  1. Interesting takes on the current and future coaching tree/changes developing under the DL era. I think we will Always see high football IQ guys come and go under Lanning, but the "relationship" expectations will always be pivotal in DL's coaching hires. Regardless on the paths and directions coaching OBD takes over the next decade and into the future, it is good to read that fans are coming to terms with the fact that a successful NFL-lite football program is naturally going to have coaching turnover. Ours is just going to be....Elite! Go Ducks!
  2. Agree with most sentiments voiced but would also like to add that it will be the eighth game straight in our inaugural season in the B1G. This team Will be tired and if still undefeated, ripe for a letdown game. Let's also not forget of the unspoken rivalry between the schools especially in Football and Basketball. Always competive. Will be quite the challenge for the coaching staff. That being said. No one knows what the rest of the college football landscape will look like in a month. But if OBD picks up a loss at that point in the season it won't hurt their playoff push and might give them a late season "jolt" to refocus for the final push towards the National Championship game. I guess that's why we tunein, week in and week out, to see what actually happens. Go Ducks...keep rollin' along!
  3. With the 12 to 16 teams playoffs the conference championship games will either be eliminated, or most likely to become the first round of games in the playoff format. We are half way through the regular 12 game season. But this years top teams will get another entirely "new" season of up to 4-5 games AFTER the regular season. So roster management and prepping for the end of season gauntlet against top teams After your regular 12 game season is a new power dynamic to be ready for. Seems to me that managing playing time over the course of a season will become more and more pivotal in reaching and winning the national championship on any given year. Let's hope our Beloved Ducks are up for the challenges presented. GO DUCKS!
  4. Oregon wins: 45-16 2 T.O. 5 Sacks 237PY. (247 R.Y). Expect a focus on solidifying the running game) Reality check for the Illini forthcoming.
  5. What? Whatt?! Whhhaaattttt!?!? WWHHAAATTTTTT!!!!!!!? DAMN! Anyone here know sign language? Live and learn B1G...live and learn. Autzen Stadium. Concert level decibels! (Maybe I can make my fortune selling, B1G team themed, earplugs to visiting fans?!?!?!) Go Ducks!
  6. Like It. The blacks delineate the yellows and gives the whole package a very sharp and definitive look. Bumblebee you say? Well let the bumblebee 'transform" the "decepticon" Illini right out of the top 25. No "autobot" about it. Thank you, I'll see myself out the door! Yeah...going Quackers!
  7. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Great teams make good teams look....average. We got ourselves a Great Team! Let's Go Quackers!
  8. YAAAAAAAWN! Wake me when they have Sheldon scheduled. Now THAT might actually be an entertaining and competitive game! Still laying the points on the Irish. Go Ducks (Boo Beavs)
  9. Hmmmm. I really like Whittington and he was a great duo when Bucky was here. For whatever reason he has seemed to have lost that initial "step" that he had before his injury. A switch to wide receiver would negate that and give him the room to operate in space, which seems to play to his strengths. Both our receiver and running back rooms are loaded and deep. Regardless, he has too much talent and field vision to waste those talents in a position that his future at is....limited. Hope the Oregon coaches can find the way to maximize what they have with Whittington. I would sure love to see him back at the playing level he was at before injury. Here's Hoping. GO DUCKS!
  10. Then, Bret B. moves into the lead as Head Coach of the Year. (Taint gunna 'appen). Currently The Number One team in the country At Home. Halfway through the 8 game B1G gauntlet. Dynamic, innovative, coaching staff-laser focused on the programs goals and aspirations. A TEAM that has bought in and exudes the confidence in each other AND themselves. Oregon vs. Oregon. FEBU. YEAH, the Illini Will give OBD their Best Shot, may even lead for a while early. But in the end this team will "take care of business at home" and send the Illini off with their second loss of the season, with a much clearer picture of what they have to do in Champagne to be able to compete at the level of OBD. GO MIGHTY OREGON! Incinerate the Illini! 's
  11. I like to call this phenomenon the "Red Zone Channel" effect. In an age of almost instantaneous replay/recast access we fans tend to view the "highlights" as the whole of a team. Rarely do teams play a "complete" game, but if your not watching it live...you miss the failed executions of plays that never make the same levels of exposure. (Unless your obsessed with OBD performances the first two games, ie Klatt and the talking head community). I remember, distinctly screaming at the TV, when C. Kelly went for it on fourth down or attempted to secure a TD over a "chip-shot" field goal, and the team failed to execute. Anyone else remember those moments from the past? Unlikely, cause we Only like to tunein to the successful "highlights", which tend to bury the "lowlights", especially when winning in the end. By human nature there is NO Team that can, and will, put forward their best effort, with no drop offs, week in and week out, for upwards of 16-17 games. One of the biggest "mental" issues that coaching staffs' have to address, daily. If you are looking for "perfection", or close to it, then you are a fan of the wrong sport. OBD has a "handle" on this phenomenon (FEBU) and I am happy and hopeful from what I see from this team, week in and week out. And although I want "perfection", I know realistically all I can truly expect is improvement and the highest floor possible for the coaches, players, and this team as we move through this inaugural season on the B1G. Go Quackers! Squash the Illini and their hopes of competing with the Top Ducks in the conference!
  12. We will see if Our Beloved Ducks Deserve (Earn) the Number One, come season end. After all that's the only one I care about. GO DUCKS!
  13. Maybe just a little how Alabama Fans are feeling right about now. Better beat Tennessee this weekend or DeBour will "feel" Day's pain.
  14. Ultimately, Lanning was right: the B1G is going to have to adjust to Oregon. They let a wolf into the conference thinking it was sheep and now they’re paying for it. BEST Darn sentences in the WHOLE article. Let's Go Quackers!
  15. Oregon wins 46-17. 2 turnovers 5 sacks 325 yds rush GO DUCKS! IMPLODE THE BOILERMAKERS!
  16. And who was it that said, We couldnt have "nice things"?
  17. Good. Graves needs ALL the help he can get. Buttocks feeling a bit....toasty? Elevate da B-gals!
  18. Lots of first in this game. First road trip after a top 5 matchup victory. First "true" B1G road trip in this new conference. (OohCLA doesn't count...been there done that). First "conference" road trip, on a short week, two time zones away. (Time to update your frequent flyer miles?!) First road trip as a B1G conference Leader, thus big ole' target on their backs. I do not believe (closing my eyes, crossing my fingers) we will see much of a letdown from this team going into Purdue. I don't think the coaching staff is going to allow it (FEBU). I expect to see continued growth and playing relatively mistake free football. Want to see the "seconds" in the fourth quarter and see Oregon hit the spread AND the over. Guess we all get to see it play out a little over 18 hours from now. 's
  19. Personally, I have no real issues with Day, 'cept for the mild aire of entitlement (probably a prerequisite for the position anyway) that surrounds him on the sidelines and in interviews. He is a good X's and O's coach (although just a "step" behind ours) and with tOSU NIL program and school history, is able to recruit quite well. I know the standard at tOSU is Extremely High, but with the 12 to 16 team playoff formats in place, the focus should be simply getting there with as complete a roster as possible. I hope tOSU will have the patients to let Day grow, and hopefully adapt, to keep tOSU competitive even if it's not undefeated or one loss seasons each and every year. Which might be hard for tOSU fans to digest. (How hard would it be for OBD fans if Lanning and company were to lose in the playoffs to...Alabama?!) I think a long-term, competitive, dynamic, salty, rivalry between tOSU and Might Oregon, thus Day vs Lanning, would not only bolster the strength and reputation of the B1G but also help elevate the new Nfl-lite as a whole. Of course only time (and money) will tell; but fans everywhere are needing to "temper" their season long expectations until it is known how all the "dynamics" of this new "league", and how all the playoffs seedings and guaranteed conference participants in said playoffs, actually play out. Until then let's ALL hope for several games each season that gives us what we got in the most recent rendition of Mighty Oregon vs tOSU. GO. DUCKS!!
  20. Yes, I believe a lot of this has been "glossed over" by all the focus being on the "twelve man play". Which is a shame cause we actually have a very good, entertaining football team that actually wins games "before" the final ten seconds (but will do it then also, when we have to). Guess we will just have to put the 42-24 beat down on tOSU in the B1G championship game to prove the point. Oh well, just add it to our TODO list. Go Ducks!
  21. Gotta Absolutely LOVE IT!!! Lanning said himself that this particular scenario in college football is an extremely rare situation. The fact that DL and company not only "knew" of this, but in fact had prepared for this contingency IS a "stroke of genius". Remember this. If Ryan Day or tOSU QB had recognized the twelfth man they could have used that to Their advantage. But, in the heat and pressure of the moment, they did not. But all that aside. The media exposure and coverage of this single play, college rules committee "discussions" and potential mid-season rules changes, problems of having two similar, but with significant differences, rules between the NFL and NFL-lite, and the message to recruits/transfers that the staff you're joining under, leaves NO stone unturned in being knowledgeable and competitive at ALL facets of the game; is giving more to Oregon Football than just simply scoring the win against tOSU. None of this would be happening today without that single, unconventional call, that actually succeeded as intended. (Wonder what the narrative would be if it had played out....differently?) Point being. Dan Lanning Is not only "entrenching" himself in the hearts and minds of Duck fans. He is becoming an "icon" of the new NFL-lite landscape and masterfully positioning the Oregon Football program for some longterm, consistent, competitive success. I no longer have ANY Doubts that this Coach and his staff WILL be the ones who bring Oregon Football it's very first, and probably more, National Championship. But for now. One game at a time. Implode the Boilermakers! Go Ducks!
  22. Is this what they meant by living long enough to watch your "heroes" become "villains"?! Guess we'll have to "deal" with it...but so will they! That Team Out West Ducks VS Them Points VS Clicks Grass Is Pretty Damn Green 's
  23. Tua Tagovaliola has entered the chat.
  24. Something I think the young, freshman, phenom receiver Knew and tried to exploit but was just a little too....obvious...in his pushoff. Two months from now, three months from now, or again when we see him next year, he will NOT be as obvious, which in turn will make him that much more dangerous. If it had been Oregon driving for field goal range and Tez did the same move, I would be pissed, but NOT because of the call but because of the dumb-assed, obvious, pushoff from our wide receiver in a Critical moment of the game. Still a llooonngg season to go and now with even a Bigger Target on OBD's backs. Round One to Oregon. The vitrol building, from whatever sources that feed it, has the makings of creating a fierce, bitter, competitive rivalry between Mighty Oregon and tOSU. Two more rounds to go in twenty-twenty four?! YES PLEASE! Go Oregon Ducks! Own the B1G!
  25. At this point I believe that it is just the Legend of Cam Rising and he has Not actually proven to be real. Kinda like Icabob Crane and The Headless Horseman. Cam Rising legendary existence will fade into the "history of" the Utah football program. Such is life? Or proof of life?
