  1. Have to get some blitzes in, this passive defense is probably the worst thing to do against a guy like Penix, their receivers are too good, our LBs and DBs can't cover, have to get pressure.
  2. If we can get one stop, we'll take away their confidence, they can not stop us if we don't play stupid football and keep it simple. Have to start to get a bit of a pass rush, Penix is too good to give him time.
  3. Could be worse, have to pound the ball, have to play a smarter ball game. This first drive is going to be so important since if we can score a TD we'll gain some momentum. I get the feeling neither team is very happy right now.
  4. Why! Why would you do that, just set up normally and do a QB sneak, instead we're rushing to get set again and snap the ball, horrible horrible decision.
  5. Just like last year, this team can't shoot, awful offense. Completely embarrassing performance right now, just atrocious, getting blown out right now by Irvine!
  6. I just want to see TCU have to play a starting QB for an entire game, they've been extremely fortunate to have played backup QBs in most of the big games against them. OU, Kansas, KSU, and now Texas Tech have all had to go to their backup because of injury. I mean how lucky can you get! Kansas and KSU win their games if the QB is healthy.
  7. They'll be fine, it's just one of those times you don't play at your best. It wasn't pretty, but Wilcox usually plays us pretty tough, Cal has never been a place where we play well, even during our best years. They'll come back next week and dominate I think. One thing that has been proven is that we play really well at home, so I expect we'll be up and raring to go against UW and Utah.
  8. They lost their starting QB, didn't have a good back up in place, lost some guys to the portal, and their defense hasn't been good for a while now. Kind of the perfect storm. Not the way they wanted to be treading before entering the SEC though for sure.
  9. Probably one of the more underrated games in Ducks history not to mention Pac-12/college football history, that play from Adams at the end was amazing, one of the more incredible final plays of regulation in a long time, the scramble, throwing off his back foot essentially falling down, then two players colliding with each other at the end. Then you had Addison keeping his foot in by about a millimeter, and to top it all off a interception to end the ball game, amazing. It's such a shame we only got one year of Adams.
  10. I'm confused, are you saying that nobody in the Pac has a chance to beat Ohio St. or are you saying teams have a bigger shot than 15%. That's a fairly low amount, and that's the highest percentage I would I would give with the game at a neutral location.
  11. Down year for a lot of the second tier programs in the Big 10. Iowa, Wiscy, and MSU are all down this year it appears. Penn St. and Michigan haven't played anyone significant so far, like others said very top heavy this year. I would say that I wouldn't be surprised if multiple teams could beat those two in the Pac-12. Ohio St. though is a different beast, don't really believe anyone would have over a 15% chance or so of beating them.
  12. I'm sorry but no team that loses a game 49-3 should get into the playoffs unless a lot of things happen, and they look absolutely dominate the rest of the way. Oregon would need to beat USC, Utah, UCLA, and UW by significant figures for them to begin to creep into the conversation for me. I get the argument you could make about how it was the coaching staff's first game, that it was on the road against the defending champs, but you just can't be dominated like that and deserve to go to the playofs imo. Winning the Pac-12 and going to the Rose Bowl is great goal for this team, if things happen and we find ourselves in the conversation, then great, but I wouldn't really think about it until we get into deep November.
  13. I don't think we've seen anything that overboard really, I've seen the same stuff we've done this year at Georgia, Alabama, and tOSU. We aren't directing it at the opposing team, we haven't gotten penalized for taunting, we have jawed a bit too much for my liking over minor stuff, but nothing where I'm just gobsmacked that it's happening. Let them have fun, a lot of the celebrations have been team oriented.
  14. After what happened against Georgia I'm pretty satisfied with where we are, the offense looks like it's getting back to what Oregon is known for, the defense is a work in progress, I can see how it will be more effective once the players get more experienced. I'm not as concerned about the penalties as everyone else is, I will get to that point if there isn't an improvement in the next game, we had two poor games in that regard, so if it continues into a third game than I'll start to get annoyed. I think we'll lose one more along the way, it's just how it goes usually in the Pac-12, I do feel like the fans are behind the new coaching staff, and it's going to be a positive transition. I like the way the coaching staff is preforming, I just hope we can keep it together for a few years.
  15. Yeah, I was absolutely baffled that we ran the plays we did inside the 10, it was absolutely bonkers that we never called an audible based on how WSU was set up. It took until TD to McCormick to throw the ball into the end zone, that's insane considering the ineffectiveness we had had until that point. It felt similar to Cristobal running the ball up the gut a thousand times regardless of the outcome. I get having an identity, and that early there was probably scripts to run off, but it was like he hadn't even scouted what the Washington St. defense is good at. We should have tried some fades, some crossing patterns, or if we were to run, try some misdirection.
  16. I don't think they're actually faster, it's more that they are ultra aggressive, so they are bee lining towards where they think the ball is going to, it's the reason why we had so many chunk plays, but also why we struggled when we got near the goal line. Great example is the TD on the last drive, they committed everything to stopping the run and left the TE all alone. It's what we should have done from the beginning of the game.
  17. Awful awful awful playcalling, I don't know maybe throw INTO the endzone!
  18. You know that WSU is going to sellout on the run, do something different!
  19. Pretty much always defer, I always want that opportunity to score first in the second half, especially at home since our crowd decides to always go on a walkabout and leaves our defense with a half empty crowd to get behind them.
  20. WSU could be winless for the last 20 and I would be worried about playing them in Pullman, weird stuff happens there. You just hope that we will be focused on making sure we have the same mindset that our opponent this week is Oregon, the goal is to continue to improve, we focus on that we'll be okay, if we believe we've turned the corner and everything is now just going to work out for us, we'll be in trouble.
  21. I'll go...... Georgia 27-21 1 TO 3 Sacks 240 yards passing
  22. I see this game as a free hit, nobody really expects anything from the Ducks in this game, if we can remain competitive keep it within a one score game where we have a chance in the 4th quarter I'll view it as a good step towards the rest of the season. We have the talent to do that I believe, but we'll at least have to have no bad luck to achieve that. This game is more about establishing what Lanning envisions for this program. If we get blown out, the thing we need to realize is that our goals are still achievable, which in my opinion is a Pac-12 championship and continuing to be the best program out west.
