  2. By the way, there is a video on YouTube showing him doing a beautiful between the legs windmill dunk. I think he’s also a pretty great basketball player.
  3. Gatlin Bair is extremely talented. He has great hands, speed, and incredible leaping ability. I’m excited to see what he does next year.
  4. Interesting stat I saw that before the injuries to Moore and Bryant his snap count per game was going down. Basically he was losing his hold on his position in the lineup. With the injuries he stepped up in a big way. He absolutely needs the ball thrown his way more. One of my observations from game one was that he was sneaky in that he ran a good route and was a reliable receiver. More recently his speed is flashing and he is getting even more dangerous. Get him some touches and force the defense to guard everyone. I bet they can't.
  5. Benson to me is the #1 WR. TD vs Indiana, Clutch catch vs Iowa, TD vs UW and a punt return vs USC. He needs the ball thrown his way more often.
  6. Well, connections both good and bad. We have been attacked by global spammers from Russia, Pakistan, Vietnam and Germany recently. They have tried to register to mess us up, but my manual approval system now allows me to enjoy declining their application. On the positive side...I really appreciate everyone reading FishDuck.com articles, and ignoring the backlink sentence that helps to pay the bills. You know the sentence...something like, "Our Mr. FishDuck took a break from his degenerative addiction to a gambling site to weigh in on this topic." Know that I've NEVER actually gambled on any of these sites; I have vices, but not that one. We have THREE backlink orders this week, and they are global as well, from Sweden, Philippines, and Andorra. (Small postage-stamp ski-resort nation on the border of France and Spain) And....I do not allow backlinks to ADULT sites, but I have to admit that a site that invites you to create an AI girlfriend? I was tempted, simply for the timeliness and novelty of it. Just Giving THANKS to EVERYONE...
  7. If he can't get up to high point the football, WDWHA!
  8. Look how high his HEAD is to the rim....he doesn't have to dunk!
  9. This could be a huge break through (sorry beavs, four-digit deals are probably the best you will be able to do in your future). Sources: University of Utah nearing landmark private equity deal expected to generate $500 million - Yahoo Sports The move isn’t completely foreign to college sports. Over the last several months, a host of schools — Kentucky, Michigan State, Clemson — have announced the creation of a private, revenue-generating entity outside of the athletic department as college sports evolves into a more professionalized ecosystem. None of those schools have partnered with an equity firm.

  11. Interesting factoid- Ex duck Brandon Bair is from Rexburg Idaho & Gatlin Bair is from Burley Idaho, 2 hours apart. No proof of any relationship but....
  12. I would vote for Pavia, without him Vandy would be 6-6 at best. Indiana still would have won at least 10 games. That's just my opinion and we all know that opinions are just like.....
  13. Mendoza probably wins the Heisman... I'm fine with that. As long as we block them from a national championship I am even more fine with it.
  14. I actually think Benson is just as good of a match for EStew. JMac has been exceptional and I had predicted a big year for him with Stewart out. Getting GBJ and DAK back are the keys as Bryant is excellent finding the first down marker and sitting while DAK requires extra attention which is its own advantage. I'm more excited to see Poncho and the rest of the line healthy as our run game suffered mightily against that purple team. Either way we have more weapons than 2014 when Utah decimated our receivers, Sco Ducks
  15. I've been a big proponent of this idea. I think a 16 team playoff with a 16 team NIT would be a win win for everybody. Throw in economic incentives round by round and the players could stay motivated and the teams and fans get much more than a mere Tatter Tot Bowl invite.
  16. Great article David. In the past, when we had such injuries on offense? We were cooked... But now with a defense, and better depth in the trenches--we can survive these games and build depth as newbies get PT. But when just ONE of the wide receivers return? Look Out!
  17. Pretty sure you don’t need to worry about Gatlin being completely out of shape. His mom was an All-American pole vaulter, dad was a decathlete, and two of his brothers were decathletes. They have competed at high levels, and the whole family is supportive of each other, and aware of how to stay in shape. Doesn’t mean Gatlin will be a phenom, but I like his chances.
  18. What's the Over/Under on Heisman finalist Jeremiah Love and his coach, Marcus Freeman, sitting out the award ceremony? 😇
  19. Following the 2024 century-award winner, Dillon Gabriel, Fernando Mendoza has been named The Chicago Tribune's 101st winner of The Silver Football Award. The Silver Football Award is awarded to the Big Ten's best football player in a given season. The award is older than the Heisman Trophy, being presented for the first time in 1924 to Red Grange. 2025 award winner, Indiana's QB Fernando Mendoza, was announced on the B1G Today program by Union League of Chicago Vice President Bob Kreisman. 😁 Fernando is the front-runner for the Heisman Trophy and should win the award, depending on how many Southern Region voters prefer Don Diego Pavia over Don Fernando and leave Mendoza out of their top three. Congrats, Fernando! Now, you and your Cigs smoke Alabama/Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl, and perhaps, OBD will get revenge in the semi-finals.
  20. It does sound like sour grapes that ND is refusing to play in a bowl game, but it also makes me think of FSU playing in a bowl game against UGA after they got snubbed in 2023. They were missing like 20 starters or something and of course UGA just destroyed them! It was 63-3! I’m not saying that FSU would have won that game against GA if they had their true team, but they had zero chance with the opt-outs and everyone used that beat down as justification that the committee made the right call, when it’s obvious that FSU deserved a chance, even after losing their QB. I don’t have any idea how many ND players would have opted out, but the fact that they voted not to play makes me think many would have. This is likely a big reason to avoid the bowl game for the Irish. I’m certainly not a ND fan, but I can’t say I disagree with skipping a meaningless bowl if they were not going to have a team resembling their true 2025 team.
  21. "anyone who may have been offended" is the classic P.R. line in every non-apology. It means, I don't really believe I did anything wrong, but if someone didn't like it, then that person(s) is a loon. It ain't me, it's them. And, I ain't ever gonna admit I did anything wrong. I would say it again, except my P.R. mentor told me to quit while I was ahead.
  22. well maybe.. They have a clause that kicks in with the NCAA that if they are ranked in the top 12, they will be in the playoffs. if it was in place this year, they would be in.
  23. Here’s a thought; play the game and run up the score. Prove to these players that you don’t always get what you worked hard for but you need to take what you get and make it stellar! Also, this will help send a message to the CFB committee to get it right. 55-3 ought to do it, don’t ya think? Missed opportunity IMO.
  24. If basketball can support an NIT, why not football? If nothing else, it would make for a bunch of very happy cities that might otherwise be cut out of their traditional, year-end economic celebrations. Could even keep the NIT acronym: Next In-line Tournament?
  25. We have the highest ceiling of any team in the playoffs with a floor that is right around our #5 seed/rank. Get your popcorn out, because we'll have to watch the games to see who and what shows up.
