While I did not labor through every play, I totally agree with Kamikaze Kid that JMU would have the upper hand on either team. It made me think that a super conference of 22 or so teams could not be all that far into the future.

Houston 38 - LSU 28 with 2 minutes left in the 4th Q and LSU deep in its own territory.

The B12 showed up today. BYU won a physical game. Houston leads LSU by 3 points with 6 or so minutes left. The conference may be better than given credit for and perhaps, Texas Tech didn't defeat a bunch of bad B12 teams. The ACC's UVA stifled the MIzzou O and won 13-7. Watching this game was almost as bad as watching Sex in the City reruns. The ACC, B1G, B12, and the SEC all had six teams that did not win six or more games. It's going to be interesting to see how the remaining bowls and PO quarter finals play out.

Kentucky has a RSo to be QB that played most of this season that apparently has fans pretty excited. He is a Kentucky kid who I guess was one of the highest rated in-state QBs to ever commit there back in 2024 (Cutter Boyle). He threw for 2160 yards leading UK to a 4-5 finish. I guess there was some panic he was going to jump in the portal with the coaching change and stayed (and there have been some comments from both Stein and new OC Joe Sloan backing Boyle as QB1). I don't see why Novosad would pick another spot where he enters as a junior behind a sophomore? (It sort of sounds a bit like Stein and Novosad would be start their tenure off with some unhappy Wildcat fans if Stein dumped the popular in-state kid for a guy with 15 career passes)

They will never be good again until they get rid of Dabo. He burned bridges with the African American community, then refused to utilize the portal in meaningful way, and I haven't heard anything about their NIL, he probably thinks it's bad for the moral character of the players to get a cut of the profits, and detrimental to the sanctity of the game. That's not a recipe for successful talent acquisition.

Can't claim victory yet, but 5-0 is way better than the SEC's 2-3, soon to be 2-4 if LSU can't pull it out VS. Houston.

Charles can get on me for saying this, but you must be a load of fun at parties. I saw two teams playing hard to win. It was fun to watch.

Thinking he will follow WS to Kentucky. Will recruited him here flipping from Baylor. I think Will & Dan knew all along that WS would be a head coach somewhere and Austin would be following.

I don't think it says anything about Dante, Novosad has had 3 years, if the coaches were telling him that he would need to fight for his job or that they intend to take a transfer than I'm pretty sure he would be transferring to somewhere where he has more assurance that he's going to play. It's been pretty obvious that this has been his plan all along.

JMU probably beats them both.

Just speculation, but some good reasons to hope it’s true. As you mentioned, he’s already proven to himself that being patient pays dividends, and another year of strength training and weight room work would really help to get his body ready for the likely pounding he’d take as a 1st round draft pick. Like Bear Alexander points out, there’s no development at the second level.

I guess we’ll more or less find out what was happening this year based upon the level of who is interested in him. I’m not personally invested in someone with 99 yards of passing in 3 years with us, but certainly wish him luck.

That could be the case. However, it could also be that Brock makes better decisions in practice. Sometimes QB’s with the stronger arms and the most athleticism give up more turnovers by trying to force things. My theory is that Austin knows that Dante is coming back for another season. It’s not unheard of. This is a guy who chose to transfer and then sit behind a veteran for a season to become a better QB.

I also love how the poptart mascots are basically eaten by players or other mascots. Or at least they did last year. It's a really wacky bowl game. Last year Miami and MC in that game was hilarious because he didn't want to lean into the wackiness of the bowl game.
