Posted November 1, 2024Nov 1 Interesting article that Michigan is the B1G's last hope against the new Pac-12 invader. Michigan is the Big Ten's last hope against Oregon WWW.SI.COM Apparently Oregon didn't get the memo that said former Pac 12 teams would struggle competing in the Big Ten conference...
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Administrator Wow…”put us in our place?” Isn’t that precisely what I and a few others wrote that our new Conference photos felt towards us a while back? Yes, B1G, you have an Oregon problem… Mr. FishDuck
November 1, 2024Nov 1 I think we’ve been a villain for a while. Trying to become the villain will take some more work. Edited November 1, 2024Nov 1 by JabbaNoBargain
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Moderator More just an uncouth, ill-mannered, presumptuous outsider than a villain. Villain status may take another couple of seasons.
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Moderator Well, the B1G didn't actually "put" Oregon in its place. Oregon did that. But Ohio State, UCLA, Michigan State, Purdue & Illinois, tried as hard as they could to keep Oregon out of 1st Place.
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Maybe becoming the 2nd cousin that nobody wants to invite to their house. And you dread going to their house but you have to, anyway. OBD's have everybodys attention, now they need to close it out. Any loss going foward in the last 4 games will be considered a bad loss. GO DUCKS......
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Sort of odd the way this is written almost as if Oregon is not part of the B1G.
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Oregon has not truly become THE villain yet. The true transformation will take place when we knock one or more SEC teams off in the 12-team playoffs. A system that Greg Sankey had more than a small hand in creating. At this point, committees far away from Eugene will do their best to continue to rig the system in order that the "old guard" remains the status quo. We, however will just do it again, and then again; until "that team out west" bludgeons their way into acceptance amongst college football's elite.
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Moderator I saw a pregame video about Oregon's finesse going up against Michigan's power and just shook my head. You keep hearing about Michigan's stout NFL level D. They've given up 113 conference points. The Ducks have given up 63. tOSU has also only given up 63 and Penn ST 61. Pretty impressive except those two have only played four games compared five by the Ducks. The Ducks have the best D in the conference with a head coach that's also a defensive mastermind with the ability to out recruit almost anyone. Oh yes and I almost forgot, they also have a dominant offense with a Heisman candidate QB. It's fun to be the villain.
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Moderator Kudos to DL, and staff, that have brought in talent to compete with the top teams in the nation. Not really a villain, but the normal bullies of the conference know that the new kid is pretty darn tough.
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Moderator The B10 "blue bloods" don't like the whole "big and strong" conference narrative shattered by a newcomer in their very first year.

Excellent article. For all the reasons that Breiler mentioned, Michigan has got to be extremely highly motivated to play us. And after winning the NC last year, there also must be a lot of pride on the line as well. Nevertheless, they're about to get their butt's kicked starting in less than 24 hours.

Yep, it is the 2024 Oregon B1G SURPRISE Tour, as none believe it until they play us. I've stated many times this would happen, as Ohio State thought they would just come into Autzen, make it quiet, and "take care" of our "nice little team" in Eugene. They and their fans got surprised, and Michigan fans are in for the same. We are the Rodney Dangerfield of the B1G... Mr. FishDuck

November 1, 2024Nov 1 Moderator Cowherd: "Oregon dominates the West" Coaching means a lot in college football and, "Lanning is a perfect fit at Oregon"
November 1, 2024Nov 1 Well... I do think there are some B1G regrets! Are There Some B1G Regrets? | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM We are at the halfway point of the 2024 season and this new era of college football. The B1G added four... The answer in the media is at least... Yes.
November 2, 2024Nov 2 OBD announced, not unceremoniously, that the B1G is OUR pond! Welcome, please take the GA seats that you have been assigned, behind Duck reserve seats. If you wish to question/argue the seating arrangement? Please see THE usher--Dan Lanning.
November 2, 2024Nov 2 Moderator The B1G lack of respect for Oregon will come if tOSU beats PSU by 10-14 points. It won't be bolstering Oregon, it will be, "Wow, Oregon really got lucky" against Ohio State.
