  1. At the time, Dilly was a questionable hire as well. We really knew very little about him, his philosophy, play-calling etc., as his time at Florida State did not move the needle. We simply knew that Lanning knew him, his background, coaching tree etc. We once hired an OC, not a HC of a tiny little college...New Hampshire, and did OK with that hire. I recall at the time of the ridicule from Beaver and Husky fans, so let's learn about him and see what he can do. I think Danny would tell us...
  2. I do not want any reference to "that" word at all here. It was announced in this thread, and there is just no need for a high-brow forum. I edited out what you had...
  3. Have I told you how much I love you today? What you provide us in articles and managing the Duck News Hunter team is simply amazing. You add articles of a topic to a thread, you provide in-game updates and today you have KILLED-IT with the OC hire thread. While this is not the same arena, the quote from Winston Churchill applies, "Never, (at FishDuck) has so much been owed by so many to so few." (Battle of Britain) The time you put into this is crazy, and simply saying, "Thank you," seems lame. I do want to publicly thank you!
  4. Boy...knock me over with a Duck Feather! What does he have left to prove? He looks NFL ready to me! (Maybe a BIG NIL contract?)
  5. ...and I'd love to know what it is. We are desperate for offensive linemen and searching the portal for OL, as well as the JCs...and we lose a former top-80 recruit? Who better to learn from than Klemm? Some guys are snake-bitten with injuries...is he one of those? Coaches not sold on upside? He isn't sold on his ability to break-through? I do not get this at all...
  6. He might be a tweener. He is not as fast as Bassa or the Georgia linebackers and was not really great at pass coverage, or blitzing and I sense that Oregon is going lighter/faster. Or I am completely wrong. Just guessing...
  7. I am raising my hand, because I was there. We have a lot to be grateful for…
  8. Great stuff Jordan, and a game with Notre Dame would be fun for all.
  9. Great thread to start 12Duck72, as I am disappointed and do critical analysis of what went wrong...I am a staunch fan no matter what. And it is great to have a number of Oregon fans who are like us--loyal to a fault. Your post was a breath of fresh air that I needed--THANKS. Tons of Great Fans...
  10. My FishDuck Friends, Part of the hassle-factor of maintaining the forum is the ton of time dedicated to keeping it clean of trollers. We get LOTS of fans from other schools who will try to appear as if they are an Oregon fan, and then come in to blast negative and add to our misery. And we have four people over the past two years who have an OCD affliction with posting extreme negative over-and-over. Even when banned--they can return through clever means and sign up again. And starting a nasty-negative post at midnight is one of the tactics of one of those banned in the past. So at 1:30 in morning I had to post a response when I got up to go to the restroom--to let him know--we don't allow venting. Having a safe place to post requires a ton of effort, and yet even with all the work--the forum is extremely fragile.
  11. Isn’t this very similar to what you’ve already posted a couple of times? All roughly the same and you haven’t been on the site even two weeks? We GOT it. Don’t come here just to vent…
  12. Oh Annie...you have no idea how well you nailed it. A fellow got steamed at me a year and a half ago and stormed out of the first version of the forum. I realized that I was rude to him, (this was before I really had the rules solidly in place) and apologized to him--but he was going to punish me, and leave. (Now how does that work again?) I heard from him recently and he was clearly looking for another apology and an opening to return. I graciously apologized again, and invited him back. So what did he do? His first post was effectively venting his frustration over the two games lost. An over-the-top post that just made me shake my head, and respond with something to help put things into perspective. He then put up a maligning, attacking post at yours-truly, and I deleted the post and banned him. He just wanted a pool to pee in, and my experience has shown that if someone operates like that up-front, then I will continue to have trouble with this person who has no consideration for our community and civilized discussion. Had not heard from him all this time until now, and your Reverse Bandwagon Fan description is perfect. I will borrow the term and give attribution credit to you. Thanks! We have nice people here...
  13. Oregon knows that answer from last year--ouch, ouch, ouch! Congrats so much to the Utes, and the great Utah fans who come to OBD forum. You deserve it!
  14. Some aren't unless the Ducks win enough. A ton of people will not read about the Ducks anymore because of how two games went. How loyal is that?
  15. It goes to show how it was all lined up for Oregon to make the Playoff, but for a few decisions. (or one)
  16. OK....now THAT is worth hanging onto. Perfect!
  17. The first time Oregon ran it against Washington was wide open for a 10 yard touchdown. But is a third time a smart call? How many times did Chip run it again that game...I wonder? And yes, if you are a dynamic OC...you should not have to run your QB between the tackles ever, except for QB sneaks, IMHO. Too much risk, as Oregon proved my point. Let's not malign people for a difference of opinion; in fact you or anyone are welcome to write articles...we need more writers!
  18. Another interesting take on being an Oregon fan.... Oregon Fan Loyalty: "Is Our Way the BEST WAY?" FISHDUCK.COM In this off-season I am pondering the Oregon fan more than I am the Oregon football team. In order to build a forum (which will be released in the next month)...
  19. With what I've seen posted in the last week or so...pondering the existence of a "real" Oregon fan is worth contemplating....right? FishDuck Ponders the Loyalty of Oregon Fans ... FISHDUCK.COM Charles Fischer presents an plausible alternate reality that challenges Oregon fans over their loyalty to the team under all conditions. And this was four years ago?
  20. He's 48...isn't that way too old? (Tongue-in-Cheek)
  21. Remember...Dilly is not here anymore. (Rule No. 26) If Utah can beat USC... Lanning Plays With Fire, Duck Fans Get Burned FISHDUCK.COM I should have written this article a month ago when I first felt strongly about it, but at the time I did not want to be a buzz-kill for Oregon fans.
  22. For crying out loud...you write a thread about a game without the score and when?
  23. Perhaps you missed what I wrote; they have already decided, and are STAYING.
