People with alleged connections to tOSU football seem to be pretty convinced the '24 season will be Day's last in Columbus. He supposedly wants to go to the NFL and one could well assume if he does Chip will be right there with him.

I don't think John has the 'good sources' that he implies. I think he has people on the fringes that feed him basic stuff and then he proceeds to add his touch to it. You can tell when he interviews Dan that Dan knows exactly how to play him and make him think he is getting some real hot news when in reality he is not. No attempt to hijack this thread. Just was interesting that John didn't seem to understand the Oregon/UW dynamic. Guess he has some grist for his talk show mill.

Just some humor for today- John Canzano in his behind the pay wall column ruminated on all the name calling/social media vitriol etc that took place after Muhammed announced his transfer to UO. John implied he did not understand it and proceeded to discuss the current landscape of college football and the portal. All this begs the question, has John not paid attention to the Oregon/UW rivalry the last few years? Is he not the guy who has Softy on his radio show and hears the absurdities Softy spews on a regular basis during football season and especially the week of the game? I just found the whole thing interesting. John is certainly playing the 'help me understand' card which I guess gives him fodder for his talk show and future columns.

And Brian Kelly kept his QB in meaningless games to boost his Heisman stock so the LSU numbers are certainly skewed IMO. But water under the bridge now.

Nevada Dawg- thanks for your great insights and sharing your perspectives. Always learn something from reading your posts especially as it relates to DL and of course Georgia. The comparison of DeBoer to Harsin might end up being a very valid one. Certainly time will tell. You very astutely point out the one flaw that might be very telling with DeBoer ,and that is his lack of recruiting chops. He's now runnin' with the big boys (as they say) and vying for time in living rooms with Kirby, Brian Kelly, Sark etc. Not saying DL isn't running with these guys but one notch DL has is he has recruited the south and has relationships. DeBoer, not so much.

Totally agree and there are many points of consideration here. Yes, Scott Frost was arrogant and thought he owned the room merely by walking in. Unfortunately he had a horrible personality. The other thing is these kids and their parents are looking at a bigger picture now and it's not just because of NIL and the portal. One of the things you consistently hear recruits and their parents say about DL and the staff is how 'real' they are. The net is being authentic and real matters. In the past you never heard those words echoed about Kelly or Helfrich. My point is sure Alabama has a lot to sell. So does SC but you don't seem to hear the words 'real' and 'authentic' use about Lincoln Riley. Maybe they will be at some point but there is a reason Dan and team are ruling So Cal at the moment.

Okay, not gonna lie, I had tears in my eyes watching that.
