  1. It really is as blatant as that, and the big 12 didn't think there was any problem with the format, nor does the Mountain West. Penn State would probably be okay with a change, but it sure worked out okay for them, "hmm, lose to Ohio State during the season, lose to Oregon in the CCG, get the easiest route to the Natty possible."
  2. Hopefully that cleared the bad vibes out of MKA.
  3. No.2? In the country? Love the enthusiasm. But No.2 in the B1G is optimistic for me. Gabriel is gone, Tez is gone. The OL is not going to be better next season. The DL won't be better, the secondary won't be better, LB's? I really don't understand how expectations for an improvement on this season is likely.
  4. Yep. Beat Maryland, Illinois is a learning experience.
  5. I really hope Carter is ready to go for Penn, State. I like Ohio State, 38-17 over Texas.
  6. Maryland is 18, was 17 before loss to Washington. Illinois was 5 before beating Oregon, remains at 5.
  7. Mr. Dawg, do you know that feller we all see hollerin' on ESPN about the SEC, Pawl Finebomb. Do you reckon he'd drop by?
  8. Who knew TrojansWire was funny? Nobody. Hmm, Saban saw the writing on the wall. He's having fun on ESPN, but DeBoer would still be at Washington and Saban would still be at Alabama, if he didn't sense the Portal, NIL being the equalizer. As far as SEC-B1G, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan, USC will be right there with Georgia, Alabama, Texas...Ole Miss, SC for the foreseeable future.
  9. The one thing everybody agrees with, except Coach Lanning, is that No.1 Oregon really got screwed by the CFP format. After being the crash test dummy, Oregon showed there were serious flaws that need to be addressed.
  10. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Oregon hosts Wisconsin at MKA on Saturday (12:30 p.m., BTN).
  11. SEC, new Ohio State fans, would love to have a Penn State, Michigan fan find their way over here. We aren't going to see a Husky athletic supporter.
  12. And some comments: I feel bad for him and the Duck fans. Perfect regular season and B1G Champs, but who cares now? When I was at Oregon, the fans were nothing but gracious hosts. It does suck for them, but someone had to lose. My wife & I attended the 2010 Rose Bowl and sat in the Oregon section. We too found the Duck fans gracious unlike some U of Washington fans when we attended Bucks vs Huskies in Seattle 2007.
  13. Found these at "Eleven Warriors" Asked about whether his team's longer layoff contributed to the score, Lanning wasn't having any of that. “I think that’s an excuse. You know, I thought our guys prepared well going in. Obviously, they had a better plan than us, but that’s an excuse.
  14. Not that I'm hoping this on him, but what if Michigan's $10 M 5 star QB turns out to be a TY Thompson?
  15. OBD have never really had a stud LB? Love Boettcher, but I want LB's like Ohio State gets. Those are the LB's a team needs if they're winning a Natty. Oh, and if there's a 6'3 215 LBS safety looking for a place to play?
  16. If ever a 4th game in conference play can be termed "Must Win" it's the game against Maryland. The No.9 isn't important, but it was an acknowledgement of the season, as well as the No.2 Seed. But, Oregon really doesn't want to start B1G play, 1-3, with 2 losses at home. After Maryland, it's @ Ohio State, @ Penn, State. then Home for Purdue & Washington, who just beat Maryland, who beat Ohio State worse than Illinois beat OBD. It was at Maryland, but the B1G conference schedule really is Must Win every game. Go, Ducks!
  17. I was right there with everybody else. "This Duck team is different" than the others who went for the Natty. I still say 2007 was the best chance. I saw the D making the stops when needed. Lanning was playing Chess, he completely outcoached Day the game at Autzen. I still think, based on the season, Gabriel should have received the Heisman, unless Tyler Warren or Cam Skattebo were nominated. Up to, and on Dec.31, I went to bed thinking about Tez and the other receivers running free all over the Rose Bowl, Gabriel finding them, or taking off & moving the chains. Unfortunately, all to soon it was obvious that wasn't happening. I live and breathe the Ducks, especially football. But, I'm not as crushed this time like I was before. In the Auburn game, the Ducks really could have won that one. Injuries, player disqualifications, those two dropped passes, by Stanford and Nelson, were huge against Ohio State. But this time, Oregon was done. I'm remembering very little about it.
  18. Yeah, a combo of B & C seems to be the best bet. Every team likes what they saw and saw a future in the players they recruited, so let's see that future play out. If a portal player is available, "Any linebacker's out there?" welcome. But if some LB's were recruited, they should turn into the players we want. Ohio State doesn't have to bother with this decision; they've built up such an elite roster that they really do just pick a player up in the Portal when they want to. That's what happens when you're in the top 3 recruiting classes for the last 20 years or so.
  19. Oregon went undefeated in the regular season, won the B1G, the best conference this season, was a unanimous No.1 longer than any other team was No.1 at all. They beat the bluebloods of the B1G, two of which have a chance to play for the Natty. The season ended much earlier than we, and the team wanted or expected. All sorts of intangibles hurt Oregon, but none of it should take any credit from Ohio State. Oregon will, "Go to the doctor" and be ready to go for it again next season.
  20. Saban knew it was time to get out.
  21. Maryland lost last night @ Washington. Which team is going to Bounce back? The team on the road, or the No.9 team at home?
  22. Let's start with the Understatement of all understatements: The Oregon men's basketball team will look to bounce back at home Sunday after coming up on the short end of a top-25 matchup with Illinois at Matthew Knight Arena on Thursday. Coming up on the short end? "One team was well prepared and one team wasn't; one team was well coached and one team wasn't," UO coach Dana Altman said. "I've got to take my share of the responsibility. We just didn't guard." "I've always told the guys, you're judged by how you respond," Altman said. "We're going to have to bounce back."
