  1. My guess is the first 5(?) years of the new conference member is given less than a full share of TV revenue. Once they have their feet wet in the Pac 12, then they get full share. You are correct McDuck, if the new members are never given full share, then they likely wouldn't be competitive.
  2. Oregon comes back with a lot of returners on the D-Line. Ranking the Pac-12’s defensive lines for the 2022 season SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM We rank the defensive line groups (including edge rushers) throughout the Pac-12.
  3. I'm not sure how many readers still play video games, but back in the day I loved Madden Football. A look at the Madden ratings for every Oregon Duck in the NFL DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Marcus Mariota and Ugo Amadi have the same overall rating? Justin Herbert isn’t the highest rated Duck? A look at the Madden 2023 ratings for the Oregon alumni in the NFL.
  4. A filler article. Not much there. Ranking Oregon Football's 2022 Schedule According to Difficulty - Sports Illustrated Oregon Ducks News, Analysis and More WWW.SI.COM The Ducks have some big-time matchups in Dan Lanning's debut season as head coach.
  5. So how did all of your favorite current and former Oregon athletes perform at the Oregon22 WCH Track and Field Championships? Here’s a quick recap: Oregon22 Recap: How all 15 Ducks did in the World T&F Championships DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The World Track and Field Championships are over at Hayward. Here’s a look at how all the current and former Oregon Ducks performed.
  6. All schools do keep their regular season OOC game money. They share in bowl revenue, which is a huge scam. Except for the biggest bowl games, the teams playing in the game lose money because they are forced to buy a certain amount of tickets and that usually doesn't happen.
  7. Win a title and get paid. However, I don't think any coach should have a contract longer than 4 years. They can keep renewing it, but it is just silly to have such a long contract. Especially, when they pretty much redo them before they are complete any way. Georgia rewards Kirby Smart after national title with new deal making him top-paid coach WWW.USATODAY.COM Nearly six months after Kirby Smart delivered Georgia its first football national championship in 41 years, the school announced a new contract
  8. Half of the Pac 12 QBs made the list. Ranking the Pac-12 QBs on Davey O’Brien Award watch list SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM Five Pac-12 quarterbacks were named to the Davey O'Brien Award watch list. Take a look as we rank those 5, plus throw in another wild card, for good measure.

  10. Most universities get federal money, I have a feeling Fox and ESPN might be getting a smack down soon. I know there was a big ta do when conferences fought for their own TV money, but I have a feeling it will be full circle. Also, what are the exact rules for CFP? Aren't there 11-12 people one from each conference and ND making decisions? Is there enough eyes for B1G Ten and SEC to just say, we are going to have our own thing? I know they have a majority of the major names, but if you take away everybody else, is it really the same thing?
  11. Athletes are still able to move freely, but have to make a decision in a small time frame. I think it is a great idea.
  12. Nice find McDuck. If that is the case, it would be sweet if Pasadena said sorry, no B1G Ten games can be played here. Of course, they won't do that because they get a lot of money from football games. However, if is fun to think of them pulling the stadium from UCLA.
  13. With the Rose Bowl owned by UCLA, I'm not sure the Pac 12 have any say in the matter. It is a terrible stadium. The sight lines are terrible. Everything is old and worn.
  14. Why would BYU jump on the Pac 12 ship, when it already has hitched their wagon to the Big 12?
  15. It might dilute the TV money, but getting back to 12 would be a wise decision for the Pac 12. San Diego St. and UNLV make the most sense. San Diego St. has been good in football and men's hoops recently. If they get real money, they can likely stay there. UNLV has been good in the past in men's hoops and with money hopefully they can be in football.
  16. I know StubHub/Ticketmaster etc have thousands individuals that buy the max tickets allowed to certain events, so they can resell them. Sucks, if you are a true fan. I know my buddy who is into concerts, one of his groups that always sell out has a random draw. He gets me and other friends to put in a request and hopes one of us get tickets.
  17. They will fall down the rankings once their CFP run is off the table. They are a big market and have a fan base that isn't as fair weather as the LA schools.
  18. Cardwell is one of 10 Pac-12 running backs on the preseason watch list. Oregon has had one Doak Walker Award winner in its history – LaMichael James in 2010. The last Duck to be named a semifinalist or better for the award was Royce Freeman in 2017. Cardwell On Doak Walker Award Watch List - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM Byron Cardwell is on the preseason watch list for the 2022 Doak Walker Award after leading the Pac-12 with 6.84 yards per carry as a freshman.
  19. Another thing to remember about UNLV and San Diego St. and maybe Fresno St., if you bring them up to Power 5, their viewership would likely increase. Even when Alabama plays sisters of the peace, their TV viewership goes down. When you play against good teams, your fan base wants to watch more. They can't replace the LA TV market, but they would likely have a bigger TV audience than OSU and Arizona in 4 years after they had a full rotation of recruiting at the Power 5 level.
  20. Ducks tied for the most games over 4 million viewers in the Pac 12. Pac-12 Football: Teams ranked by TV performances ratings last 5 years DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM With conference realignment always a topic in the Pac-12, a look a which teams have the best TV performance numbers over the past half-decade.
  21. I would have thought it would be sold out the day tickets went on sale.
  22. How could NBC find the extra money? By adding what in the business is called "shoulder programming": or, other Power Five college football games to air around Notre Dame's that would help support that rise in value. College football realignment: Notre Dame names its price for independence - College Football HQ WWW.SI.COM Notre Dame remains the one major program yet to make any moves during the latest phase of college football realignment. But up to now, the Irish have maintained I can't see any network giving ND 75 Million per year. They are headed to the B1G TEN, but didn't they say they don't want schools that don't add 80-100 mill in TV money? If nobody is willing to give up 75 mil to ND, shouldn't the B1G TEN also turn them down?
  23. The local restuarants immediately around Hayward are not as happy as they thought they would be. Once in the meet, you can't leave. So, they are not busy during meet time because all the extra people are in the meet. The last I heard, there was no hotel space for 2 hours in any direction of Eugene. My daughter has practice at/near one of the places where they are allowing athletes to, so I have seen a few foreign visitors. The local news has run stories of foreigners coming to the meet. Eugene is a track savvy town, so there are quite a few locals at the meet. My wife works close to where they are having non track event festival all week, so her office took the whole week off. If you look at Google maps, the Festival is on the south side of the Willamette River between Coburg Rd and Ruth Bascom Bike Path.
  24. I'm not sure what the by laws are for the B1G TEN/SEC, but why do the historical B1G TEN/SEC unversities get any say in this new world? I'd say half of them don't move the needle in football or men's basketball in both conferences. Why is each league still allowing TV losers to be in the conference? Also, I find it odd that the B1G TEN added Rutgers and Maryland for their TV numbers, yet they don't come close to UO or UW in TV numbers. Either it matters or it doesn't. I think the only reason why Vanderbilt is in the SEC is to give them scholastic cache. Vandy had a winning record since 2000: 2008(7-6), 2012 (9-4) and 2013 (9-4). Before that it was 1982 (8-4). Since 1980 they have won 6 or more games only those 4 times.
  25. No surprises, other than maybe OSU finishing 8th. Pac-12 Preseason Predictions For Every Game: Preview 2022 COLLEGEFOOTBALLNEWS.COM Pac-12 preseason predictions for every game, predicted order of finish, and lookahead to the 2022 season.
