As I mentioned in another thread, I don't think we have enough data points to know if Dante is the guy or not. Would seem if they go after a QB in the portal then there are possibly questions. Just my opinion

All this only reinforces why our brethren to the north (Corvallis) are in the mess they are in. If only they had thought about cultivating their brand when Smith was leading the resurgence instead of constantly mocking Oregon. The reality though (and they will never admit it publicly) is they are/were envious of Oregon because Oregon had smart people who decided to build the brand many years ago. I know the common orange and black rejoinder to all this is 'well, you'd be nothing without Phil Knight'. There is credence to that for sure BUT there are more smaller fish in the pond than big fish and Oregon has done a really good job of cultivating that segment of the fan base. Not my intention to hijack this thread in anyway.

Hmmm- that is interesting but I wonder if it speaks to a bigger cultural issue in the program. No definitive data points, just wondering.

I am not sure we have enough data points on Dante at the moment. We've only seen glimpses of Novosad and nothing I recall of Moga so this certainly leads to questions for sure. We know they are doing everything to preserve Dante's redshirt so not sure how much real game time experience he gets and the fact they are preserving the red shirt MAY mean something. Maybe one of the aforementioned hits the portal. I have no insights at all but I would be surprised if Dante were to hit the portal again. Lots of grist for the mill since the portal opens in a few weeks.

I would not be surprised to see Whittingham walk away this year. I think he is at that point . Just my casual observation.

I lost count after the 275,000th time they showed Steve Belichick on the sidelines in the first quarter. Hopefully they were able to continue throughout the rest of the game. Had to switch over to the Christmas movie on Hallmark channel.

Dan had some fun with James Crepea last night during his presser. James asked about the last TD and Dan said he was sure DUCK fans were appreciative. He then commented "I know James was one of those guys that got excited. I got your back James". James retorted " I never wager on sports". Dan replied 'good to hear. I'd say that's a safe decision all the time'.

'Hole' fans?????? Truly a classy comment. They are so envious it's beyond pathetic. I recently read an interview with the OS pres and by all accounts she is a very smart person. She is a mechanical engineer and reading some of the research she has done is quite impressive. BUT, (you knew this was coming) in an interview a couple of months ago with John Canzano he asked her about more effective marketing of OS athletics. He made the casual comment that the school 40 miles away has done a pretty good job of that. Her comment, 'you mean Western Oregon'???? I get the attempt at humor but given their situation it came off dumb and classless.
