Oregon Will Not Pay Top-NIL for QBs: Should They?
Duck 1972 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
We are in uncharted waters with perils on both sides. To me to be a FB player you have to have confidence in your abilities to compete. That's why if I'm a freshman recruit I wouldn't not go to a school just because they may bring in somebody else to fight against by the portal or next year's recruiting class/es Another reason not to be worried about using the portal with HS recruits is everybody is going to use it if they don't believe the QBs they have are ready or haven't improved. Just look at the Pac this year, 7 new portal QBs this year. Also we are going to have to understand that we are not going to be able to get 5* QBs in this new world just like we couldn't compete in years past. Do we honestly believe none of the superstars of the past weren't getting paid and probably took the highest bidder. I sure don't. I guess I would rather take the high road and do the right thing and get the players that want to play at Oregon and take care of all our players and not because we will pay the most money. Even if that means we won't get the predicted superstars. In most of the posts above there are examples of the nonsuperstars winning even a natty. That would be sufficient for me. I would want to earn it and not buy it, which I think is doable. -
Oregon Will Not Pay Top-NIL for QBs: Should They?
Duck 1972 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If Bo lights it up like I think he will the portal along with the QBs that need to be coached up would be a strategy that sounds ok to me. We've done it before and can do it again. I know I don't want prima donnas even if it might mean we're not going to be playing for nattys every year. There are just to many variables. -
Projecting Ducks Men's Basketball Starters for 2022-23
Duck 1972 replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I can't see Dior sitting on the bench. As a 5* recruit that could have went to the G League he will want to play from the get go. I think he's the only true PG and therefore will be starting. That leaves 1 spot for 3 players Will and the transfers Bartholomy and Cussinard unless Dana goes with 3 guards. That didn't work so well last year. It will be interesting to see how Dana mixes his pieces this year. Do you see a headache or success? To me it's a toss up with so much talent. -
We should have better information to make a judgment come Dec signing day. So far so good.

Best College Football Helmets--Where Would You Put the Ducks?
Duck 1972 replied to Krsmqn's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
How do you rank the difference between traditional and innovation. In my opinion they should have been 2 lists and tOSU wouldn't be top in either. While of course we would be 1st in innovation, we started the new looks. I like Texas best in the traditional. -
Not bad for a team from way up here in the Northwest with by quite a aways away in numbers of population. I don't remember reading the list of any of the other top 25 teams on this list that's even close.

As awards are sometimes political and based mostly on prospective criteria( I've noticed a lot of players elected on creds rather than exceptional play) as much as what happens on the field. Bo will acquit himself just fine and lead us to a whole lot of victories.

Mase Funa Tops Group of Unheralded Strong-side Linebackers
Duck 1972 replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Mase was hurt from start of the season. He played hurt and finally got better towards end of the season. Hopefully this year will return him to the player that was forecasted from his impressive 1st yr. If so the opponents better watch out. Go Ducks -
Let's see 3 5* and 3 4* would be nice haul

Anne I'm talking about the players who have to get up really early I believe around 3am to be prepared. That's 2 much off their normal schedules to promote excellence on the field, last year at tOSU was an outlier.

I agree with the putting in of more dead periods to give coaches a chance of some semblance of a home life and like the limited visits as a way for some parity between the haves and have nots.

The Cascade Mts. -
I don't like the 9 am games. it hurts us by putting an onerous burden on our teams that no other conferences have to endure.
-
Bo is going to play good enough to help us win. That's what counts.

What are Ducks Getting in Khamari Terrell?
Duck 1972 replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think he signed before the spring and before Manning's injuriy. We did get 3 DB recruits in 22 to help replenish the room -
CBS Sports: Biggest Challenges for First-Year Coaches

That's how I'm looking at it, similar to Chip. I might give DL a little better chance as he has more talent. His prowess on defense is like Chips on offense. -
He should know.

I do believe Nix is going to be a new version of himself with a new start in life with the Ducks.
