  1. Beavis and Huskies are waayyy beyond...sporting confrontations. They be personal! Carry on senor', carry on! 😁
  2. Autzen ZooHilarious JMU X account turning heads with witty Oregon f...In the lead-up to the CFP clash between James Madison and Oregon, one fan stands alone as the voice of good-natured ribbing and droll insults.Good to see that there are others out there, like our Mr FishDuck, that can find breavity instead of negativity, in our sporting confrontations. Fun Stuff!
  3. First of all. Thanks for framing it as "best" path through the playoffs cuz' No Game should/would be easy. Best get that out of the way. That being said..... GO DUCKS! BEAT DOWN THE 'DUKES!
  4. National Football FoundationRob Mullens to Receive 2025 NFF John L. Toner Award - Nat...IRVING, Texas (August 5, 2025) – The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced today that Rob Mullens, the Director of Athletics at the University of Oregon, will be the reciJust helps remind me that the success we see on the field is truly a "Team" effort, even those working behind the scenes to move our program forward in today's college athletic landscape. Congratulations and THANKS for all you have done for Oregon. Well deserved.
  5. From what I have read, and heard, that most "Mormon players" that are serious about both their "mission obligations" and their football careers take seriously the need to at least maintain some level of training, knowing that they intend on returning to football once their faith obligation has been fulfilled. Serious players take their routines, seriously. Let's hope Bair be one of em. We shall see in a lil over eight months. 😁
  6. LOL. Sounds a whole lot like how the NFL-Heavy works regarding practices. Strength, flexibility, precision, and stanima being a whole lot more important than "grinding it out" during practice to prepare for "grinding it out" in a game. After all, these players are already at peak physical conditioning, more important to fashion those skills towards an actual opponent, rather than each other. I'm sure there is a balance somewhere between the two extremes. QUACK!
  7. What I think a large number of pundits and fans alike seem to forget or have not actually realized, is that this Oregon team is suppose to be a rebuilding/reloading team compared to the other top teams in the nation. The significant number of freshman starting on both sides of the ball plus new faces on both O and D lines, and a "new" starting QB that has performed better than expected, based on previous starting performances, had most thinking a minor stepback would occur (guess going from #1 seed to a #5 is a "stepback?). But, here we are with probably a better chance to "run the table" than we did last season. If Dante actually does return next season then OBD will be an even stronger unit and actually in a better position to compete in 2026 than they were this season. Which, I'm sure, is a scary, scary thought for not only the B1G, but the rest of NFL-lite football. 🦆🏈🪨's!
  8. I do believe all the "outrage" is to strongarm the NFL-lite participants into accepting "terms" they might not necessarily want or agree with. IE: eight to nine conference games for SEC/ACC. Push for automatic qualifiers for top two mega-conferences. The continued dilution of the importance of the conference championship games. The bottom falling out of the mass amounts of "bowl games" that play to mostly empty stadiums with "depleted" rosters from opt outs. The narrative to include other (Western state) "bowls" via Vegas/SOFI stadium to even out playoff travel during an ever expanding playoff qualifiers size. And the one, thorny, money-centric, issue of a supposedly annual championship contender, NOT playing in a conference with a somewhat equal number of home/away games, instead of the "pick and choose" scheduling allowing up to 9 home games to be played as an independent. Yeah, the Entire NFL-lite be looking, Hard, at you Notre Dame! Basically it is easier to piss off and inconvenience people into accepting your... intentions...if you let the unfairness run it's course till the peoples, organizations, fans, and money brokers (Oh Wait! The money brokers are actually the ones "breaking it to fix it" according to the business plans they want in place, sorry) are screaming for the change that was wanted initially in the first place by the powers that be. In the end it will become what is wanted and needed to continue to pimp and grow the NFL-lite model envisioned. As long as OBD is competing annually in whatever iteration of NFL-lite playoffs, I be a Happy Man! Go Ducks! 🦆
  9. Excited about this championship seeding run. Opponents and locations line up nicely. If OBD "wins it all" and brackets run pretty much chalk, not only would we avenge the IND loss (At Home, No Less!), but put Ohio St. as only the third best team in the B1G/College Football, behind only IND and OBD. B1G conference headquarters probably burning sacrifices to the Football Gods to make it so. LOL.😆
  10. Hmmmm...let's do the math. A "kabillion" dineros for exclusive broadcasting rights for the ability to sell enough advertising dineros', to pay for the said broadcasting rights. Well...duhhh. Going to cover our butt...ocks the SEC championship game regardless of records and PO implications. 😁
  11. Goodbye Sir Will Stein. Thanks for the memories of one of the most "balanced", and entertaining offenses in OBD history. Glad that you have secured a position back "home" and wish you all the success you have worked for, and deserve (except in our future meetings on the gridiron 😉). Thanks for sticking around to coach our offense towards its first national title 🤞. But as OBD has, successfully lived by for decades now...Next Man Up. (Hmmmm...isn't that now TWO Oregon OC under Lanning to secure Head Coaching positions, elsewhere? Beginning of Sir Lannings "coaching tree".) GO DUCKS!
  12. NFL-Lite "growing pains". Problems are unequal/uneven scheduling during regular season (thanks mega conferences). Conference championship games becoming less relevant, and actually becoming more problematic for playoff teams (but gotta crown a conference champion on the field). Long-term (iron-clad?) Bowl contracts that many communities that host them, Depend on annually since the era of college football "pagentry" (making it rather unfair for most teams playing west of the rockies). Traditionalist dedication to 'ole timey college football mentality and Not willing to accelerate the push to full-on NFL-lite (How has that worked out for the NCAA over the past quarter century?). The continued and frustrating "manipulations" from media and conference power brokers in attempting to NOT have a level playing field, by advantaging loopholes and unforeseen missing "guardrails" to further their own agendas over the benefit of the whole. I could rant go on, as I imagine many of you could easily add to these...observations. But in the current iteration of these growing pains, combined with how very young this team is, I want that One game here, at home, in the weather, in front of us ravenously, delirious, "scream and 'O' till we are hoarse by the time "Shout" echoes out throughout the Willamette Valley" Game! What a way to "Prime the Pump" and get OBD's juices a flowin' to run through (literally) the final two games to our first "Natty" of our hopes and dreams! Said it before and will continue to say it again. 🦆🏈🪨's !
  13. Can you point to, on this "Duck Mascot" Doll where exactly did it "hurt (butt-hurt?)" you. Yeesh in even my most emotional state I don't believe I have ever become this....unglued...about a sporting team. There is a reason the Trojans are tagged as USuC! Sounds like frustration to me. Oh well. GO DUCKS! 👍
  14. Ducks Win! 32 - 23 2 T.O. 3 SKS 223 yds pass (+200 yds run)
  15. 44-13. DUCKS! 3 TO 3 SKS 231 Pass Yds. IN THE RAIN, for a third game in a row! Get the "pundits" talking in the positive about OBD, again. GO DUCKS!
  16. What was it that Al Davis said waaayyyy back in the pre-history times of the 1970's (dang, am I an old one) "JUST WIN BABY"!
  17. Part of Daisy became part of you, and that will forever be her legacy. Cherish that part of Daisy-You. Peace be with you.
  18. Heck! I WANT to be on the Indiana side. This year would be Ohio St's "last year" for us. To have the opportunity to "right the wrong" done at Autzen before tearing through to the championship game. Plus maybe getting the chance to take down Alabama (Debour) and/or maybe Miami (Cristobal) along the way, well what do they say in the Mastercard commercials..."Priceless"! But first things first. Got us some gopher, trojan, and husky-dogs to pound down first! 🦆🏈🪨's
  19. I remember the "push" for conference championship games to bolster resumes and have true conference champions, instead of tie-breakers; to be the "chosen ones" in the BCS, two team playoffs. Now with 12 going to 16 playoff spots you will start to see NFL-lite teams "resting their starters" for the playoff run (similar to NFL-Heavy)rather than risk injury for what is increasingly becoming a consultation prize (a conference championship). I would really like for the conference championships be part of the playoffs, maybe like what has been mentioned before, winners get a bye and losers get home game against "the field", but you now have played one more game than "the field", whom would be off on their own byes, during the conference championship games. Not much incentive to risk being second in CCG. So, most likely they will go away, again, and "conference championships" based once again on win-loss records and tiebreakers, with uneven scheduling do to the size of the mega-leagues, will diminish the prize even more. Hope they can figure it out, cuz working towards a conference championship throughout the year makes the in season games more significant, and probably more entertaining (Oregon/Iowa last week), than simple win-loss records at the end of the year. Go Quackers!
  20. Isn't the reason we have multi-team playoffs is to allow for the "most" high caliber teams to prove it on the field? Get in and prove your "mettle" when it counts the most. Heck of a lot better than what came before. Let's Go NFL-Lite!
  21. Ehhh..Haters Gonna Hate. And honestly OBD hasn't really lived up to the "expectations" coming from the PAC. JUST FAR EXCEEDED EM!! Tooo bad...Sooo Sad B1G Boys. Get used to it. There be a new "Sheriff in Town". GET USED TO IT! Ain't going No Where! (But UP!) Let's Go Ducks.
  22. All of these observations is simply because Oregon has been ready to compete with the best in the nation for quite awhile now. Since Slick Willie we have recruited, and developed NFL caliber players. (Just watch one weekend of NFL football and see how many names you hear from Oregon). The problem was being "locked in" the PAC12, notorious for getting no media respect and cannabilizing each other, especially "after dark". Where a two loss Alabama, Georgia, Ohio St still had a shot at the 4 team playoff, the PAC was never given the same consideration. Even One loss was viewed "as suspect", depending on who it was against (wash st., cal, etc.). So, "TV" collapses the PAC and Oregon/Washington (thrown a bone) to come and play with the B1G boys. The chance Oregon had desperately been looking for, for years, to legitimize the quality of the program. With a new and ambitious coach, Oregon took its opportunity and ran with it! (Especially last week, all over Iowa😁). This was not suppose to be. Because of the "narrative" about the PAC, and it's "flashy" perennial leader Oregon, and that Oregon was just that....flash and no bite and we have, resoundingly, repeatedly, made them "eat their words". And this has and continues to leave a bad taste on their mouths. OBD is NOT making friends in their new conference and in fact painting a huge target on their backs (Indiana game comes to mind), something I believe OBD haven't quite come to realization and/or grips with. But they will. Ten years from now ( With D. Lanning still leading the way) after several conference championships and a Natty or two all anyone will think about the Ducks is, "Boys...this is the game of the year for us...beat Oregon and you will prove we have become legitimate contenders". Because you will have to be "legitimate" to beat OBD! 🦆🏈🪨's
  23. ESPN/FOXSPORTS made the decision decades ago, regardless of conference leaderships. Needed to trim one of five conferences (would have preferred two but Clemsons Nattys and low-ball, ironclad, TV deal "saved" that conference) and the PAC was doomed. Never liked it. Never wanted it. But it is what it is. In our current economic models, "most" money wins! Long term consequences be d@mned cuz there will Always be Opportunity in Capitalizing on any carnage that follows. Self perpetuating cycles. OBD realizes this and acts accordingly as any successful "business" would. Go Ducks.
  24. Ducks "survive" WINNING one hard nosed game. 23-16. 1 TO 2 SKS 189 Pass Yds
