5-Star Hoopster Dior Johnson Decommits
Duck 1972 replied to idontrollonshobbas's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Wish him well. Next! I'm sure Dana knew this was going to happen if Will came back. I knew. I posted earlier this week about this scenario. And I'm a nobody. -
Big Ten TV Negotiations Will Impact Pac-12 TV Negotiations
Duck 1972 replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
We need some money bag to get it to all of the homes in the U.S. By making up the difference in what the channel is willing to pay all the different carriers. A merger of the B1O with the Pac 12 channels and show all the Alliance games, it'd be huge. I don't know If the ACC has a designated channel or not but if so the more the merrier? We could then negotiate as a collective with the networks of Fox, NBC and CBS to get even more eyes on the Alliance at optimal time frames. I don't know if this is even practical. Just some musings. -
Big Ten TV Negotiations Will Impact Pac-12 TV Negotiations
Duck 1972 replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Why can't we make the Pac 12 channel relevant? We already have a platform. We could partner with the Alliance and tell every other sports stations to go do soccer or volleyball. -
Bo Nix’s Picks: Can You Live With Them?
Duck 1972 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I believe the key to Bo's season will be our line doing a better job of pass blocking. I don't believe they we good at it last year. Can Klemm get them to a point where they will excel at both run and pass. If they can I say the sky's the limit. We have never had the depth of every position group on offense that I can remember. I'd like to make a little prayer. Please make it August tomorrow. -
NIL Mania: OSU's C.J. Stroud Gets a Bentley
Duck 1972 replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Will this type of stuff affect their play on the field? Or be detrimental to team chemistry? Or are they so talented it won't make a difference. Trying to remember SMU. Did the buying of the star running backs help or hurt the team? -
Could This Be the Best Tight End Room in a Decade?
Duck 1972 replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Don't sleep on Herbert. Last year he was making a case to be in the mix. Hopefully our new training staff will keep him healthy. -
Could This Be the Best Tight End Room in a Decade?
Duck 1972 replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I do remember MC saying blocking was the most important thing to play TE for him. It's especially important if you're a run first team. -
Pac-12 Football Transfers: USC, Oregon Ready to Make Impact
Duck 1972 replied to Smith72's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Wow at least we got mentioned. -
Does anyone know if we lost a lot of good pitchers from 21? I know we lost our #1 in 22 to injury. That never helps

No Roses for the Beavers--Memories from 2008 (and 2009)
Duck 1972 replied to Drake's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Damm being a greybeard sure has its draw backs. Does anyone remember the fog night when we busted their dam I believe it was in Reeser's. Just can't remember the year? -
It just adds to our staff having to out work the staffs that have the advantage of the top recruits being close by. It's like they're not having to do it already. Does more visits help or hinder them? When DL was asked the question of whether he liked the idea of unlimited visits he wondered when he and his coaches would have time for a family life. That's just sad

The tOSU game was for the natty as we beat FSU in the semifinals. Thanks for your take on it also. I'm also a greybeard and agree things have changed and probably not for the better. But as you and I know change is inevitable.

I think Athlon is one of the best football media outlet with some of the best insight. A #10 ranking from them is a great endorsement for 2022. Go Ducks Fly High ( "to infinity and beyond" )

I wonder how much the reconfigured field had to also influence the numbers for pitching especially since our offensive numbers went up as well?

Where Ducks Offensive Line Stands Heading Into Summer
Duck 1972 replied to Smith72's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Either way does it matter. Some coaches have trouble coaching pros. Because he even got there says he's a good coach. Now he's back in CFB -
We also gave the sec the top portal gets DJ James and a defensive tackle I can't remember the name of.

Oregon Will Not Pay Top-NIL for QBs: Should They?
Duck 1972 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
When In the pros a player makes it and gets his first big deal it seems a lot of them disappear for a long time. I wouldn't put money on it but I bet the same thing will happen in CFB. Earlier Duck Fan 76 mentioned Fair market value and I believe this is the kind of young man that we're looking for and will find. Not somebody who thinks; I want as much as I can get. I like the Mac Joneses of the world who took their time and put team first, worked hard, learned, bided his time and took it when he was ready. As Hayward has mentioned its "The Oregon Way". -
We need pitching badly. That's what this last season means to me.

Best College Football Helmets--Where Would You Put the Ducks?
Duck 1972 replied to Krsmqn's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Popularity contest. Just like in HS. -
There was another PG that should be on the list but I can't remember his name darn it all. He played under Ernie Kent

Sorry Mudslide I have to disagree. we played in 2 nattys without out paying for players and should have won both except for some terrible breaks. Now with nil it's really gotten crazy. I would rather take the high road and do the right thing. Build our team with team players not some prima donna. I'm not saying don't offer anything but do not get into a bidding war were we waste our money on 1 player and then are not able to get other players that will be just as important. We know the portal will work, look at LSU with J Burrow. I believe the smart play is to get more information about how this is going to shake out before we make any rash moves.

Eliminating the 25 Scholarship Cap for Two Years
Duck 1972 replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't like it or am I missing something. What's going to stop the big boys from stockpiling players. That's what the limit was supposed to stop and did which created some kind of parity in CFB.
