  1. Sorry I'm such a dumb nit-picker. 4 OTs. Nevertheless, amazing.
  2. I know that the Ducks will definitely beat the Beavers IF THEY FEEL LIKE IT.
  3. I do wonder how much MC's marketability may have been compromised by what we all have seen directly from the Oregon football team this year. Fantastic recruiting following by mediocre coaching and game management that is often embarrassing to witness. He might HAVE TO STAY at Oregon for a while now because the big football schools to which he might have been tempted to jump have now taken a SECOND LOOK at this guy, especially after the Utah debacle.
  4. I wonder how many top recruits we lost Saturday night . . .
  5. I do recall the many drops Herbert endured at Oregon. But it wasn't primarily due to the quality of his receivers . . . it was due to the fact that most college-level receivers are not used to catching RIFLE BULLETS incoming at over 60 mph . . .
  6. If only we could have done the deep research several years ago to find the coaching gold in the college coaching ranks. For example, guys like this:
  7. I think what has been set up from this season's strange circumstances is an unforeseen serendipitous COACHING TEST for MC: is he a REAL coach or not? We will find out a lot more NOW when the Ducks play the Beavers, this time after a crushing disaster.
  8. Note: at least THREE of his passes were outright DROPS last night. That would have made his completion rate skyrocket to over 80%.
  9. I still can't believe that Herbert is so brilliant that he deliberately undersold himself to the NFL just in order to get drafted low enough to play for his childhood heroes, the Chargers. Man, what incredible foresight and strategy.
  10. Yes, it was so refreshing to settle into my Lazy-Boy on Sunday night and watch a REAL QB from Oregon take command and control of the world around him.
  11. How hard could it be to place an actual couch on the sidelines for the coaches?
  12. We'll see how the players "vote" next week end. If the Ducks lose, MC will be heading out of Dodge . . .
  13. THREE YEARS of top-ten recruiting - and THEN we find out ALL we got was the recruiting?
  14. The long, long honeymoon is finally over. The coach snores.
  15. After all this time, doesn't it ever make you wonder what possibly could have happened in the week after the Ohio State game? The Ducks then looked like a brand new shiny super-car . . . and ever since it performed like a mud-splattered jalopy running on four FLAT tires, hobbling down the road.
  16. The over-rated "super-depth" Ducks were finally exposed but as to precisely what I don't know. But I've been smelling some internal strife going on for the longest time and it has been kept well-hidden all season. Expect booing at the Beavers game - and it won't be at the team as MC has claimed before.
  17. Gee, I don't know much about football, but I've been "thinkin'": Why not teach AB (1) how to pass accurately over distance and (2) how to read his receivers? In other words, what in hell are the QBs doing in practice?
  18. I'm just dumfounded. All those top-ranked receivers on ONE team. Yet, very few passes. It's almost as if the coaching staff didn't bother to show AB how to throw a football during practice. Blows my mind. And thus the flood to the transfer portal is just beginning, as I had expected.
  19. Don't think about being 9-1 and #3 in the nation. Think about the fact that the Ducks are standing at the foot of Mt. Everest and about to take the first step . . .
  20. Caldwell is a helluva lot faster and agile than Dye, and MC should be playing him as much as Dye to get that experience ramp-up going ASAP.
  21. One thing that really bugged me was on two occasions we were chugging at 3rd-and-long (as 10-12 yards) and the call that went in was to throw to Dye in the near flat RUNNING ON THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. Both times Dye got crushed FOR NO GAIN. Why in earth aren't we going more vertical in these 3rd-down situations, especially with Pittman and others?
  22. Re: my posting on JJ's spin out of a tackle that a ref ruined - I also recall the commentators did NOT said a word about it, even with the replay, even with my screaming at the TV. They are often as irritating as the refs.
  23. So that begs the question: what would the kick-off time have been if Oregon had lost? 7:30 PT AGAIN?! Thanks for small favors, TV corporatists.
