  1. Past hour
  2. I’m a little surprised that Cal isn’t looking for an offensive minded coach, given how bad they’ve been on that side of the ball under Wilcox.
  3. Good point. Tosh isn’t the best defensive coordinator, IMO, but he is a fantastic recruiter. Coach Lanning has quite a track record with sending d-lineman to the NFL going back to his Georgia days himself and it will be important to find a DL coach who is a great recruiter and developer. I have no doubt that he will be able to find good coaching talent. Hopefully this does not affect our current recruiting commitments.
  4. Looks like they capped off the trip by losing by double digits to a 0.500 Creighton team. Double Ouch.
  5. That Ritalin kept them going for two years. The Fuskies can also brag how DeBoer stayed twice as long as Slick Willy.
  6. Hampton is already co-DC. I wouldn't be surprised if they keep the co-DC thing rolling by either promoting or finding another young up-and-comer. Little surprised that Lupoi is diving into the HC thing because he would have had opportunities before but I guess he just wanted this job. Good for him.
  7. It's totally "rich!" And that's why i did it. Dang, Ducks better win now. Yes, UW tough D, but I think Lanning wants to make a point to finish the season.
  8. Happy Thanksgiving my Duck friends.
  9. Today
  10. Happy Thanksgiving to all my OBD kinfolk!! In many ways you all are more my family than my birth family. I'm grateful for the camaraderie we share as we journey through life with at least one thing in common - our Love of Our Beloved Ducks!! Wishing all a Peaceful and Enjoyable Day!! Go Ducks!! 🦆🦆 🦆
  11. The Cal QB is one of the accurate I’ve ever seen, let alone as a freshman. But he is SLOW on foot, and that can hurt us on big plays.
  12. Sagapotule is an instant Heisman contender to whichever top tier program he goes to, and that top tier program is instantly a national contender. He came to Oregon before which should make us the leading contender for his services when he bails from Cal. But Moore would have to leave and Will Stein will have to stay, and who knows how good Akili Smith JR might be and they are the same class. So a lot of reasons why it wouldn't be us.
  13. Well, it’s quite possible to upgrade the defensive coordinator, and I’m sure there are some great ones out there externally, as well as internally that Lanning will look at, but our defensive line recruiting will absolutely be affected by the loss of Tosh. He was a fantastic recruiter, and has sent a lot of guys to the NFL from the defensive line at all the different places he has coached. Gains and losses…
  14. I would immediately make Hampton the interim DC (as a trial period), while you go through the search process, and let Tosh leave to focus on his new program.
  15. That cancer surgery can be traumatic in so many ways. Thankfully, I have avoided back complications, and hope it stays that way. Enjoy a healthy season!
  16. I am grateful for our Oregon DUCKS! I am grateful for the OBD Forum, Mr. FishDuck and all the Moderators. I am grateful for my family which are all healthy for Thanksgiving. GO DUCKS!
  17. For me, the ray of sunlight in an otherwise overcast era was the 1980 game in Seattle when Reggie Ogburn led us to a 31-10 upset of the 13th ranked Huskies.
  18. Wilcox! 🤣
  19. If Tosh leaves, I'd be just fine with Hampton being promoted to DC with a new LB coach being brought in.
  20. It looks like Tosh is expected to be hired by Cal. https://www.newsweek.com/sports/ncaa/tosh-lupoid-expected-california-oregon-college-football-11109087
  21. Increased hand wringing in Seattle
  22. Everything except the shoes. Which really doesn’t matter since the Huskies won’t have time to notice them anyway as they’re running by.
  23. If I recall correctly, that game wasnt on TV. I listened on the radio. Dinosaur days.
  24. As we are giving thanks, I wish to convey my extreme gratitude to all the volunteers who make this forum work so well. And for the tons of "polite and respectful" OBD members who post, start threads, and are so reasonable with differing opinions. (Strong opinions are encouraged!) The majority out there do NOT want civility, but this community cherishes it, and I am so thankful for all of you.
