NCAA Officially Adopts New Transfer Portal Rules, Including Major Adjustment for Players After Coaching Change
This is better but could still be better. They have an opportunity to make the season almost perfect when they make the switch to a 14/16 team playoff after 2026. No byes before the playoffs, National Championship on Jan 1st, portal opens Jan 2! How can it be this difficult!?

Oh Beavis....Lost to Appalachian State?
I do believe their original O/U was 7.5 wins. The biggest koolaid swilling Beavis supporters had visions of no worse than 10-2 with a real shot at running the table at making the playoff due to their wise investment at QB. It truly is an incredibly light schedule (by design) and they completely faceplanted.

NCAA Officially Adopts New Transfer Portal Rules, Including Major Adjustment for Players After Coaching Change
The NCAA Division I Administrative Committee approved on Tuesday two significant changes to the transfer portal, shrinking the amount of time granted to athletes to declare their intention to pursue a transfer. Finalizing the modification brought forth last month by the FBS Oversight Committee, the college football transfer portal will have just one window to enter the portal moving forward rather than one in the winter and another in the spring. That window in 2026 will run for two weeks from Jan. 2-16. Because the 12-team College Football Playoff schedule extends deep into January, players participating in a postseason game on or after Jan. 12 will have an opportunity to start the transfer process during a five-day period that begins the day after their final postseason game. The second alteration pertains to the transfer exceptions granted to players after coaching changes. The exception currently allows players to enter the transfer portal during a 30-day window that opens the day after their coach leaves or is fired. The committee approved a new format, however, that is shortened to 15 days and begins five days after a new coach is hired or announced, seemingly in an effort to crack down on midseason portal activity. Both of these changes are expected to be finalized after the committee concludes its meeting on Wednesday. The transfer process will look much different for college football players

Oregon - Indiana Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
The Oregon Ducks had an incredibly successful start to the season, and with a bye week giving them a chance to sit back and assess the first five games of the year, they now look to enter the back-half of the schedule and be just as dominant as they were in the first half. That will start with a top-10 showdown against the Indiana Hoosiers this weekend, with ESPN's "College GameDay" coming to Eugene for the matchup. It will feature two very good teams looking to stay undefeated and remain in the lead in the race for a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game. Autzen Stadium will be alive and rocking with students back in town for the start of school, and the Ducks will be ready to showcase what their home-field advantage looks like after getting to witness Happy Valley a couple of weeks ago. What should the Oregon Ducks expect from Indiana Hoosiers offense?

In Hoosiers, the Ducks See Their Former Selves
Fun read Darren. Thank you and all the writers for your time and effort in preparIng and presenting your articles. This weekends matchup with the Hoosiers reminds me of our title game with the Buckeyes. Lots of talent on both side of the ball. However the Buckeyes were bigger, stronger and deeper in the trenches on both lines of scrimmage. The Buckeyes took a few punchrs to the face early but eventially pounded the Ducks, then took control of the game. The 2025 Ducks are bigger, stronger and deeper on both sides of the ball than the boys, from Indiana. Add in future NFL talent in the secondary and the uber talented skill position players on offense and we should see the Ducks take control of this game in the 3rd quarter. This game, as long as the Ducks play clean, mistake free ball should expose the Hoosiers weaknesses and lack of depth. It will be a good, hard fought game with the Ducks covering the spread! Throw in the Autzen crowd and Ducks win by 17 plus. This is a big stage for the Hoosiers and I am hoping the Ducks take them to the woodshed! We shall see...... Darren, Texas is a mess and Manning is just not playing well against equal or greater talent. PSU lost either its heart or soul or both to the Ducks and the Bruins then picked apart the carcass. PSU has a remaining schedule, if they win out, that can put them in CFP! I have my doubts..... Go Ducks.....

2026 Recruitment, Announcements, Interviews, Etc. (8)
The Oregon Ducks showed some interest in 4-star wide receiver Milan Parris earlier this fall, offering a scholarship to the fast-rising prospect who was previously committed to the Iowa State Cyclones. Parris now appears to be returning that interest, as well. On Tuesday afternoon, Parris announced that he was decommitting from the Cyclones and reopening his recruitment. He is now one of the top uncommitted prospects on the board in the 2026 class, rated by 247Sports as the No. 159 overall player, and No. 21 wide receiver. +He is expected to take a visit to Oregon at some point over the next several weeks and is strongly considering the Ducks. 4-star WR Milan Parris decommits from Iowa State after picking up Oregon Ducks offer

Does This All But Guarantee Dante Moore Returns to Oregon Next Season?
I think Dante should wait a year if there is a chance he goes to the Jets, Bears, Browns, or Raiders. Those seem to be teams where QB's go to die. This gives him a better opportunity to go to teams with aging starters who have had some measure of success. The best scenario would be if the Cowboys or Rams have bad seasons and get a chance at a high draft pick. Dallas has the Packers' first round picks for the next two seasons, so they have the bargaining chips to move to the #1 pick if they think he's their future. They should think about drafting Prescott's replacement and let them learn under him for a season or two.

Does This All But Guarantee Dante Moore Returns to Oregon Next Season?
If he is projected to be picked #1 in the draft, I would find it hard to believe he would pass it up. It would be nice to go to a better team, but so many things could happen in a second year with the Ducks. A dreadful season, hardly likely. A mediocre season, possibly still unlikely, a career ending injury, again still highly unlikely. Maybe the most likely scenario, a season ending injury. This could cause a drop to second or third round pick, a big drop in contract value, and still no guarantee of going to a good team. My guess anything above a #5 pick in the first round, will send him to the NFL. I don't think the Ducks could match it.

In Hoosiers, the Ducks See Their Former Selves
An up-and-coming program, little to no historical success, riding high on the strength of a high-powered offense. Just put some flashy (sometimes ugly) uniforms on the Indiana Hoosiers, and the Oregon Ducks are looking at the late 2000s version of themselves. 2007 was Chip Kelly’s first year as the Oregon offensive coordinator, and he took the Ducks’ offensive from very ... Coach Cignetti Has Nothing But Praise for Oregon in Press Conference
Cig seems to be brash mostly when bragging about this coaching accomplishments and is way too smart to give the Ducks bulletin board material. So, let's give him an experience on Saturday to make him more humble (if that's possible, lol).

I'll make this short and sweet--when (not if) CDL breaks through and hosts the big glass trophy, he will skyrocket to the top of the Ducks' coaching fraternity!

Oh Beavis....Lost to Appalachian State?
The odd thing is they probably should be 3-3, with three very winnable games left in Sam Houston, Lafayette, and Tulsa. They scored with 1:19 left to lead Fresno State 27-26. They dominated the stats (528 yards to 318 and 30 first downs to 15). The game included six botched special team snaps that led in part to 2 missed PATs and a missed FG. Trailed App State 27-21 in the 4th. Threw an interception in the endzone, got the ball back and drove down to 1st and goal from the App State 3 with 1:58 left. Got stuffed on 4 straight runs (one run initially ruled a TD and reversed). Still got a safety and free kick which they drove down to the App State 25 before throwing a game sealing pick. OSU won the stats again (456 to 354 and 27 FDs to 18). Led Houston by 14 in the 4th quarter. Drove down for a long FG attempt to win with 0:05 on the clock and had it blocked, lost in OT. Won the stats again (though closer: 390 to 352 and 22 to 17). If they managed 3-3, their remaining schedule is (Sagarin): Wake Forest: #75 Layfayette: #188 WSU: #99 Sam Houston: #194 @ Tulsa: #160 @ WSU: #99 What should have been a pretty cozy walk to at least something like 7-5 may well end up something like 2-10.

More B1G Duck Information
Watched the Indiana v Iowa game and noted that #74 (RG) and #75 (RT) had some serious issues with edge rushers and handling the blitz. They run blocked well but the entire line had pass pro problems that Oregon should be able to exploit. On defense I saw a lot of soft zone that Iowa, not exactly a stellar passing team, found holes in, particularly for the TEs over the middle and WR out routes. If Iowa's starting QB Gronowski had stayed in the game for the last two series, I believe they would have won the game. Indiana has a few vulnerabilities that are ripe for the picking on Saturday.

I think they are trying to keep neutral since both are BIG teams. I think most non-BIG are pointing out Indiana's issues with their O-Line.

More B1G Duck Information
I may have missed other discussions about the B1G Network. For me, with Comcast channel 726, B1G Network is a good source of Duck commentary. The program B1G Today has a blurb on Saturday’s game with Indiana that is very good. They point out that Mendoza, Indiana QB, played in Autzen two seasons ago for Cal, so he will not be surprised. Program runs again at 8:00 PM PDT.

Browns Trade Joe Flacco...so Dillon is THE MAN?
Extra special sweet as Browning was the Fusky QB that laid 70 on Oregon in Autzen in 2016. Worst home loss I've ever watched, even if freshman Justin Herbert showed flashes of what he would become. Oregon had won 12 straight over the leg lifters. Fusky ran up the score and Browning taunted the crowd while scoring just for good measure. Classy. Karma is a b*tch
