  1. MC likes to sharpen iron, but I - and probably the CPO committee - prefer stainless steel.
  2. Speaking of the ROTTEN officiating, I vaguely remember (maybe someone can help me out), I think, one of our receivers catching a pass, making some good initial yardage, then getting roll-tackled where the Duck ROLLED OVER the tackler's body, and then spinning onto his feet and CONTINUED TO RUN because he knew he had NEVER TOUCHED THE GROUND! (And the replay verified it.) But the ref - only a few yards away - BLEW HIS DAMN WHISTLE - as the receiver spun out of the tackle!
  3. I agree with Confused: In my mind the Ducks are still undefeated at 9-0 as far as I'm concerned. It's Mario who is at 8-1.
  4. The worst part about playing a team twice that you have already beaten once: the other team has NOTHING TO LOSE.
  5. Finally, the facts. AB was waiting on Forsyth to make the line calls. Alas. he was slow to do it. Coaches had nothing to do with the delay.
  6. I still do not believe AB was booed at home. I believe MC was booed at home and he has kept on deflecting it back onto the team. IMHO.
  7. No one as far as I know has suggested this . . . but at the moment the snap went awry, my immediate thought was: the field goal special team was so pissed at the coach's decision to surrender that they decided to SABOTAGE the play. Well, that may be a bit hard to imagine but that snap had to be at least ten feet in the air, and so wide that the kicker made ZERO EFFORT to react to retrieve the ball - did he already know that the ball was going to be made to sail and fly completely through the end zone? Yep, I'm probably crazy.
  8. Often heavy injuries come from using poor technique . . . ?
  9. I do remember many times when Herbert was a Duck that his receivers would drop his passes because they - as college players - could not handle 60+ MPG BULLETS TO THE NUMBERS.
  10. Watched the Eagles game. The Chargers have a lot of young and experienced talent to exploit, yet what is amazing to me from my observations is that it's NO LONGER young green Herbert working to catch up with the experienced stars on the team - it's the experienced stars of the team NOW working furiously to catch up to the top-shelf Herbert!
  11. jrw, just a reminder (from this retired software engineer): NOTHING IS FORGOTTEN ON THE INTERNET. Everything you post, even when you delete it immediately, is archived SOMEWHERE where it can be eventually found.
  12. Just looks like some academic prowess to me . . .
  13. I'm not a math surgeon, but your list seems to show that Oregon was the ONLY top team to cover the spread! Good gawd.
  14. Oregon actually burned the clock this time. How refreshing.
  15. All this simply means is that for the Ducks to stay at #4, they have to beat the Dawgs by 50 points this weekend. No problem.
  16. At least the Ducks will be able to reminisce when they watch the playoffs on TV in January.
  17. I'm detecting more and more defensiveness in Cristobal from your quote. Those boos last week - he knew who they were really aimed at, while pretending the target was the team, and now he knows he is being watched. The honeymoon is over.
  18. I still don't understand why the backup QB was inserted when it was only a 3-score game with 12 minutes left. Typically that substitution takes place around that time with at least a four-score lead in the fourth quarter. I was upset with Cristobal's decision the moment Ty came in. And bam, the result I feared happened and the opponent scores again, putting the game in jeopardy with so much time remaining.
  19. Yes, I completely agree. We really have some slow learners up there in the coaching box. The pattern has been set. This endgame mess is going to repeat itself.
  20. I have never thought for ONE SECOND that the fans were booing the team. They were booing Cristobal, period. Maybe it's time for our version of a now-famous chant: "Let's Go Dye!!!, Let's Go Dye!!!, . . ."
  21. Excellent analysis. In other words about AB, "Nothing to see here. Move on."
  22. The SEC had EIGHT selections, BTW.
  23. Scratching the surface? Yeah, like fingernails against a blackboard . . .
