  1. Times like this are when a "Free Trial" on SlingTV or FuboTv comes in handy.
  2. "and we'll have fun, fun, fun until Daddy takes the" Cardinal away. Go Ducks! Thanks Alan.
  3. An unnamed (to protect the innocent's?) friend's opinion: "Sure looks as if something is going to happen with further B1G expansion. Except for saying that UCLA will lose money by joining the B1G we have heard nothing from Kliavkoff. I expect Uncle Phil is using all of his resources to push his friends in the B1G to take in the Ducks. If this isn't a lot of hot air it would help with getting PO expansion on before 2026 with the Rose Bowl becoming less of an influence without the B1G/Pac-12 matchup. I think Amazon may well be the key here? Allows the B1G to add 4 more teams without ipso facto hurting FOX' broadcast numbers. And Amazon would bring in enough new $ to persuade the B1G powers-that-be to expand to 20 teams and perhaps, beyond 20 teams? If this happens, how will the SEC/ESPN respond? The ACC has a bad media deal through 2036 but the deal is with ESPN; ESPN mau well want to see some consolidation of the ACC/SEC. Clemson, FSU, UNC, NC ST to the SEC makes perfect sense. Not sure Miami moves the needle all that much and Florida might be willing to see FSU come on board but not Miami." He might be onto something.
  4. As I sit here in South Carolina hoping that hurricane Ian passes gently by, I feel excitement to be hunkered down with a Friday night UCLA versus Washington football game to watch. Two 4-0 teams with one about to take its first loss. DeBoer and Kelly scheming and calling the shots in a west coast shootout. Penix is on fire. The latest line I saw was Washington by 3. Which team are you expecting to win? What aspect of play, beyond the final score, will determine the winning team? Do you have predictions for the final score and winning team? The over and under? Things in the game to look for? I only regret that the kickoff is 10:30 PM ET, so the game will end around 2:00 AM. That will make sitting through the Ducks 11:00 PM kickoff tomorrow night even harder for this old Duck.
  5. I before neglected to congratulate you for the great article, and applaud Charles for his encouragement, assists. and historical supplements to your story writing. Well done Duck Brothers.
  6. Love it! We could be left out of the future by trying to protect the Pac12/11/10 of the past. Holding on would most likely (2026) become a lost battle. CFB will experience gyrations during the major transition period. The next conference alignment may not be the last, but as the super conferences emerge, having the Ducks rest from flight in the B1G is a safe refuge for protecting competition, academic and athletic prestige, brand. and revenue.
  7. You may be right Van, and I really appreciate the talent evaluations by this staff. They make assessments, put a plan in place and then tweak and adjust it while continually improving players and the results. This staff acts quickly to solve issues by taking responsibility and implementing changes, not casting blame. or waiting hoping things will change. The Ducks are improving: - personnel - skills - implementation - schemes - in-game coaching Look out. Here come the new and improved Oregon Ducks.
  8. Sabrina Ionescu hits massive buzzer-beater vs. Canada Sabrina Ionescu hits massive buzzer-beater vs. Canada - ESPN Video ES.PN Sabrina Ionescu buries the buzzer-beater from just inside half court to extend the USA's lead at the end of the third quarter.
  9. Stanford has been a tough out for Oregon for two decades. Sometimes Stanford was not an out at all while winning games. Many of us remember upsets and Stanford's comebacks stealing near victory from the Ducks. Will Saturday's game be the game where the Ducks dominate Stanford? Playing at Autzen after dispatching the Cougars in a hard fought comeback in Pullman, I have a sense that the Ducks will come out on fire against the Cardinal. Oregon will win by 17+ points putting on shows on both sides of the ball. I'm looking for a team effort and some big plays.
  10. Your article is a good and useful explanation written for common fans. Thank you, DnC. It seems to me that the defense is improving still with a long way to go. Team leadership and on-field communication must improve, and self-inflicted blows must be reduced. Go Ducks. Go DnC.
  11. 4 INT's against a ranked team will siphon your swagger alright.
  12. Don't nix Nix. Bo is playing this season with confidence and skill. I expect him to improve as his teammates gel. I hope that Thompson and Butters will get snaps when the situation allows the Ducks to build them into ready reserves.
  13. At 1-0 in conference the Ducks are a contender for the league title. This team is a work in progress. It has shown inconsistencies between greatness and poor play. The team has capable, if not great, athletes in most positions. The secondary can leak like a sieve. The 2022 Ducks are exciting, but sometimes frustrating to watch. With a coaching staff of teachers and encouragers anything is possible including the Pac12 championship. Go Ducks.
  14. Can you imagine throwing and running for as many yards as Nix, plus taking the hits and losing? He earned his relieved look today.
  15. Throwing the fade takes a certain type of QB, and a coach who believes the play can be successfully run a high percentage of attempts. The coach must be confident the play will not end in an interception. My guess is that the Ducks are not there yet.
  16. In the past two games the Ducks appear to be gelling as a team. Mistakes decreased, tackling improved, and Bo Nix led the offense with aplomb taking advantage of opportunities. The offensive line is skillfully blocking for runs while it pass blocks effectively giving Bo Nix time to work. The running backs are a handful by taking different styles and looks to the defense. Things have been looking up for Ducks football. Can the Ducks go on the road into a hostile stadium and win against a foe who will be hungry playing with a chip on its shoulder for being overlooked by the national media? Will Oregon build its momentum with dominnance and a win? Or will it arrive in Pullman flat and struggle to get going taking a step backward? The defense faces a productive Cougar offense. Will Oregon's secondary rise up showing improvements or will it be exploited and shredded by the Wazzu passing attack? A step ahead, or a step back on Saturday for Oregon Football?

  18. Oregon vs. Washington State: No. 15 Ducks open as touchdown favorites Oregon vs. Washington State: No. 15 Ducks open as touchdown favorites DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Pullman is a tough place to play. The fact that Oregon is getting nearly a touchdown on the road shows the...

  20. Dorlus and DJ were mentioned above. They played very well, but more than that, they are keys cogs in the defense. We need them healthy and strong for every big game.
  21. The Cougs may feel disrespected and feel motivated to beat Oregon to get the attention of pollsters. The Ducks must play tough and smart on every snap like they did against BYU. Another week to battle Cougars. Can our DB's step up this week? Can the Ducks defenders hurry the passer, deflect balls with hands up, and get more than the one sack (.5 x 2) of the last game?
  22. Bush league and unacceptable. UO should revoke the identified students passes and privileges.
  23. Credit the O-Line for excellent play most of the game. We witnessed new combinations of players, different roles for Tight Ends, and other combinations. The OL has been formerly somewhat disappointing, but showed pomise and dominance against a physical BYU. Additionally, the big boys inside on defense showed up and excelled at times. Both lines did their jobs against BYU. The running backs are running smarter under Locklyn than over the past 3 years. They look where they are running, follow blockers, and find daylight. No more blindly running to the called gap.
  24. Peace in life. Duck havoc on the field. Enjoy Oregon, Eugene, and hopefully the surrounding area. 1:15 hours driving to the coast via Hwy 126. W.
