Indiana Boasts Secret Weapon in Peach Bowl Rematch vs Oregon
"Awww, c'mon, man!" What's a little hand fighting between frenemies ?

Limar Hits the Portal
Terrible timing indeed. I also noticed that OBD hasn't landed anyone in the portal yet. Maybe nobody is right, but also the coaches may not have time to look...

Is THIS Why Dante Moore Might be Returning to Oregon?
As Sark recently noted, the pay-for-play demands by player agents are often absurd, and the reported 'salaries' are exaggerated. However, FWIW, QB Brendan Sorsby, transferring in from Cincinnati, has reportedly signed a deal with Texas Tech worth $5 million for one season, and Indiana is reportedly paying close to the same, bringing in QB Josh Hoover from TCU. The NFL Billionaires have learned to play nice with one another. But CFB Billionaires? Texas Tech and Indiana are currently at the top of the 2026 portal rankings. Neither program is going away. "A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money." Oregon Football: Peach Bowl Score Prediction vs Indiana
I know Indiana is a threat every game. My real concern is more centered around which version of our Ducks shows up.

From The Athletic's Bruce Feldman, there is no starting player on the Indiana defense rated higher than a 3* coming out of high school or from the portal. 247 Sports Combined Roster Rankings for the Final 4 - OBD - 5th/ Miami - Fifteenth/ Ole Miss - 21st/ Indiana - 72nd - That Indiana is odds on to win it all speaks for itself when it comes to the quality of the coaching. OC Mike Shanahan (no relation to the 49ers Kyle) and DC Bryant Haines have been with Cignetti for nine-plus seasons. Both coordinators earned substantial pay raises. Haines's new deal pays him more than the now-unemployed Jim Knowles made last season at Penn State. Based on what Kiffin and other new hires are being paid, Cignetti, with a contract that contains a 'fair market value' escalator clause, is in line for a million-dollar-plus increase in his base pay. I'd say Curt has received a 'pretty good' return from betting on himself as a head coach. Curt and friends have brought Indiana football out of the sub-sub-basement with practices that are shorter than the vast majority of FBS programs. Cliche? Yes, but Indiana's roster is packed with We and not Me football players. To date, Indiana and Texas Tech are leading the 2026 transfer portal rankings; both have found new QBs for 2026. Indiana is bringing in quality players on both sides of the ball. One of the many mistakes the 'experts' made in the preseason was writing Indiana off as a one-hit wonder. BUT, HAMMER THE HOOSIERS!

Indiana Boasts Secret Weapon in Peach Bowl Rematch vs Oregon
I just want some Offensive PI calls, Indiana in their game against us was pushing off on those 8-12 yard out patterns all game long, hard to defend when the receiver is blatantly extending their arms in order to get open.

Limar Hits the Portal
Oregon RB Jayden Limar will leave the Ducks to pursue a transfer https://share.google/7twi5UK2xOHaKgvBL Another potentially important depth loss for Oregon in the RB room down the stretch along with Hughes and Harris. Harris was at practice yesterday and perhaps will stay thru the playoff run. If he is gone today, the RB room is getting pretty thin with Riggs injured. This is probably why linebacker Platt was seen practicing with the RBs yesterday. He played a fair amount of RB in HS. This transfer window timing bs is really stinging OBD.

They only have 11 defensive penalties so far this year. That's pretty amazing considering the amount of defensive holding and PI calls that are made.

That's cool. I must have missed the first time around. Or old age CRS.

I've found that it depends on who's reporting the injury. There is an insider at ON3 named Hopkins who is usually pretty accurate. He reported all of the injuries (Moore, Bryant, et al) before the Iowa game.

A random jump into the AI weeds, it does seem like people do break their collarbone and not know it (apparently a lot by falling off their bikes). Initial soreness that gradually increases. 🤷♂️

Noah Whittington has proven he can carry the load in big games. Limar just entered the portal. It might be why Harris is sticking around for the week.

Hopefully he is able to stay with the team for the next 2 weeks to keep our depth.

Indiana Boasts Secret Weapon in Peach Bowl Rematch vs Oregon
This is the last Covid shirt year I believe... and apparently Indiana has a lot of the few players remaining in their 5th and 6th years. Michigan and Washington both benefited greatly from the Covid shirt in 2023 as they had rosters heavily laden with 5th and 6th years as well.

I'm not going to say it's impossible for that to have happened in the 1st quarter, but it seems highly unlikely that the medical staff would allow a player to play with a broken collarbone.

Is THIS Why Dante Moore Might be Returning to Oregon?
The top NFL quarterbacks of today are also very good rushers - Mahomes, Nix, Allen, Jackson etc. Dante is not. Great arm, yes.

Is THIS Why Dante Moore Might be Returning to Oregon?
I can't remember where I read it, but college QBs drafted in the 1st round tend to have a sweet spot of number of starts for success in the NFL. I think the number of starts is between 25-35 for their college career. I think 1 more year would be a benefit to Dante, but having a guaranteed 40+ mil is hard to turn down. I hope the right people are talking to him and show him a long career vs a short career is a better choice.

first and foremost we need a O line for next year.

Discipline, execution and maturity are the three qualities that make the Hoosiers a great football team. They're well-coached. They rarely make mistakes and in their second year at the top of college football, never beat themselves. They don't do dumb stuff," Chris Fallica of Fox Sports said on social media. He notes that in addition to being the top seed in the College Football Playoff, the Cignetti's veteran team leads in several important categories: 2nd fewest Penalty YPG Lead in TO margin - just 8 TO all season 3rd down defense - 3rd 28% Lead in 3rd down conversions - 56% To match them, a team has to be not only talented but play a nearly perfect game. The Hoosiers execute with precision in all three phases, and they are assassins in the fourth quarter. Sheesh! Their average age on offense is 22.3 years old. Oregon Football: Peach Bowl Score Prediction vs Indiana
Alex's prediction of a game played in the twenties seems plausible, considering how well both defenses played in their previous games. Defending Indiana is a different and greater challenge than defending Texas Tech, however. There has been much discussion of Oregon's offense on another thread. It seems to be me that more discussion of the challenge facing our defense might be worthwhile. Indiana still runs a RPO (run-pass option) offense. What I was able to glean from a quick survey online is that the QB typically reads one opposing defender, usually a LB or safety. The concept is to put the defender in a dilemma: if he plays pass, the box is too light; if he plays run, the short passes are open. There are various ways to defend it, but it appears to me the decision-making of the LB or safety is crucial. I am hoping that Thienemann is the player who is read, but Cig may not oblige us in that way. Often the player read is the weak side LB, which I believe would be Mixon. One Indiana website noted that Indiana's RPOs are much less effective in third and long situations, because the run option threat is not convincing. Joel Klatt also noted that Indiana is good on third down because they are good on earlier downs. To use a baseball analogy, it is important to throw a first pitch strike to this hitter. I am interested to know what the coaches, players and other experts have to say, if anyone has the time.

Is THIS Why Dante Moore Might be Returning to Oregon?
The biggest reason for him to stay is to not end up with the Raiders or the Jets.

I believe there suppose to be an updated injury list coming out sometime today. Let’s hope this is not true. 🤞
