  1. Honestly while Cam has gotten better over the years, he's not a very mentally strong kicker, can't really think of a big kick from anything longer than a chip shot with the game on the line where he made it. Heck he did his best last year to blow the bowl game on a PAT.
  2. You know you're right, it makes it even more baffling.
  3. You would think learning under Smart, Lanning would know when to kick a damn field goal. It's like every coach at Oregon thinks they have to be like Chip back in the hey day, it's okay to kick a field goal, it's okay to punt, you don't have to go for it every dang time. So disappointing after we came back, it's such a shame.
  4. This one is on Lanning, has to friggin learn, has to.
  5. Wow Lanning, just wow, that was Cristobal levels of idiocy.
  6. Give Lanning a ton of credit there, clutch time out
  7. Yeah, that was not a PI there, I don't think the refs have been that bad (by Pac12 standard), but that was a bad call there. I think they've gotten away with some holding by their O-line as well.
  8. One hundred percent, I don't have any doubts about Lanning as our coach overall, just needs to learn when the aggressiveness is warranted, he'll be fine in the long run. When I say that I have concerns about his in-game decisions I think he is going to learn when to go and when to hold off.
  9. It's such an interesting game with the way that you have one team who is so pass reliant versus such a balanced offense. One thing to consider is that we've had quite a few plays more than Washington, might be seeing attrition in the trenches. Think Stein has two very good drives in a row now with the play calling.
  10. Wonder is Bridges is just a better matchup, bigger, able to matchup the size of Odunze.
  11. I'm trying not to get too upset, but man Lanning has to improve as an in-game coach.
  12. Lanning making another huge mistake, this potential loss is on him for that call, we still be down a score if he just kicks the damn FG
  13. That's the same sort of decision that cost them last year, just a horrible call. Not even a good play call.
  14. Hated that call, hated hated hated that call. Kick the damn FG!
  15. Yeah, I just don't think you can blitz him, his receivers are too good, and he's just so quick with his decision making.
  16. We're pretty deep at that position, but one of our huge advantages is that depth and being able to rotate guys in and out. Can't afford to lose our best pass rusher when we go up against perhaps the best QB we'll see especially since Penix is more stationary than Williams, important to move him off his spot more so than Williams I feel like.
  17. It's one thing to do it once as a coach, it's quite another to not learn from such an awful decision, I can't even begin to understand how you can't make the decision to kneel the ball. There are plenty of times you can understand a coach taking a radical decision as being aggressive (going for it on 4th down, going for two, all out blitz), this though is none of that, and if it's about developing a "toughness" culture, than that is just egotistic and self-destructive to the extreme.
  18. I see Justin Flowe is still an idiot who can't control himself from hitting the QB late. Absolutely horrendous decision, basically gifted USC a TD.
  19. I don't really think we don't get any love, I mean I think it's just a week where our game was pretty ho hum, we got a good amount of positive pub last week, today we just had an article that talked about us having the best SP+ score in the Pac-12, if you look at our individual stats it's understandable that the focus would be on Penix, Williams, and Sanders since everything runs through them. We'll start to get more of a focus if we beat UW up on Montlake. This year is a bit different than previous years, since the Pac-12 is viewed as an extremely strong conference, we'll get the credit we deserve if we churn out the results that demand it.
  20. Tough, I wonder if he'll request another year due to injury and we'll see him at Autzen next year.
  21. I just feel like this whole situation was pretty obvious from the start, I know he's from Phoenix, I know he had deep connections to ASU, but it always seemed like a bad idea to jump into the realm of head coaching at that place. Seems like he could have stayed at Oregon for another year or two and then have a much bigger selection of jobs.
  22. I would honestly think the football schedules will be a lot easier to do compared to the other sports where you're talking about games throughout the week, I'm sure they are working on it all, starting of course with the fall sports. I wouldn't be surprised to see the schedules put out until late spring for football, maybe even longer for the other sports.
  23. I actually don't think it was Deion trying to do something for his own ego, it's that they are very thin when it comes to elite players and he was using Hunter in order to win games, you could make an argument that they lose against TCU if he doesn't play so much offense in that game. If he had more depth I think he would have used Hunter more sparingly on offense.
