Ducks Fly Down to ESPN Bottom 10
I'm not surprised by the Ducks making ESPN the Bottom 10 at #5. #5 is usually a good team that got beat bad the week before. Now if the Ducks fall into any of the other standings, then you know we are having a bad season.

The Choice is Pretty Simple to Me About Oregon's Future...
If the B1G goes to 20 teams, I'm not sure how you do the scheduling. Having two divisions, play your other 9 teams and then in the conference championship game play the other conference winner? Trying to play every other conference member isn't a reasonable goal. If the B1G does bring in the 4 additional Pac 12 schools, the B1G Ten conferences would be: USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Stanford, Cal, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, MSU, Michigan, tOSU, Penn St., Rutgers, Maryland.

Is Lanning Taking Secrecy TOO FAR?
Well, it is the 1st game, so I think it is fine. Plus, it is against his old HC, so there is that part of the equation as well. Once, this game is played, if there are no injuries, 90% of the players who started this game, will be starters the rest of the season. You can only be this secretive for the 1st game of the year.

Should Fans Feel Compelled to Contribute to NIL?
The average tuition across all states for 2021 was $30,000. Let's add $10,000 for room and board. The average scholarship then is $40,000. 124 teams with 85 scholarships costs the schools $421,600,000 per year. Add in basketball 358 teams, 13 scholarships at $40,000 and that is an additional $186,160,000. Total of $607,760,000. The TV money the D1 football conferences pulled in was 1.553 billion. That doesn't include the TV money the D1 basketball conferences pulled in. The big 5 professional leagues don't give less than 48% of revenue to the players. Scholarships for football and basketball only account for 39.11%. I don't know what the right way to move forward is, but why are the kids that make sports happen, the ones who have to get the short end of the stick? The coaches are paid like professionals. With the new contract Nick Saban signed, I believe he is the 2nd highest paid football coach in America. Only behind Sean McVay.

I buy Duck gear, have season tickets and mostly Nike athletic gear. That is enough for me. I have no problem with others contributing to the NIL group fund.

For Visitors: Eugene, Tailgating Advice and Recommendations
The bus service is called Lane Transit District (LTD). If you want to see bus routes. As for the pubs/breweries, I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Ninkasi is a brewery that started in Eugene and is at least regional, if not national. The Beer Stein is a pub that has hundreds of beers from around the world. Definitely use google maps. Search for pubs and the breweries. You can see if you stay between 2nd and Madison (Oakshire Pub House, most NW) 3rd and Mill (Coldfire Brewery, most NE), Hilyard & Broadway (Elkhorn, most SE) 13th & Oak Alley (Falling sky, most SW) you have 11 breweries and 6 pubs you can walk to and drink. I'm not sure if you care about Animal House, but you can see a couple of spots they filmed. If you go on E. 11th between Hilyard and Alder you can see the fraternity and the sorority they used in the film. On the map it is called Alpha Sigma Phi and Richardson Hall. I'd check out Hayward field as well. It is a different experience than seeing it on TV. Depending on where you stay, there is foot bridge south of the river where you can walk across to get to Autzen.

@Mic In the upper right hand corner you will see 3 dots. Click the 3 dots and about 2 or 3 lines down it will say Incognito. However, you must be using Chrome. If you are using Microsoft Edge, it is called New InPrivate Window. I have a new laptop at work. It messed up all my web information. I don't have access to Chrome any more. I tried a new private window with Edge, but it didn't work. It takes a bit of effort, but I do find all the daily articles on the forum.

Oregon's Coaching Carousel
Kyle is a very good coach, however he has exactly 1 top 5 finish and then zero other top 10 finishes. He has 1 top 15 finish, which was last year. After 18 years, a coach is who he is. I don't expect Utah to be finishing in the top 10 consistently. They will have good seasons and jump in with a great season every once in a while, but after 18 years I'm not sure what has anybody thinking Utah is suddenly going to make the jump to greatness. Does Utah have an uncle Phil? The only way Utah makes the jump is if they get millions to poor into football. Shaw started out strong and then fell off the map. Helfrich if he had won, would have been a life time Duck. Taggart and Cristobal had strings pulling them to another school. I believe if Lanning wins, he can be a long time coach. However, the only school that currently scares me is Alabama. Nick Saban is 71 and isn't going to be coaching forever. If Lanning takes the Ducks where we want to go, then in 4 years(?) when Saban finally decides to retire, I would think Lanning would be on the short list of coaches. I have read that uncle Phil has plans in place to keep Oregon Football with money. Hopefully, that includes making sure we keep a head coach with a high salary.
