What Do You Think of the Pink Theme for UCLA Game?

Giving to OHSU guarantees the money goes directly to research and treatments. Giving to a non-profit pays the salaries of the non-profit first. -
What Do You Think of the Pink Theme for UCLA Game?
idontrollonshobbas replied to Flaps2's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This will probably make me persona non grata but... The awareness month schtick has outplayed its usefulness. When every month is labeled (fill in the blank) Month it becomes perfunctory. Also, breast cancer research is already extremely well-funded. But, the deadliest cancers have a fraction of the funding that breast cancer does. So, if we're going to do this, let's just have "Cancer Awareness" and then there's no need for pink uniform embellishments and we can help even more people. Win-win. Many of the deadliest cancers receive the least amount of research funding NEWS.NORTHWESTERN.EDU ‘Embarrassing’ or stigmatized cancers like lung and liver are underfunded -
What Mario Did Right: Alex Forsythe
idontrollonshobbas replied to Ktmguy2018's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thanks Ktmguy for taking the time to fill me in.....sounds like an upgrade in scheme and technique is sparking the improvement. This staff has elevated the quality of play dramatically so far. -
Jahlil Florence Next Lockdown?

There were times last night when Gonzo seemed to play a nickel spot with 2 CB's? But I don't trust my old eyes to say so for sure -

Jahlil Florence Next Lockdown?

I thought Manning was really starting to play well before the targeting penalty. Then, Florence came in and didn't drop off at all. Reps are all he needs. -
What Mario Did Right: Alex Forsythe

I am not sure if it is Dilly's scheme or Klemm's development (likely both by degrees) that is more responsible for the significant improvement in the running game so far? -

Anyone Else Miss Mike Leach Sometimes?
idontrollonshobbas replied to Haywarduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
In the terms of this thread, I must prefer a leach interview to a Saban one because I will turn up the volume when The Pirate is speaking but I won't for Saban. He's like Howard Stern in the 90's: The number one reason why people who loved him and hated him listened was the same: To see what he would say next. Saban is a top quality ball coach. Leach is a damn good college coach who would really prefer to have a late night talk show. In a past life, he was a carnival barker who also emceed the burlesque show I have no doubt. -

Big Ten Coming for Pac-12... Officials?

It is a baffling phenomenon. The 'Glass Cannon' moniker says it all. I think of guys like Patrick Chung who seemingly played every down of football possible in college and the NFL.....and then there are the Canton K's, Curtis White's and numerous Blazer centers over the years that have tons of promise, but cannot stay out of the training room.

Reminds me of when we were ill-prepared and lacking the proper attitude. Strange days, indeed. -

As a fan who knows nothing, except what I learn here, I would love to see Bassa at Safety with Sewell and Flowe at ILB's. -
Ducks vs Arizona: Game-Prep Article Thread

Nick Aliotti on PAC-12 After Dark: 1. Oregon has had difficult games in Tucson (understatement of the year) 2. If they start slow with penalties and drops like against Stanford, they could be challenged. 3. If deLaura has a Cam Ward game and #2 happens, all bets are off. My thoughts: 1. I am less worried about penalties and discipline, but still worried, because we have a scoring offense again. 2. I am less worried about penalties and discipline, but still worried, because in addition to coaches who like scoring, we have coaches who can scheme, adjust and motivate properly. 3. Thankfully, our coaches highlighted transfers who make an impact. Without the DL, RB, and QB transfers, we would be toast. 4. Related to #3, if we lose Nix to injury.....fuhgeddaboutit.....so Bo, slide please. Freakin dude plays like an LB. 5. My gut tells me that the amount of plays in a Duck uniform that Justin Flowe ever has will be very limited. Some guys have injury bugs while other guys never get a scratch. Bassa is excellent, but LB health is now an official concern for me. Hope to H, E, double hockey sticks, I'm wrong.
