Husky Fans May Still be Sleepless in Seattle
Though apparently they had over 66,000 for that first game.

How Does the Pac-12 Philosophy Differ...?
You make a good point HDuck. Seems the same to me. Guess it wasn't good enough cuz the 1 year deal did not get a 2nd year. Apparently the Mt. West doesn't want either school. So, where do the lonely hearts clubs go to play now? Become independent? I have little sympathy.

Husky Fans May Still be Sleepless in Seattle
But being on the BTN means a blackout in Seattle. Nice.

Look at the Bright Side With This Game...
While comments about the O-line are deserved, I would like to remind all that Pickard is a walk-on and this was his first start. Comparing him to Pancho may not be completely fair at this point. It was good he got the reps, cuz it's gonna be a long season. It takes some time for the big guys to learn to work together. And Idaho's defense was slated to be very solid coming in to this game, and they showed it. The reality is we have a huge target on our back. We will get everybody's best effort. No team in the B1G wants us to come in and be successful right off. Idaho should get credit for playing balls out, and for giving all our "blue-chip" players a wake up call. I'm waiting to see the improvement from wk1 to wk2. Let's get er done!

Comcast Test: Were They Honest?
Thanks GD, I'm cutting cable also. Been with them forever, paying over $300/month. No more. I already have to pay $10/month extra to not be able to watch BTN. Thanks Charles and all the others for your tips. Go Ducks! Whip those potato heads!

Comcast/Xfinity Blacking Out West Coast B10 Games Due to Carrier Dispute
I too will have BTN blacked out. I'm pretty angry. I'm already paying an extra $10/month for the sports package to get BTN. Definitely time to dump comast/xfinity and find something new! Ugh!!

Interesting Article on What a Team Needs to do to be Considered for an At-large Berth in the CFP:
Seems a pretty good and accurate preseason picks. Oregon looks in good stead in all categories.

Too Many Articles Posted? Your Feedback PLEASE....
It's great to read the articles but I don't read them all, maybe 50-60% Also, most articles don't illicit/inspire comments. I also figure if someone already shared a thought I have, no need to repeat it. I trust your judgment Charles. This site has so kept me informed and I've learned so much. Keep it up. Also, is too much better than too little?

It’s Time for Duck Fans to Yell-O
While the idea of fan unison sounds good, it won't happen for one main reason: we have too many color combinations. Our weekly changing of the uniforms is great, but it gives fans too many choices in apparel selection. Penn St has like 1 color choice. Mich maybe 2. If the games were all at 12:30 each sat it might be easier. But night games and cooler, even wet weather make it tough cuz how many coats and sweatshirts can a person own? I have tried to comply. I own 3 different color rain ponchos and multiple sweatshirts but I have to admit, the rebellious part of me hates being told what to do or what to wear. As long as Autzen remains loud and noisy, I really don't care what we all wear.

Get Ready to be Intimidated
Great idea. What could possibly go wrong? Mixing crazed students and alcohol and putting them directly behind visiting teams! This lasts until someone(s) get hurt. Maybe by the 3rd game? The most vocal crazy types will want to be here. And we've all seen how well campus police control crazies! Well, bring it on. We Ducks are tough. Maybe Lagarrette Blount can head up security. 😉

NFL Doesn't Work Out? Join a NASCAR Pit Crew!
Great story. What an opportunity and adventure. Love it. To think, I could have been a pit crew star.... Oh well. I guess I'll have to settle for 44 years with the same beautiful woman!

Oregon Goes UNDEFEATED??
This would mean beating tOSU possibly twice?! Yowser, wouldn't that be grand!!

USC Now Has a Defense?

The Sky Has Fallen? How it Happens for Oregon…
A lot will depend on our qb play. And everyone staying healthy. If there is a chance for DG to win the Heisman, how do we sit him in the 4th? I think it will be interesting to see how the coaches sub players this year. In the past 2 years there was lots of rotating guys in and very few guys had high snap counts. We are pretty deep all across the board. Could see a lot of guys playing. That would help keep everyone healthy. I think tOSU, Mich, Maryland and Wisconsin are the games I most fear. But I too like 11-1, possibly losing to the Chip Kelly run offense in a close one.

Joel Klatt - A Terrific Preseason Look at CFB in a Nutshell
Wow, even 10-2 is a big ask. Unless MC suddenly learns how to use a talented qb, I see 4 maybe 5 losses on that schedule. Their first game is at Florida. They travel cross-country for CAL. And MC always loses at least 1 game they shouldn't. I think we at OBD will not be surprised to see 8-4 or even 7-5 at UM.

Lanning Learned 'CoachSpeak'...
Thanks Charles for putting a fine point to it. The Mrs. & I were just discussing this very point. As fans we are so excited to see fall practice start. It means the games are soon to follow. But it's a really slow month for news. Recruiting is shut down. All the boys are now on campus and practicing. And all we fans get is coachspeak. It's sort of funny. I will try and guess what the article says before I read it, cuz it's usually the same. Oh well. I do like watching the players interviews after practice. It's a chance to see more then a number. Getting to put a face on him. I do appreciate that.

2024 Ducks: Most Experience, Depth, and Talent EVER
Seems to my reckoning that Lannings first year we had one of the youngest teams in D1. Now we have more seniors than ever before. The big d-lineman from MSU, the safety Savage and corner from UW were big gets from the portal. Our defensive back group is now not a weakness but strength with depth! The d-line also has depth, much needed in the B1G. I think the transfer RB, Harris, is going to surprise people with his size and speed. Yes, the depth across the board is impressive. I think we are over 60% blue-chip as well. With all our seniors, this is the year Charles. And with a 12 team playoff... Only 3 more weeks! Let the games begin! Go Ducks!!

Oregon, Hawaii Mutually Agree to Cancel Two Future Football Games
I'll miss the game there. Loved the idea of an Hawaiian vacation and a Duck football game!! Oh well, makes financial sense.

Natty: Do We Love Oregon’s Chances or Just Really, Really Like Them?
As usual, a great read Darren. I loved it, my wife laughed out loud! I really, really like our chances. There is no doubt we have the team to be able to win every game, at least on paper. But I have 2 main concerns: 1. Dillon Gabriel No doubt he is an all-star college qb. The key will be how fast he adapts and learns to run the high RPO offense of the Ducks. I fear that Bo Nix made running it look so easy that we think it will be automatic for DG. I fear we may not have realized just how brilliant Bo actually was. 2. The "8 game stretch". Winning every week is always tough. The season gets long, wear & tear, bumps & bruises, school work, personal issues, getting "up" every week, the long travel...it's tough under any circumstance. With such a long streak without an emotional break, is a monumental task. Also consider, every team will be "up" for our game. We will have a target on our back because of our ranking, and because we're the new kids on the block. Beating us will be every teams highlight of the year. That said, I really, really, really like our chances, as long as we don't "cute talk" our way with anybody.

This Recruit IS Focused on NIL, and it is a Bidding War...
I agree that players should get whatever they can, but trying to force a bidding war is a bad look. Even in the pros we never like "that guy". My biggest concern is the kids haven't proven anything yet. Not at the college level. I wish NIL was more results oriented, like a sales commission. Oh well, it is what it is. Coach Lanning has shown that character is as important as skills, so until proven otherwise, I'll assume any kid he offers fills in all the boxes. Including Pickett. Now let's play some football already!

Even Beavis Fans Don't Want Civil War
I for one would love to see the game continue, but not every year. Maybe every 3rd or 4th year. My reasons, history for one. It's been around for over 100 years. 2. In-state fun for our state. Many of us work side by side with OSU fans and it's fun water cooler banter, especially for the casual fan. 3.It helps the local economy. (And it would make for lower travel costs, for at least 1 game) 4. Most importantly, my biggest reason, is I want to put a regular beat-down on them regularly. Like they were Portland St. After about 10 or so of those, then we can put it away. But I want to shut down their silly arrogance once and for all!
