Our Potential Future Schedules?
In the 2026 season, All Bets Will be off. If you are to have two "super-conferences" (NFL-esque AFC/NFC) then any previous "agreements" between scheduling partners will become Null and Void or "bought" out with the massive amounts of TV money involved with the forming of the new NFL-lite. No Super conference will leave their members uncompensated or they will be reimbursed in some fashion for any changes needing to be made to scheduling. Value of Strength of Schedule will be another very interesting metric that the selection committee, for Decades, has been very....inconsistent...with. No more scheduling, OR Rewarding WEAK 11 cupcakes, nor does any super conference get to use the old excuse of being "le' tired" and can't "get it up" for another conference opponent. This time of year EVERY team is all "black and blue" from the long, physical, season regardless of conference. An Even Playing Field is a MUST! Regardless of how it happens to go, there will be winners and losers in the process. Traditions in college football will finally be dead and buried with the rise of NFL-lite. All we fans of the genre can do is "adapt" our entrenched ideas and expectations of what the sport "formally known as college football" is destined to become. And yes. For better or for worse, I am glad that OBD are on the Inside...looking outward, versus the other way around. GO OREGON DUCKS!!!!

Oregon Still Undefeated, So Why Are Some Ducks Fans Unhappy?
Well now. Expectations are not met with realities??!! Color me Duck green and yellow! Honestly fans tend to simplify ANY sporting event down to the lowest common denominators for what they want, through the eyes of expectations. Actually Playing and winning the games is what the whole sporting world is about and if everything played out "as expected" then what would be the reason for even playing?!? There have been Many games in college football this season that could bring disparity upon a program based on a game or two's performance. Few games last year Alabama looked ... average and if not for a one score win against Georgia and a hail Mary pass against Auburn they never would have got a whiff of the playoffs. This year Georgia had a rough game against Kentucky followed up by a uninspiring first half down at Alabama. Not a fan of either but I'm sure some of their fans "railed" against their teams not performing to their "expectations"! As for Oregon. Remember Texas Tech game last year (with another previous Duck teammate with personal motivations on the otherside). If not for a scoop and return for a TD OBD may have very well lost that game. Or how about Washington State during Bo's first year as our QB. ALMOST lost that one also and still remember fans bemoaning the hire of Lanning because of that performance and the blowout loss to Georgia in his FIRST GAME as a Head Coach. Another significant point that I have mentioned before and I think still currently is a valid one. Our Beloved Ducks are now a team that EVERYONE has circled on Their calendar. As much as we have had games against teams like Ohio St., Georgia, and (used to be) USC. Beating "The Ducks" becomes a real "feather in the cap" for any program that is able to accomplish such a feat. Our Beloved Ducks are now a program with a target on their backs, and will get THE BEST from each opponent they play, week in and week out. OBD are still "learning" how to be the hunted vs the hunter. Emotionally and physically that can be quite draining. Point is. It is fair and worthy of discussion any and all "perceived" issues or problems we as fans believe to be part of our teams...limitations. It's what makes this Ducks Forum so engaging. But, I for one, will always tend to look at the "glass half full" rather than throw my hands up and write off the season, or any of my own hopes and expectations, simply because I have an unrealistic "fanboy" vision for what I am seeing on the field. This is a Very Good Football team, coached by some very good coaches, which shows marked improvement each and every game I watch. None of the games have been perfect nor complete (regardless of DL's comments regarding OBD's performance against UCLA), but I believe that they can "compete" with anyone in the country and over the next two months we all will get to see what the actual ceiling is for OBD version 2024. I still see a 11-1, maybe a 10-2 regular season. I would be disappointed with anything more than two losses and missing out on the B1G conference championship game, but hope springs eternal and as I have "hopes" for an entertaining and successful season I will continue to note the areas in need of improvement but will appreciate the high level of football being played by OBD. Win or Lose, I think everyone else should do so also. Makes the entire "fanboy" experience a lot more ... Enjoyable. Let's Go Ducks, prove you mettle for season 2024. 🦆🏈🪨's

Elite Recruiting Mountain Too High for Ducks’ Lanning?
Looking at recruiting through the "lenses" of recruiting history may place the Ducks on the outside looking in. However, talent acquisition has now entered a whole new era, of which I believe Oregon is primed and ready for. Up until several years ago I was always under the assumption that recruiting to a program that has a winning tradition, but is so remotely isolated regarding all the recruiting "hotspots" and the areas of fanatical devotion to the sport of football; was always going to regulate OBD to second tier recruiting status. Slick Willy, Mari-OhNo, and now Sir Lanning, combined with the "new" face of college recruiting, transfers, and NIL programs, have proven otherwise and no longer makes the isolation a recruiting disadvantage. Yup, YOU CAN recruit top tier talent to "That Team Out West". When Oregon shows a continued and successful "pipeline" into the NFL, along with continued success in the new NFL-Lite on a yearly basis; location of the program will mean a whole lot less to top tier recruits. Especially since OBD now plays Coast to Coast in the B1G, and top recruits are awash with NIL money, it is far easier for said recruits families to see their protegees perform in a top tier football program than ever before Last "advantage" I see for That Team Out West. These are all young men, each at their own levels of maturity and growth. ALL not yet the Men they will finish growing into. So, often it is a good thing to "remove" oneself from the comfortable and familiar (and distracting) situations to help refocus oneself and start to discover the truly important things in life's pursuits as an individual. Oregon apparent isolation, will in fact, most likely be seen as an advantage by many Oregon players turned NFL pro when looking back on the program that helped get them there. So much so that after our first "Natty" we should be recruiting right along side the Alabama's, Georgia's, and Ohio St.'s of the NFL-Lite world! Think we are making a lot of blue blood recruiting powers.... nervous. 🦆🏈🪨's is

Do You Agree? What IS the Upside to This Offense?
The upside to the Oregon Offensive is apparent. Talent at All levels. OL "gelling" as a cohesive unit over the next two weeks will be key. Lots of promise shown on the road last week, but has to become The norm. (Playing to Oregon's standard). I believe when this happens the running back room will be more able to show their full potential. Wide receivers are going to stretch the field and open up the field more for Gabriel (especially in a "floating" pocket) to pick and choose his targets, or take off for a long run of his own. The OL is the key to allowing ALL of this to become available to Oregons offense. If what we saw on Corvallis becomes the "floor" for this OL, then watch out B1G!!! Conference scoring records Will fall to the all mighty Duck!! 🦆🏈🪨's!

Really? Could Washington State Make the CFB Playoffs?
SEC has been "gaming" the system for DECADES. Never trust that conference to play fairly or within the "spirit" of the rules. When you have an overstated influence on how the rules are interpreted or created, naturally you set yourself up with an advantage. Would Love nothing better than to see each SEC team get beat in their own backyards during the playoffs. Know it's not realistic, but would still Love to see it. Anyway, a whole lot more football to be played until then so, GO DUCKS!

Holy Crap! My Replay Study So Far Shows...
Maybe it has something to do with protection for a "leftie" quarterback? But was nice to see our "leftie" protected as well as he was. GO Ducks!

So...How About THAT Get-Well Game?
The Oregon Running Back room was able to "release the hounds" with a much more improved offensive line play. Wave after wave of Oregon runnings backs being shoved down Beavers throats. Defense came to play And Boettcher is a Beast! He was everywhere and that rundown, across the field, was...impressive (maybe he can start a bidding war for his services btwn NFL and MLB). The team I think ALL of us expected to see at the beginning of the season. (But, Wait!!! No special teams TD's???? Slackers.) GO Oregon Ducks!

Words Alone Cannot Describe the Utter Ridiculousness of this Face Book Post
And all available to stream from Apple TV(?), or the like for a HUGE television/steaming contract to pay each school 10-15 million dollars each. Good luck winning super conference games against teams with 60-80 million TV budgets. Yeah good luck with that.

The "If Not For X, Then Y Would Have Happened" Sports Fallacy
Whhhaaatttt??!!! You mean to tell me that the team that doesn't find the means to put more points up on a scoreboard, by Whatever options are available to do so in any particular game, will eventually come out as the losers of said particular game???? I swear football fandom life is soooo complicated and unfair. Maybe We, as fans, should have our own NIL to soothe over those "unrealistic" events! Thank the Football Gods that OBD figured this out before last week's game, whew. GO Quackers!

On Saturday: What Do YOU Want to See From Oregon?
I want to see proper communication, execution, cohesiveness, focus, and most important of all....FIRE🔥 behind it all. Simple right??🙄 Need to start playing "championship" type football or it could end up being a very long, "cristobal-ish" type season. Still successful but Not Elite. Let's Go Ducks...Bury the Beavers! 😁

UO vs BSU: Three Sips From the Half Full Glass
I believe this may be Right On! As much as I tend to discount preeseason pollings and prognostications it should be noted that Boise State was the preseason Favorite to be the G5 representative (and rightly so with that "Heisman caliper bowling ball" of a running back), with their ONLY regular season loss being to Oregon. Then having the first round playoff Boise St. visiting Autzen against a "#5 seed", Oregon. Might, could, still happen and won't that be a fun buildup after what we just saw on Saturday. Boise State, not having Ever lost to an Oregon football team, came into Autzen looking to make a statement and were Not intimidated at all. They gave us a Game! But...we gave one right back to a Very good football team. This WAS NOT Idaho. Obviously this football team still has a long way to go until they can be, correctly, viewed as a Playoff team. But, resilient games such as was just played, getting scoring from unexpected sources (TWO, kick returns for TD's.....Ok maybe One and a half!), and an obvious improvement in several areas from week one; I can only hope this does become a Positive over the course of the season. Anyway. The next two games, Oregon State and UCLA will go a long way in determining the direction and potential of this team. After that there will be no "wiggle room" in playing expectedly as a cohesive and dangerous team. Yes. Only time, and games played, will tell. GO DUCKS FOOTBALL!!!! 🦆

Idaho Issues: We Can’t Duck the Blocking Analysis…
Ok. Offensive line seemed a step behind and was just "manhandled" by a defense averaging twenty pounds lighter. I just passed it off as underestimating Idaho as an opponent and not bringing our "A" game. But, this analysis showed a lot more concerns. Hopefully, it is simply an offensive line that is still coming together as a unit, learning to work and protect a left handed QB, but we need to see a lot more cohesiveness and a lot less "deer in the headlights" performance against Boise St. If the OLine doesn't "flow" against a Boise St. team that just gave up 40+, then there will be, should be, some major concerns going into the "new" civil war; and talks of a B1G championship in Oregon's first season as a member will have been Greatly Overstated! Hard to win football games without solid offensive line play, let alone play championship football. I am confident that Oregons OLine WILL become a solid playing unit. But it has to happen NOW, Here at home, before we start into B1G play. Currently I am confident and optimistic that it will happen. Please Oregon O, make me justified in my optimism. GO Oregon Ducks!! 🦆

I Only Have One Word for This Game...
Poison! Seems to me some were drinkin in the "hype", did not bring their "A" game 'cause....Idaho. BIG Hats off to Vandals who were half step faster and finished with...intent. Caught the Ducks sleeping on em at home. Need "reader leaders" on "D" to recognize and call out adjustments for unconventional plays. The "Dr's Visit" will be quite interesting this week and hopefully has the antidote to the poison. In November NO ONE will remember, talk about, or even care how this game went down if OBD is in the driver's seat for the B1G championship. Game next week with BoiseSt coming in, just got a whole lot more interesting. Especially with their 3-0 record against us and a "bowling ball" of a running back who went for a buck-fifty and several TD'S yesterday. Heal Quickly Ducksters!!

3C! Definitely. Get to listen/participate in two wildly different approaches to "winning" football and player relationships. Plus get to tap the "righteous" dude sitting in 4C, to see which one is actually the "savior" of their respective programs! 🤪😁😎 GO Ducks!
