I can't remember all the "wasted" time outs, but I'm not sure that is always on Mario. If the OC doesn't get the play down to the field fast enough, then the QB can't go through the pre play progression. I have no doubt Mario has bungled TOs, but I'd say some also were on the OC not getting the play in with enough time to the QB. With the consistent 3 yards and a clouds of dust and Mario repeatedly saying he wants to instill his will on the O and D lines, I'd say he has a ton of say in the offensive play calling. This has been through 2 OCs. Pretty hard not to hook that on Mario's wagon. He needs to let his OC make the calls during the game. Mario can have his input before the game while they are discussing the game plan.

Go Ducks. It would be nice if the Ducks finished high enough to get a 1st round bye in the Pac 12 tournament.

Seems like it would be illegal. If the money is donated private money for stadiums, locker rooms, etc, it doesn't seem like you can prevent universites to spend that money. What about the private universities, they wouldn't have to follow the same rules. I don't like the arms race college sports has become, but I'm not sure they have done a lot of thinking about this bill. I know Oregon does some ads with their athletes, but not much. Also, I'm not sure they get paid any money. More likely they pay people to show or display their ads. How do you quantify image and likeness where there are no 100% factual numbers.

I think it was to be expected. Mariota was the highest paid backup QB in the NFL. Pretty hard to have a competative team when you tie that much money up on a player that hardly sees the field. Mariota will get a chance to start on another team in 2021.

QBs on the Ducks roster. 2018 recruits: Bradley Yaffe, preferred walk on 2020 recruits: Jay Butterfield, Robby Ashford Transfers: Anthony Brown 2021 recruit: Ty Thompson Anthony Brown is for sure in his last season and I'm guessing Ashford/Butterfield will be gone at the end of the season or in the middle of 2021. I have never heard of Yaffe. As a preferred walk-on, I don't see him playing into the competetion. That leaves 2 QBs on the roster. That is pretty thin, but with the free season for Ashford/Butterfield, they will still have 4 seasons left, if they were to redshirt in 2021. However, if TT were to win the position, I'm not sure I can see either staying and being backup for 3 or 4 seasons. Remember verbal commitments mean close to nothing. If Oregon is down to 1 QB going into the 2022 season, you can bet QB recruits will be taking a 2nd look at Oregon. If TT or Butterfield win the job, they will have only 3 seasons left. A recruit will likely think they will reshirt 1 season and then win the job the next season. All is not lost yet with verbal commits.

I have a feeling Mario is a straight shooter with his players. He probably mentioned to Tyler he wasn't going to be the starter and it would be in his best interests to find another place to play. Kids transferring is pretty common, so I don't think the Ducks are going to have any longer term issues, other than we might be a bit thin at the QB position for next season.

I'm still angry we are traveling to tOSU. With pretty much every OOC game cancelled last year, every team should have pushed their OOC games back 1 year. Ducks are getting hosed as this isn't going to be a home and home game with tOSU. I know the optics wouldn't look good, but if I'm Oregon I tell tOSU our contract is void. I wish the NCAA would disallow teams to schedule OOC more than 3 years in advance.

I'd prefer to jump straight to TT, but if he isn't the best guy for the job, then I'll root for who is. I don't think Brown or Shough passed the eye test for a top QB in a power 5 conference. No idea if it was because of the strangenous of the season or if they just aren't very good. We'll get to see next season.

Yep, the class rankings at 24/7 and Rivals have all the teams ranked 3-7 within a single 3 star signee. The Ducks really need to sign one more player after Cardwell to stay in the top 6.

I missed the game, so I'm not sure what was exactly said. It could have been where the first test was positive, but the 2nd test was negative and they were waiting to perform a 3rd test. The protocols from what I have seen have not been followed very consistently by teams/conferences. My preference would have been to leave the player in quarantine. We still aren't getting a consistent answer on asymptomatic being contagious or not.

This next TV contract is going to be huge for the Pac 12. They are going to need to drop sole ownership of the Pac 12 Network and come to an agreement with either Fox or CBS. I'd really be pushing for Fox, since they are trying to keep up with ESPN when it comes to sports.

I think that boat has sailed a long time ago. Conferences are not going to give up control of their cash cow. As we have seen with recent articles, there have already been some talk of the Power 5 conferences moving away and doing their own thing with football. If NCAA were to try and grab that from them, they would definitely walk away and take Men's basketball with them. However, Pac 12 and Big 12 get the shaft the most, so if they could pull the BIG TEN with them to make changes. the SEC and ACC would have to follow.

Hoping the new commissoner puts the Pac 12 on the right financial track.
