Championships WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM If there is one thing international track and field can be trusted to get right, and there might only be one, it is to rigidly enforce its most archaic and arbitrary rules.
  3. Full team preview. Duck Dive: Oregon Football 2022 Preview WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM Going deep with the Ducks’ scheme, returning personnel, and unknowns
  4. I don't know the "rules" that make up the CFP, but B1G and SEC only have 2 of 11 votes if every conference gets a vote. I have a feeling if the B1G and SEC try and say we will do our own thing the federal government may get involved.
  5. I have said it before and I know it wouldn't be easy, but football and maybe basketball have their own conferences and the rest of sports keep it regional. TV contracts would be a mess, but it could keep more schools afloat.
  6. Unless state/federal money is being pulled, I don't see why UCLA would not go to the B1G TEN. We are talking 40-60 million more per year. That is a lot of money, even if half of it is eaten up by travel costs.
  7. Oregon returning the 2nd most returning snaps from 2021 at 85%. Stanford is #1 with 100%, but lands number is in the group ranking. Ranking the Pac-12’s offensive line groups ahead of 2022 season SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM We rank all 12 offensive line groups in the Pac-12 ahead of the 2022 season.
  8. It’s easy to see why Kasevich was picked so high in the draft with his breakout 2022 season for the Ducks. He hit .324 with four home runs and 44 runs batted in. Kasevich also played an elite shortstop with a fielding percentage of .980 that included just five errors on the season. Toronto Blue Jays draft Oregon shortstop Josh Kasevich DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon shortstop Josh Kasevich was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the second round (60th overall) of the 2022 MLB draft.
  9. It makes no sense when they move AFTER the gun shot.
  10. Well, I know when I'm hitting my head on the wall it hurts and I stop. I can't say the same thing about some coaching decisions. I may not know the correct thing to call, but I can certainly see something that isn't working and i would stop.
  11. I watched most of all the events on NBC/USA/CNBC (I don't have Peacock) over the weekend. Read this sentence: According to the timing technology, Allen had started 0.099 seconds after the gun. How is it a false start, if you go after the gun is fired? Totally crazy. FYI, electronic is not 100%. Wimbledon had a guy not play for around 15 minutes arguing about a ball being in/out. He said it was out, but the electronic system said in. In the article, they had live camera angles and showed the ball was out.
  12. Exact reason why I never watch ND on NBC. It is a done deal, but I'll make a concerted effort not to watch any USC/UCLA sports, unless they are playing the Ducks.
  13. So, FoxSports, CBS Sports and Yahoo Sports all have stories about Spencer Webb, but ESPN doesn't. They reported about Utah's players death the same day he was shot in September.
  14. I don't understand the b12 numbers or the ACC numbers. The P12 is not 50% behind on viewership.
  15. My wife is hearing the same thing about it being Spencer Webb. My son has been to the same rock slides. That is nuts.
  16. It doesn't matter that UCLA got their 102.8 million dollar debt because of lack of thought, but that with the move to B1G TEN they will be able to keep all their sports. That is their play. If you force us to stay in the Pac 12, we will have to cut a ton of sports.
  17. Three Oregon Football Players Named to Athlon Sports Preseason All-American Teams - Sports Illustrated Oregon Ducks News, Analysis and More WWW.SI.COM The Ducks deploy one of the most talented rosters in the Pac-12 ahead of next season
  18. I don't think NCAA basketball season overlaps with WNBA. Former Oregon women’s basketball forward Nyara Sabally joins Sacramento State coaching staff WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Sabally will work under coach Mark Campbell, formerly of UO, who announced the addition of the No. 5 pick of last year’s WNBA draft to his staff on Tuesday.
  19. Last season, the Ducks finished 71st in total defense as the unit slipped in the team's final four games. Previewing the Oregon Ducks defense ahead of fall camp WWW.REGISTERGUARD.COM After finishing 71st in total defense a season ago, the Oregon Ducks hope to improve on that side of the ball in 2022.
  20. Unless football recruiters are vastly different than basketball recruiters, then Farrell is a lot of hot air. Look at the recent rankings of former NBA player kids. I don't think a single one is 5 stars. Wade, Pippen, James, O'neal, etc none of them were given 5 stars. Half of them weren't even 4 stars. The last name Manning certainly brought eyes to the kid, but any recruiter that wants to remain legit gives real rankings to talent level. Don't forget the stars do get skewed according to which teams offer scholarships. You get scholarship offer from Alabama and ND you essentially get a 1/2 star boost.
  21. Does Fox/B1G expect USC and UCLA to always play the late games to get in the PST window? 2 teams isn't enough to fill the PST sports window. I think everybody was talking about how much money USC and UCLA are going to get, but not much about scheduling. I'm not sure how interested kids are going to be travelling 2K+ miles up to 15 times a year for some sports. I'm sure there are Olympic programs at USC/UCLA that won't be affected, but I have a feeling some will take a recruiting hit because of all the traveling. It has been mentioned before, College Football is the 2nd most popular sport in the US. I can tell you, if Oregon is left out of whatever the world looks like, I won't be interested. If they go to a big 2, I won't hardly watch. it will be like the MLB for me. I'll maybe watch the finals. College fan bases are way more localized and if you reduce the "it" teams to 32-36 teams, I have a feeling TV ratings will crash. College isn't the NFL.
  22. Three Oregon recruits in the 2022 class came from the state of California. Six came from the state in the 2021 class. Eight came from the state in the 2020 class. Each of the five highest-ranked recruits from the 2019 class (11 total) came from the state. Thirteen came from the Tate in the 2018 class. Monday Rewind: Travel thoughts for USC and UCLA, Dante Moore to Oregon, and Wazzu stock SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM How does three straight weeks of hotels and road games sound for UCLA basketball? And what does Dante Moore's commitment to Oregon say about Dan Lanning?
  23. At this point it has become fairly clear that if there is one member of that unprecedented recruiting class that can step into that role, it is junior guard Te-Hina Paopao. WBB: it’s Paopao’s time to shine WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM Women’s basketball underperformed in 2022, and it needs a floor general.
  24. Unfortunately, that world no longer exists. NCAA/University Presidents better figure something out. You take away the money maker for most college sport programs and then you no longer have college sports. My 2 cents. Everybody should go back to their conferences for all sports, except football. Some how make 4 FBS conferences for football, 12-16 teams each. Total restructure to put teams regionally together again. You would still need to cut some teams and move them to group of 5 status. All 4 conferences have the same TV deal. The Kansas' of the world wouldn't like it. However, I'm guessing if Kansas was in the next tier down, their fan base would enough winning seasons again. I know it is not going to happen, but the federal government may need to get involved to keep Title 9 compliant.
  25. The SEC is only done because the schools they want are in the ACC and don't want to pay 50 mil per to get them out of the TV contract. I'm guessing the ACC members are going to as a whole want out of that terrible TV contract. I can't believe they signed for so long. When Clemson, UNC, Miami and whomever else in the ACC are on the market, SEC will take them.
