NCAA Close to Settling House Litigation for $2.8 Billion - GULP!
How far back are they planning to go in paying former players? I almost played in 1976....

Wow. I Guess it's True. "Butt" this Opinion is Like They Say, Everyone has One . . .
This has to be satire. Or long shot bets for Vegas. Every one of those picks is hardly believable by each one's fan base! Let alone all 5?! This is why women shouldn't be allowed to vote (a sexist would say) Just kidding 🙃

Fox Announces 2024 Friday Night CFB Broadcasts
While it's great to get all those eyes on Oregon on a Fri night, that Purdue game just took on a whole new twist. A short week, on the road, after tOSU... It reads trap game all over it. Oh well. That's why DL is trying so hard to be 4 deep at every position. It's a long season. Bring 'em on!

Move the Goalpost: Who Changed Your Opinion Most?
Charles, you sum it up well for me. What got me super into believing in our Ducks were the Joey Harrington years. I know he wasn't a coach, but if he had the ball in the 4th qtr, I believed we could win. I've been believing ever since. Chip raised the bar, but Dan is running away from the Pac! 😉

Study: One-Third of High-Profile NCAA Athletes Threatened By Gamblers
I find this report very disturbing. With the huge increase in online gambling opportunities, access to everyone via social media, and all the NIL, this could easily become serious, even life threatening. I shouldn't be surprised, but how do you go about defending against it? Every athelete have armed security? Schools employ online sleuths to weed out jerks? Maybe it's making a mountain out of a mole hill...pro sports and gambling have been around for a long time. Let's hope it doesn't amount to much.

Moving to the B1G: Feeling Different NOW About it?
I say, enjoy the ride while you can. College football is not done with its changes yet, and I'm sure we will bemoan them as they happen. But Charles, you pretty well summed it all up. Sad, disbelief, to surprise, and now elation. And now, there will be no excuse for belittling our Ducks from east coast pundits. In fact, the early preseason polls show our Ducks getting plenty of love. Would that have been the case if we were still Pac12? Plus it will be great fun to see all these B1G teams in Autzen. Or always on TV. I too get irked that we have to take less$$, but it's more then it would have been. And the advantage to recruiting! Great coaches. Great facilities. Top NIL deals. Great fan base. And without question, great competition and great exposure. Can't wait for season to start.

Oregon Football's New Big Ten Conference Opponents: Rich History, Distance
The site corrected itself. It had the schedule reversed at first. Good for them.

Oregon Football's New Big Ten Conference Opponents: Rich History, Distance
They got home and away games mixed up for the 2024 season. Don't know if other year's games are correct.

If CFB Takes On the NFL Goliath it Better Have a Big Rock in the Slingshot
"May the best product rule the day." I like it. CFB is more fun to watch, IMO. But asking for leadership and foresight?! C'mon man! 🤣🤣🤣

MSU-UO Trade: A Third Stringer For a Starter?
MSU has signed former Duck DL Ben Robert's from the transfer portal. Oregon signed former Spartan DL Derrick Harmon of MSU from the transfer portal. Who got the best of this deal? MSU gets guy with 3 years of eligibility, but questions about whether he will ever become a starter. Oregon gets a starter with big upside from the get-go. We get needed help now, MSU gets help later. Maybe. I'll take this trade any day!

Deion Sanders Responds to Oregon Football Coach Dan Lanning's 'Clicks' Speech
By his own admission, "I do that". Deion played the hype train to perfection as a player, but as a coach, it has become a distraction. He really needs to settle in and figure our how to win games. He has 1 year left with his sons. He better start getting better recruiting classes, especially some O-line guys, and develop them. In the meantime, why is it so fun to watch him and his team blow up in the news constantly? Is it cuz one should walk the walk, before all that talk?! Go Utah. Win the Big12.

2024 Oregon Football: Early Enrollee Spring Rewind
"If your good enough, you're old enough". Lannings mantra bodes well for the future of this team. I feel like he wants a lot of rotation of players. Fewer snaps/player, but fresh legs through entire game. And potentially fewer injuries. To make and win the playoffs could mean 17 games! So there should be plenty of opportunities for the youth to develop and play.

Canzano: Oregon Harmed Oregon State in a Consequential Way
Canzano can't face reality. No one wants the beavs. No one. They don't raise the interest bar beyond their few loyal fans. In fact, their fans are so used to losing and being non- relevant, they like the idea of finally competing in a conference they could win! Which won't last long, as they continue to lose quality recruits. The Beavers are one of the reasons no one east of Denver cared about the Pac12. I'm glad I canceled his account. Move on already. By the time he accepts this move, there will be another major realignment. Jeez...!

2024 Playoff - Puddles Flight to Atlanta will be Turbulent
Thanks Jon for the excellent break down. While I agree that a lower ranked conference champ getting a 1st round bye doesn't seem fair, winning your conference deserves reward. I also don't like the subjective poll rankings. Too much ESPN influence. Since when do we agree entirely with the polls? I have 2 major concerns: 1- the number of games is too many for students (yes, they are getting paid, but they still have classes) pro's can spend all day rehabbing an injury if necessary. 2-the number of inter-conference games must be the same. And the OOC games also must be in line the same, ie. same conference level teams, etc. Traveling, while tough, isn't so bad when on private charter flights (not commercial), though flying coast to coast seems problematic for pro sports. The odds of a 7-5 team making playoff are pretty slim. What's worse is a 18th(or worse) ranked G5 team bumping a #12 ranked team. The G5 conferences have been weakened by realignment, especially from the Big12. And a team winning it all, playing their 17th game, will always be the underdog. Alas, no system will seem fair until the conferences realign again. Maybe separate leagues are now needed.

Oregon, Lanning are Truly Ignored, Unknown, and on the MOON to the B1G
As with most lists, entirely subjective. DL has only 2 years to look at. 5 losses, 3 to the same team. All but 1 by 4 pts or fewer. In a couple years it will become obvious even to the B1G pundits that we have the best coach. In the meantime, let them underestimate us. Coach Lanning is building a dynasty.

Oregon Ducks Football: Biggest Position of Need
I think our strength is in depth at each defensive position. Especially after the latest 2 additions. Based on snap count analysis from last year, and things coach DL has said, I believe he wants a lot of rotation with fresh bodies. We may not see individual stat #'s set any records, but overall, get pressure on the qb and stop the run. Stopping the run in the B1G will be priority #1. Getting that big bodied defender from MSU was huge. Gives the young guys someone to learn from too. Funny enough, my biggest concern is on offense. I'm hoping Dillion develops a genuine rapport with the receivers, timing, reading defenses the same, and they adjust to that left-handed spin. Bo in the 4th quarter gave me confidence like I used to have with Joey in the 4th. I'm hoping DG does the same. I'm also going to miss Bucky. Though our RB depth looks solid. Finally, I hope the poor exchanges between qb and center get worked out. I'm giving new qb's as the reason and they will work things out in the fall. We have been spoiled with superb center play for many, many years. Something I have taken for granted. It's too important of position for that. Anyway, can't wait for the season to start!

SC is SICK of Oregon...
So I checked, CA top tax rate is 13.3% and OR is 9.9% Not a lot of difference. CA cost of living, #2 highest. OR col is #10 highest. So again, not a lot if difference $$. Difference is the coaching and the culture, just like you said Mr. Marsh. Well said.
-
SC is SICK of Oregon...
I agree 100% with all you said David. On point! Development and relationships. But I'm willing to bet the business folks involved with the NIL group point out tax differences.
-
SC is SICK of Oregon...
Something SC fans are forgetting, tax rates in CA are much, much higher than in OR. Their NIL would have to offer at least 35-50% more for same $$. Then there's OR with a better rated D... better rated O-line. Maybe players just want better coaching. Just sayin. 🤭

Oregon Football Reveals New Uniform Combination Details
My only concern is that Nike's latest uniforms have garnered some extreme resistance of late. The new Paris Olympics uniforms and the MLB uni's. I hope they don't whiff on the Ducks. That would be 3 strikes!
