  6. Very entertaining, well-written article; nice job.
  7. Then watch the pure, clean, parsimonious, never-NIL-paying Tennessee fans react with outrage that Uncle Phil has bought another recruit.
  8. Good question: Dicky has been "showing potential" for a long time now, without ever actually achieving that potential. Don't know if it's an injury, or what. Also, some of the highly touted freshman, such as Elijah Rushing and Jericho Johnson, have not seen the field to my knowledge. And, what's up with Matthew Bedford? Is he game fit and in the rotation?
  9. Many of our fellow fans seem to oscillate between suicidal despair and maniacal overconfidence, depending on the latest game, or even on the latest half of a game. Take a deep breath, it's a long season.

  11. How about if BSU had not scored all those points, the Ducks would have not needed the contributions from the special teams. The "If not this, then..." blather is just one more cliché in the windbag sports commenters' giant bag of clichés. They're just filling all that airtime.
  12. Brilliant analysis and hugely informative, Charles; thank you for the time and effort. I sure hope the issues are largely correctable. Trouble is, BSU has been watchiing the same tape.
  13. And, the results are good! “…playing in what appears to be the Rose Bowl for the Ducks against Georgia, and he evades Bulldog defenders en route to the game-winning touchdown.”
  14. "Pete, who?" I'm speaking without authorization for the youth of America, and maybe even for some of their parents. The Pete Carroll era at USC was from a dim, dark, distant past that not a lot of people under -say - 40 much remember anymore. And, at 72? No Way.

  19. I think it's funny that when players try to maximize their financial situation, some people find it outrageous. But, when coaches, administrators, anybody else basically, bargain for the most they can get, it's just fine, the way things are supposed to work. Why the difference?
