From the 2023 Pre-Season rankings below...here is the breakdown of the number of teams in the top-25 by conference... SEC: 6 Pac-12: 6 B1G: 4 Big-12: 4 ACC: 3 So the Pac-12 is really going to disappear? So where is all this disrespect coming from? How is it warranted? The biggest question....is it really going to change in future years with the coaching in the Pac-12? I think the B1G, the Big-12 and the ACC should STFU in light of the facts, not what the blowhard sportswriters say. I was pondering out-loud with Kamikaze Kid today about how strong the conference is this year....where Oregon is a Pre-Season No. 4, and Oregon State is No. 5? Whew! Whoever ends up as No. 5 in the conference is going to be a pretty darn good team, yet will be 8-4 to show for it? Wowsa. It got me to thinking about 2024, and how if you take off USC...the top five becomes a tough top four...but don't you think Arizona State might just fill in at No. 5? Perhaps Stanford or Colorado later? Those bastards coaching those top Pac-12 teams aren't going away, and they are good coaches. This conference is going to be tough in 2024+ without the LA schools, and whether we have SMU or SDST or not, IMHO.

Sure...maybe in 2036... Be careful for what you ask for!

Absolutely. Technically....Oregon is punching above its weight class in how we are recruiting with a 10 win season. Utah, Washington and Oregon State are not doing as well, and even USC trails Oregon in recruiting nationally. We will end up with a top-10 ten class, with a real shot at a top-5 before it is over...IMHO. (No. 6 at Rivals now)

This is all very interesting--some great facts presented, and I thank you. But we do not know what GK and the Pac-12 Presidents have in mind as the longer play, the overall strategy. As it is--the whole stay-at-ten-teams, and two-schools-object-to-expansion are news that we only just recently learned. And it is becoming apparent that Oregon has their own plan...which may not want a larger conference, or may be totally focused on only what is best for the Ducks? So that conferences get into a bidding war for our membership in five years? Or...

Steven Jones is poised for a very big year too.

He is at 228 pounds, up from 212 and will be more stout on run-support. Jamal Hill is also almost 230 pounds, so the MONEY linebacker looks good. Bassa and Irving were doing 300 pushups a day!

Imagine if it went on FOR A YEAR, (as it has for Pac-12 fans) and you had to tolerate it, and the Trollers are later proven wrong?

Makes no sense, and these deplorable people have to get their licks in quickly before a Pac-12 Media deal is announced that is superior to what they have.

As those Pac-12 games fill up...the spillover might sell out Portland State and Hawaii too?

Only the Beavers would do what they did in 1991....they won ONE game, (went 1-10) over an injured Oregon and they create and distribute a video called... "We Own the State!"

This never gets old. Over the years--between the fight song, SHOUT, crowd noise, etc., there are so many great Oregon sound effects, but this one just feels like one of the best sounds ever. Remember the CHUNK! BTW....I personally made the video above and put it on my fishduckcontent YouTube channel. I was working on the analysis article out Monday about Bassa's superb blitzing technique in the Holiday Bowl, saw this again and HAD to make the video as my own memento.

To all of us, adding the expansion schools and then negotiating the media contract made sense, as then we would know the game inventory the PAC-12 was offering. Now we see why the order was reversed; not all current schools were on-board, so GK had to get the contract done first, due to a deadline. Technically, there is no rush to expand immediately, although I see the benefits of having the game inventory for 2024. We fans were oblivious to this. I believe we fans are also being surprised that representatives of Oregon might just be fighting for our best interests better than any of us suspected. Perhaps Mullens has been active behind the scenes, and determined what is best for OREGON and is vigorously pursuing it? We clearly do not know his long-term goals in this…
