The grass is greener elsewhere? I think this article backs up EastBayDuckDad's assertions pretty well. I am tempted to offer anyone a big bet that both he AND Dilly stay... Callous Up: Husky Fans Predict Saturday's Score
There are many expected predictions with disrespect to the Ducks below, but there are a number of surprises as well. All entertaining! "High scoring game. 45-42 Dawgs." "D*cks 56 Dawgs 31 Huskies win 38-27. In high profile game, Bo Nix reverts to form and throws 2 picks." "UW 41, Quacks 45. Stranger things have happened but odds are Washington likely does not have enough talent to keep up with the majority of pay for play teams." "UW will need to keep the offense on the field with slow dink and dunk passes if there's no run game option plus turnovers to have a chance." "45-33 ducks. We have the right coach to guide us though in the future. Coach DeMan will be successful vs the ducks down the road." "49 - 35 Ducks...we are not there....YET" "Ducks 40-20 I'm a Husky who lives in Oregon, and the Ducks are everything and more of what you think they are." "UO 41 UW 44 in 2 OT Dawgs will be barking and feathers will be flying…" "OR 59 UW 42." "Ducks 49, Huskies 31. Our defense is just not good enough at this point." "Dawgs 45 Ducks 30 Our Offense moves the ball all game on the Ducks." "Oregon 63 - Good Guys 38" "UO 42 UW 28" "42-41 Dan Lanning is distracted by the Auburn coaching vacancy. Dawgs win on last second field goal." "Ducks 48 - UW 21. It’s over by half and we score in 4th to make it look better but it’s a nothing game for us this year." "Them 44 Good Guys 27" "Oregon 42 Dawgs 35" Cam McCormick in 2018! "Oregon 48, UW 27 Oregon at home is tough." "Oregon 38 UW 24 Oregon has been destroying teams. If we don’t turn it over we have a shot. UCLA took us apart. They are more talented than us." "D*cks 49 - Dawgs 28" "UO 38- UW 21 I don’t think in the near future CKD will be losing many games against them , but unfortunately this year they will. I hope I’m wrong." "Score prediction: Ducks 49-31" "42-32 Oregon. They are on a roll right now. Our offense will keep up for a while but our improved Defense will get exposed six ways to Sunday." "Oregon 45 UW 27 I unfortunately agree w/ much if the sentiment here. On the road with Oregon's O firing on all cylinders , I see a game similar to the late Sark/Early CP years in terms of score." "49-35 Ducks. I see the Dawgs scoring a lot but getting 2 less stops than Oregon in a game where neither team punts more than twice since both defenses are pretty ugly. There are going to be a lot of points scored this game. My two hopes are this: 1. Dawgs are really really bad against the pass but Oregon is worse 2. Bo Nix is prone to having some bad games at really bad times and he hasn't had his bad game yet."

It can be Googled I'm sure, but his contract has tons of bonuses for performance. If he wins the Pac-12 and goes to the Playoff--he will end up with quite the first year salary after all the bonuses.

Ball Security: Ducks No. 2 in the Nation
Since we are not creating a ton of turnovers--the Oregon offense not having many really helps our chances of winning. Great stat--thanks.

The Bad Luck and Good Luck for Oregon Targeting the Playoff This Year
The long-term impact of your words is immeasurable for Oregon fans. It is fun watching Duck football now, and will be even better with the Lanning/Lupoi defense fully installed in future years.

Agreed. It is hard to explain Xs and Os fully, yet make it easy. He has a knack for that, fortunately for us!

The 7-Jeff? Defensive Surprises in Store for the Huskies
The 7-Jeff? I LOVE it! Dazed....you are amazing, as NOBODY in the Oregon media is providing analysis as you are to FishDuck. I am very grateful to learn from you. I am also very grateful to have advertising now in order to be able to pay the photographers well, and get GREAT ones contracted. There are a number of pictures in that article that are just killer, and adds so much. Thanks to all you readers for putting up with the advertising, because it truly allow me to get great photographers and pay the bills of both sites.

The Bad Luck and Good Luck for Oregon Targeting the Playoff This Year
It is weird the way some years you have such unforeseen elements in your path to the Playoffs. Having two undefeated B1G teams, an undefeated B12 team with an upstart Tennessee and even an LSU that could mess things up for you is quite a barrier. But getting help with a two-loss Alabama and having Clemson knocked out--is not something we would have ever foreseen. And now the biggies....to have FOUR Pac-12 teams in the top 15, FIVE overall in the top 25 is astounding, and we have the schedule lined up to benefit from wins over these ranked teams--provided we get it done. And...we have more love from the ESPN Playoff Crew than ever before. Sure Rece is Rece, but I have never heard Joey Galloway pump the Ducks like this. Even Bear and Dinich are on the Oregon Trail, and having Herbie back feels especially good again. We have a real shot at the Playoffs because of the good luck of the year, but boy...it is not something anyone could have predicted!

Men's 2022 Basketball Recruiting Class Announced
I am hoping this is not a subscription article, so Oregon is No. 7 in the nation with only three recruits! 7. OREGON The class: Mookie Cook (No. 10), Kwame Evans Jr. (No. 11) and Jackson Shelstad (No. 57). The skinny: Dana Altman always has Oregon in the mix with some of the nation's top players and as the early signing period kicks off he's led the Ducks to the top ranked class in the Pac-12 and on the West Coast. Cook is a prodigal son of sorts. He may have left his home in Portland to play his final two years of high school ball in Arizona, but he's headed back to college. He committed, de-committed and then committed again. But, the quasi drama should prove to be worth it. He's a big wing who can playmaker for others, plays with athleticism and is very versatile on the defensive end. He's got some young Andre Igoudala in his game. As for Evans, there aren't many in the class who have his high of a ceiling for improvement. He moves incredibly well for a 6-foot-10 kid and has tremendous instincts on defense. He could eventually turn into a big man who can stretch the floor or make some plays off the bounce. As for Shelstad, he's another who is headed to his home state school. He is a tough floor general, plays with confidence, makes pull-up jumpers and simply makes those around him better. 5-Star DL David Hicks Visiting the Ducks this Weekend
It isn't maybe. As I wrote, over 90% of the time, if not 95% of the time--the verbals stick. You are new at this. The terminology they use has been around for the 25 years that I've been the message boards, writing articles and following recruiting.

5-Star DL David Hicks Visiting the Ducks this Weekend
These are not signed players until the December signing or the February signing date. Right now all of them are verbally committed to sign for the 2023 class, which means something because the vast majority do stick with their official verbal commitment. Oregon will pick off one or two on occasion, and sometimes we lose one or two, but it mostly holds. For example 5-Star QB Donte Moore has been verbally committed since July...

Huskies 'Dis Oregon...With Whimpers
Wowsa. This is the least amount of trash-talk toward Oregon I can ever remember over the last 40 years from the Huskies. There is a ton of respect from them between the snarls of hate, as these pups know that a whacking is waiting for them in Eugene. About Dan Lanning: "The best road win of Lanning's career is a close, come from behind win over WSU. Was flat out embarrassed at Georgia. They played in the conference title game last year and this year play all the top half of the conference teams at home and skip USC. Two-thirds of a season and accomplishing almost nothing away from home, thus is bit early to declare this first time head coach a success. As long as UW hires the right coach (and I think we have), I’m not concerned with who Oregon hires." "So, as long as DeBoer recruits to his system and does he has in the past, we will get to a point where we can dominate Oregon and all of Knight's $billions. Oregon will lose those mercenary coaches from the SEC, so no system will have time to develop." "Oregon can't change its location so coaches will treat it like a stepping stone until Eugene doesn't suck anymore, and that's not happening anytime. Ever." "Current players... perhaps... former players... hate Oregon as much if not more than we fans do."

Marsh Power Rankings (week 10)
Great stuff David, and after pondering--I agree with your rankings at the top, although a number of national pundits would not. USC gets a lot of love for such a skinny portfolio...

Third Down Defense Musings
Being negative is fine, and analysis like this is superb for us fans to know what to look for and ponder about. (The only bad negative is excessive negative done several times a day, and nobody does that here anymore. So I never want to discourage writing about the negative, as that is what a forum is for!) Great one, AnotherOD! You are quite right, as this Oregon defense is not where Lanning/Lupoi want it to be yet. But I wonder if more is in store as both the secondary and front seven improve, and as our defensive coaches can see what our players can execute? This would be a good game to roll some new items out? Michael Penix, Washington's QB, is outstanding and can convert on any third down. How do we mess him up? What tactics could Oregon throw at him? What a great time for a shameless-plug for an article tomorrow on FishDuck about just that question! DazeNconfused has another dandy for us to ponder... Is this a hint?
