Posted 14 hours ago14 hr Administrator No. You KNOW what I mean. How many times have we all thought...."this IS the year!" And our hopes were dashed by injuries, referees, weird stuff, etc.?We protect our hearts as Duck fans, we only want to believe to a point. But you have to admit--this is a GOOD TEAM. Dante Moore is so much better than I EVER anticipated, and made clutch plays as if he was a senior. We had freshmen play as if they were seniors...And we had coaches who took another big step UP.We have as much a chance of winning a 'Natty as anyone. Are ready to pull off the shield from your Duck-Heart and truly BELIEVE this is the year? Mr. FishDuck

They were fantastic and easily the next two running backs tonight. Limar looks like a pretty decent to good blocker but his running is frankly meh. And Whittington is a threat to be a home run but if he doesn't hit a big play it's often not for many yards. Meanwhile... Hill just ripped off yards using his speed and vision. Davidson had some fantastic blocks and some power runs. Seriously ... Get those two the ball more. They are the future and the best two running backs on the roster right now.

Reminded me of good old days of fullbacks as lead blockers and short yardage backs. I'm just waiting for them to line up in the I formation! Edited 13 hours ago13 hr by Dave23
13 hours ago13 hr No. I believe the trenches out muscled and out worked a very stout team tonight for one of the most hard nosed football games Oregon's had played in a long time. Reminds me of Stanford in the good old days.

Four games is the limit to maintain eligibility correct?
6 hours ago6 hr Moderator No. We will go as far as Dante Moore will take us, and based upon his decision making, and passing accuracy so far, that could very well be to the final game of the CFP. We have paid our dues, time to take that final step.
5 hours ago5 hr No. I woke up and I still can’t believe how well the run defense played yesterday. If they can continue to play like that, Oregon has a legit shot to beat anyone in the country. I love that we shortened the RB bench to Whit, Limar, Hill, and Davison. I believe those 4 are the best in that room. I suspect Hill and Davison will start to get a larger share of the carries as the year goes on. We already know we have the best coach in the country. But do we have the best QB too?? Moore was so calm and just picked them apart. That was outstanding.

It's true when Dan says come to compete... He means it.
4 hours ago4 hr No. Shamefully, this old Duck fan picked PSU to win in a close game. Mostly because i am a bad picker and OBD's do the opposite of my pick. They did not fail me.!Last nights dominant defensive performance gives me hope to dream of a Natty victory this year. Can they stay focused and continue to improve? I am confident they will.PSU's DC took the long pass play away from Oregon. They kept everything in front of them, however the Duck running game kept the chains moving. Eventually a very composed Moore found the short and intermediate passing routes for 3 TD passes. The in game adjustments that were sometimes missing in previous seasons were not missing in this game. The Duck O performed and excelled on the big stage! As a fan, i am confident they will improve even more. Especially with Moore, Moore and the baby freshmen. Go Ducks! Some of the Duck running backs may be at the redshirt threshhold and decisions will be made. However, as others have posted, Hill and Davison have earned their playing time. But we have 11 or 12 games to go before we can raise the trophy we all dream of, so I think DL will spread those carries around to keep players fresh.I hope that the Ducks take care of business in the first half so our backup QB's get meaningful game snaps. Go Ducks! Another top 10 team is coming to town in 2 weeks.
4 hours ago4 hr No. Touching my wooden desk as I type this - As long as we play as hard and smart as the first 50 minutes and the last 5 minutes of last night, we will get it done this year! This Ducks team is deep and talented enough to beat anyone. Plus we clearly have the best HC to lead and motivate. Go Ducks! Edited 4 hours ago4 hr by DuckFan93

3 hours ago3 hr Moderator No. I'm a Red Sox fan. This has to be the year, right? 🤪I loved the schedule coming into the season. It's playing out like I hoped. Dante Moore made a mature decision, rare for today's game and players, to improve his game, and he has done so. I loved the post-game moments with Dante and Dan on the field; both men were emotional. Game at a time. Run the gauntlet to a title in Miami, and that's 11 more wins needed to win it all. OBD definitely earned a PO mulligan last night. 10-2 and Oregon is in the field, even if SC and UW aren't, as someone predicted, ranked. Lincoln Riley scored too early, and UW couldn't score.Three Blue Chip Roster teams lost yesterday; Oregon did not. Yesterday was a banner day for PO selection and seeding. With the PO champ game in Miami, I want Mari-oh-oh! 😁 Dream On!

3 hours ago3 hr No. The Indiana game is much bigger than any of us probably imagined. Mendoza has looked great this far, although the Iowa defense held him to just over two hundred yards and under sixty percent passing. Oregon has a far better secondary and better line than Iowa. So that and the fact it's in Autzen leads me to believe Oregon should take care of business. The game at Iowa could be interesting, but it's nothing compared to what the Ducks just went through. I see another undefeated regular season and a chance at revenge in the B1G Title game vs Ohio State. Personally I think Oregon wants that rubber match more than any other potential opponent. Ohio State most likely wants it as well. They can't stand the fact that Michigan has won three conference titles and newcomer Oregon has won one since their last title game appearance and win.Old school B1G programs thought all the West Coast schools were too soft to compete in the old school conference. Well Michigan, Ohio State, and now Penn State twice have found out the Ducks have bite. Oregon is a tier one B1G program.
2 hours ago2 hr No. Every year we can dream, but this year we can really ponder. We need to keep improving and adapting to our strengths through the rest of the season.
2 hours ago2 hr Moderator No. I don't know if it's safe to dream yet but I do know that Ducky Krueger his haunting seventeen other BIG dreamers right about now,
2 hours ago2 hr No. OBD have far too many roadblocks this year to be looking forward beyond the very next game. Yes, we just beat a good team in a hostile environment 2500 miles away, but I am old enough to remember the last time Indiana came to Eugene. Unbueno.I feel good about two games: Minnesota at home and Wisconsin in a bowl full of tie dye (hopefully everybody gets the wardrobe memo).Iowa and Rutgers are going to be nail biters I am afraid. Washington in Seattle? Pissed USC? Yes, we should win each one, but a mistake or two could doom each of these games for us easily. After watching the Ala/GA game yesterday I am NOT convinced we have level of physical ability. Yet.

59 minutes ago59 min No. Congratulations to the players, coaches, staff and fans. Special kudos to those whose clutch plays preserved the victory: Dante Moore, Gary Bryant, Dillon Thieneman. Tip of the hat also to the opponent, who mounted a gallant comeback, and whose QB deserves more recognition and fewer catcalls. However, I could not escape the feeling that the Ducks had the game under control and nearly let PSU steal a victory after the U of O had outplayed them for three quarters. Thieneman accepted blame for the long pass play. I could not tell on TV, but it looked from the angle provided that he was still playing closer to the line of scrimmage than was prudent at that point in the game. The penalty for unsportmanslike conduct was inexcusable. I thought at the time that it would cost us the game. DL attributed PSU's late success running the ball to Xs and Os. He knows better than I, but it looked to me as if Oregon's defenders were getting blocked because they were tired. EAse to say, that more sbustitutions ought to have been made early, because Oregon was struggling on offense, but perhaps DL ought to have substituted more in the first half. Yes, there is reason to hope, but Oregon needs to learn how to finish games.
