  1. EXACTLY what I'm thinking!
  2. Oregon is a 5 seed in the South region in ESPN's latest Bracketology, they'd face 12 Drake, then a possible match-up with 4 Arizona.
  3. Bittle, Evans I can see. Shelstad? I'm not sure. He's put up some great clutch shots, but for a lot of the games, he's barely involved in the offense, which is a big part of the problem, since he is the point guard, he's almost exclusively a 3 point shooter, few midrange, even fewer drives to the basket and is below average defensively.
  4. Thank you, sports fan, Washington is solidly in last place, but the last game of the season at the place Pritchard owned, is scary. I was just pondering; we do that here. 20-8 for OBD is just about right. They've won close ones, lost close ones. They shouldn't have wins over Alabama & A & M, but maybe those are balanced out by the L's to Minnesota & Nebraska. except games like those are everywhere in the B1G. I really don't know how this team has 20 wins. They can't shoot, can't rebound, don't move the ball, defense in spurts, and that creates turnovers, doesn't really clamp down. Shelstad has big shots, but if his energy level was above 6 for most of the game they might not be necessary. Bamba, Angel, no need to elaborate, Bittle is the only Duck who has shown up for 40 minutes consistently. Would any of the Ducks rotation players take a place away on any of the other top 10 B1G teams?
  5. The DL picking USC bothers me more, maybe the QB will go on to win the Heisman, doesn't mean the team will win anything. But. get enough Joe's on USC's defense and they could be a problem.
  6. Couple of grand slams is good, holding them to 2 is even better!
  7. We know about the Ducks, the 2nd most Quad1 wins in the country, but it's the losses, to Minnesota and Nebraska that just don't make any sense. Or do they? Indiana, sitting in 10th place, just beat 6th place, Purdue, 73-58. After Illinois stomped the Ducks, 109-77, it looked like the Final Four for the Fightin' ,Illinini since then, they've gone 8-9 and last night, on a neutral court, lost to Duke, 110-67. Maryland beat osu2,83-59, nobody could believe it. A game before Oregon beat the Terps, they lost to last place Washington. Maryland is in 3rd place now, 11-5, 21-6 overall. Last night, 10th place Indiana beat 6th place Purdue, 75-58. Little reason to believe that the last 3 or 4 games teams have are going to make any more sense, and the Tournament will definitely be crazy. Remember that team that went on a crazy run and won the last Pac-12 Tournament?
  8. "Uncle Phil" jokes, really? USC is sounding a lot like UW here, and of the two, I expect more competition from the latter.
  9. Lose 12-11, win 1-0, then win 19-12, analytics won't work here!
  10. Especially with the Portal. Players are Free Agents, I'm sure there is some bonding, but the name on the front of the jersey has never meant less.
  11. His D on Tonje was HUGE. 6 points in the 2nd half. All season, Bamba's been the best defensive player on the team, enough so, that even with his shooting y=trouble, he couldn't be kept off the court. Except for his shooting, he's good at everything else, definitely the most physical player. His shooting has improved during the winning streak, MacLean pointed out that a shooter has to be free, just let it go. Bamba may have been the opposite but is getting more confident just in time.
  12. No.19 Oregon softball beats No.22 Missouri 11-3 to cap off undefeated weekend - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM This weekend at the Mary Nutter Classic was supposed to be a difficult test for No.19 Oregon softball (15-1 ). Instead, after an...
  13. I'm thinking, hoping, that consistency for Evans will come with consistent minutes. This was a particularly bad game for Angel, but it isn't like we're all saying, "how'd that happen?" He's awful on defense, doesn't rebound and can't score in the paint. Bamba's D has kept him in the line-up, and his offense has been better in the winning streak. Making sure Bittle at least gets a touch in halfcourt possessions is a must. Early 3's are a killer, especially when you're 4-16.
  14. Angel: 19 minutes, 0 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 1 turnover, 1 foul, and this wasn't a particularly bad game for him this season. Evans needs to get more PT, if it's at Angel's expense, all the better, this game, and all season, Angel is better on offense than defense. It wasn't a miracle that they won, and not to take away from the win; as great as it was, it just makes me shake thinking about the losses. Oregon really just played harder in the second half than in the first. Is this the Altman turnaround? Three games left. USC, Indiana @ home, finish @ Washington.
  15. Late heroics push Oregon men’s basketball over No. 11 Wisconsin 77-73 - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM The hometown kids did it again. Such little had gone according to plan through this maddening mess of a Saturday matinee, from...
  16. 38-26 Wisconsin at halftime, 26 of the Badgers' point are in the paint. If teams never attempted 3's against this Ducks team, they'd win for sure.
  17. It was 17-14 Oregon, Wisconsin is on a 20-2 run.

  19. How much longer will 4's & 5's want to go to USC?
  20. "Right decision not for young quarterback"
  21. Here's a Maarty Leunen highlight I'll never forget, from '06-07 ``Maarty is a great freethrow shooter, we all knew that,'' Brooks said. ``I had all the faith that he'd hit those shots.'' Leunen sank two free throws with 0.5 seconds left to tie it at 64-64 and force overtime. They were the only points Leunen scored in regulation, but the 6-foot-9 junior wasn't nervous. ``I knew I had no points. It's kind of easy to remember how many points you have when you got none,'' he said. ``When you step up to the line, you've got to be confident and relax.''
