Heck! I WANT to be on the Indiana side. This year would be Ohio St's "last year" for us. To have the opportunity to "right the wrong" done at Autzen before tearing through to the championship game. Plus maybe getting the chance to take down Alabama (Debour) and/or maybe Miami (Cristobal) along the way, well what do they say in the Mastercard commercials..."Priceless"! But first things first. Got us some gopher, trojan, and husky-dogs to pound down first! 🦆🏈🪨's

I remember the "push" for conference championship games to bolster resumes and have true conference champions, instead of tie-breakers; to be the "chosen ones" in the BCS, two team playoffs. Now with 12 going to 16 playoff spots you will start to see NFL-lite teams "resting their starters" for the playoff run (similar to NFL-Heavy)rather than risk injury for what is increasingly becoming a consultation prize (a conference championship). I would really like for the conference championships be part of the playoffs, maybe like what has been mentioned before, winners get a bye and losers get home game against "the field", but you now have played one more game than "the field", whom would be off on their own byes, during the conference championship games. Not much incentive to risk being second in CCG. So, most likely they will go away, again, and "conference championships" based once again on win-loss records and tiebreakers, with uneven scheduling do to the size of the mega-leagues, will diminish the prize even more. Hope they can figure it out, cuz working towards a conference championship throughout the year makes the in season games more significant, and probably more entertaining (Oregon/Iowa last week), than simple win-loss records at the end of the year. Go Quackers!

Isn't the reason we have multi-team playoffs is to allow for the "most" high caliber teams to prove it on the field? Get in and prove your "mettle" when it counts the most. Heck of a lot better than what came before. Let's Go NFL-Lite!

Ehhh..Haters Gonna Hate. And honestly OBD hasn't really lived up to the "expectations" coming from the PAC. JUST FAR EXCEEDED EM!! Tooo bad...Sooo Sad B1G Boys. Get used to it. There be a new "Sheriff in Town". GET USED TO IT! Ain't going No Where! (But UP!) Let's Go Ducks.

All of these observations is simply because Oregon has been ready to compete with the best in the nation for quite awhile now. Since Slick Willie we have recruited, and developed NFL caliber players. (Just watch one weekend of NFL football and see how many names you hear from Oregon). The problem was being "locked in" the PAC12, notorious for getting no media respect and cannabilizing each other, especially "after dark". Where a two loss Alabama, Georgia, Ohio St still had a shot at the 4 team playoff, the PAC was never given the same consideration. Even One loss was viewed "as suspect", depending on who it was against (wash st., cal, etc.). So, "TV" collapses the PAC and Oregon/Washington (thrown a bone) to come and play with the B1G boys. The chance Oregon had desperately been looking for, for years, to legitimize the quality of the program. With a new and ambitious coach, Oregon took its opportunity and ran with it! (Especially last week, all over Iowa😁). This was not suppose to be. Because of the "narrative" about the PAC, and it's "flashy" perennial leader Oregon, and that Oregon was just that....flash and no bite and we have, resoundingly, repeatedly, made them "eat their words". And this has and continues to leave a bad taste on their mouths. OBD is NOT making friends in their new conference and in fact painting a huge target on their backs (Indiana game comes to mind), something I believe OBD haven't quite come to realization and/or grips with. But they will. Ten years from now ( With D. Lanning still leading the way) after several conference championships and a Natty or two all anyone will think about the Ducks is, "Boys...this is the game of the year for us...beat Oregon and you will prove we have become legitimate contenders". Because you will have to be "legitimate" to beat OBD! 🦆🏈🪨's

ESPN/FOXSPORTS made the decision decades ago, regardless of conference leaderships. Needed to trim one of five conferences (would have preferred two but Clemsons Nattys and low-ball, ironclad, TV deal "saved" that conference) and the PAC was doomed. Never liked it. Never wanted it. But it is what it is. In our current economic models, "most" money wins! Long term consequences be d@mned cuz there will Always be Opportunity in Capitalizing on any carnage that follows. Self perpetuating cycles. OBD realizes this and acts accordingly as any successful "business" would. Go Ducks.

"Ugly". Yes, and putrid, awful, gastly, gruesome, horrible, appalling...but you get my take. If not for Hawaii Also having turnoveritis and 2 of their starters fouling out, it Definitely would have been a loss...and not by just a bucket or two. Good news. First game of the season with a team that has a plethora of new players and pieces to incorporate into a functioning and fluid team. Just a "stinker" of a game or is this going to be closer to the "norm" for this group? Not a valid tourney team with the "street-ballish" performance from last night. Bad news. Obviously No Depth at point guard. Maybe after the non conference season both the point guards behind Sheldstad get more up to speed but last night? Yeesh! No point guards, no ball movement, thus "individual" basketball vs "team" basketball. Can't win consistently like that. And speaking of team basketball? Turnovvvvers, what offensive Rebounds, no THREE PT shooting (not another year of that, please!), anybody communicating? Yes. This team has a long way to go if last night was any true representation of the "team basketball" that can do damage in conference or in the dance. Hope Dana can turn em around but judging solely from last night, it will become his greatest coaching year yet! Let's go Ducks.

I gave up on "experts" years ago when listening to Paul "Fawn"baum read his obviously scripted SEC narrative (Sinclair media style) EACH and EVERY time he was "front and center" on national media during the BCS era. Had me realize that objective, reflective thought on the subject of college football is mostly a bunch of "noise" to meet the "needs" of fan bases and advertisers. In the world of "entertainment" havin' Nuthin' to talk about is paramount to a death sentence. Better to fill the void with BS than lose your audience or cashflow. Ergo where we are at with the plethora of podcast and streaming "options" available today. I don't know but I like to try and live by the mantra of: Better to keep quiet and appear a fool or uninformed, than open ones mouth and remove all doubt. 😉 Go Quackers!

Just makes OBD's accomplishments that much more impressive! Do we want to see this "scheduling bias" continue on into the future...NO...but very few other teams would succeed through this "B1G initiation" (half shares and all) in the way the Ducks have so far. AAaaannddd there it is. As soon as college football became NFL-lite "money" ideas started to be put into play by Non-football entities. Always, always seems, looks, feels positive and a greAt idea (sold to us that way), and sometimes it can be, but as Steven A pointed out that when the "profits" hit the bottom line the ONLY concern a "private equity" firm has is for themselves and their Largest investors. Maybe the B1G should have a "chat" with struggling Las Vegas and how their "partnerships" with the "private equity" firms have worked out for them so far. Lord please let the Ducks win the "Natty" before too much of what we love About this sport, that we enjoy and follow so adamantly; gets morphed into simply another "product" to mold, control, manipulate, and bullrushed into squeezing every last penny of profit out of it by people who give an absolute rat'butt about the product that they squeeze the life out of. Hope they know what can-O-worms they are opening and how the echos of the consequence's will become permanent and irreversible to the NFL-lite landscape. Be careful for what you wish for. And Never discount a teams desire/obsession of winning at home, especially on a nationally televised top 10 matchup. I can't even count the times that OBD made furious comebacks in the fourth quarter at home, some to still lose by three points or less, some we pull off the incredible comeback win/upset. Those teams up big on OBD didn't "suck" in the fourth quarter, just the desire to defend your home turf and persistence to that goal, brought the Ducks back. Penn State was trying, desperately, to comeback and win the biggest game of the year for them at home. That they almost did, but our team was just a lil bit better thus winning an absolute "classic" in the D. Lanning era. A "thousand cuts" for sure. 🦆🏈🪨's

YES! Reason this game is the "Game Day" game. Winner of this game will be thrust into the "National Champion Favorite" narrative, while the loser will be a "great team" but XYZ issues will limit their ceiling. (ie: Ohio St last year after loss at Autzen, and we ALL know how that turned out). Regardless of the winner/loser of this game Both teams will be in the playoffs conversation the rest of the year. The playoffs are when you want to have discovered and addressed any weaknesses revealed during the course of the season. Then, is when you want to make "a run". Looking forward to this game.
