  1. I hate Washington as much as anybody, but really, we've beaten them 15 of the last 17 times, that doesn't a rivalry make. But really, I would sacrifice playing Washington, even OSU regularly, if the alternative is Oregon being in the Super Conference moving forward.
  2. Exactly. the phrase, "It means more" is what drives the SEC in their decision making. Just like in games, when one team is more motivated than the other, that team will win. Same for the conferences; this is why the Pac-12 and the SEC are where they are now.
  3. I am genuinely curious to see these. I've thought that both sides are in difficult positions to handle a coach leaving amicably.
  4. Yes, Dave Pasch and Bill Walton will be doing the broadcast!
  5. That was anything but a rant. I'm very happy that your decisions turned out so well for your family and business. But, as you told Jon, it was very sad to once again be reminded of how the Pac-12 operated. It's tiring also, but true that the SEC is the monster it is because all the parties involved there share the vision of being the dominant conference.
  6. Amazing how it all worked out after the Boise State punch. Lamichael James comes in for the Ducks and the rest is history and Blount goes on to a very successful NFL career. Without Boise State, it might have been completely different.
  7. Seven deep in pitchers? Incredible, often teams have very successful seasons with two or three at the most. Pitching rules are mysterious in softball, and up to a point somewhere, pitchers can be taken out and return.
  8. It turns out that Russ was a 49er between 1982 and 1987, right after the Super Bowl in 1981, and right before the Super Bowl in 1988.
  9. It is early but getting on the "lists" of the top recruits now is how you get them to commit later. Lanning and his staff have made connections with players, coaches, academies for '23 and beyond. This is the work that's needed to bring in the top classes.
  10. The first thing I notice is that Connally, like most other early projections, has Oklahoma doing better than okay, without Riley. I don't understand why Connolly finds USC's situation to be uniquely hard to gauge, as for Oregon? If the Ducks beat Georgia in the opener, I expect they'll be in the top 3 in the polls again, and they are definitely the pick to win the North.
  11. It doesn't matter which sport; Stanford is always a big game. Oregon looks to avoid season-sweep to Stanford in must-win Thursday game. Matt Prehm Duck Territory
  12. I am far more optimistic I'm optimistic about the RB's, especially in the offense Dillingham seems to have planned. I am just more convinced now that Nix, a seasoned SEC QB, is just what the offense needs at QB.
  13. This was a great win, especially coming off the downer weekend in Arizona, and no Sabally, There was no letdown by Oregon, WSU never came close to getting back into the game. So, just as Oregon put the L's out of their minds, they need to do the same with this big W, back to back games with Oregon State, starting in Corvallis on Friday.
  14. No doubt about it, Williams has an excellent chance of being Riley's 3rd Heisman winning QB, and there are a lot of QB's in the Pac-12 that will be very good, including at Oregon. So, I don't think the QB question at Oregon is the biggest for '22. Nix is a huge Get for the Ducks, so while the QB is the most important, impactful player, I have more questions about the RB's. I do feel good about Cardwell, Jones, Dollars and McGee though, and receivers, being a vital part of the offense is something to definitely look forward to.
  15. Yes. Both sides have made good points regarding USC. I started, and still agree with the one made here. Beating good to great teams in your conference is better than beating bad teams in your conference. Now, I'm fine with Washington continuing to sink, but that's them.
  16. Ducks missed 4 shots in a row, but got the ball back each time, finally scored with their 5th shot.
