  1. I think the only thing holding Oregon back at this point is knowing the scheme and being able to react without thinking. Thats going to take a sec. They definitely have the talent to beat BYU. Intensity, speed, reaction time, and explosiveness has been lacking. You could see it in the eastern game. Having to think causes pause. Ducks will get there. Hopefully by Saturday. Probably more like late Oct early Nov. Just in time to wreak the Utes, Beavs, and Trojans.
  2. I remember the drops. Dude was so powerful, college kids had a hard time catching the football. There will never be another Gretzky, Jordan or Brady. But... there has never been a Herbert until now. Dude is an absolute freak.
  3. Lanning states Flowe practiced and he "thinks " they will be at full strength come game day. Kinda blew over it from there. I Flowe can't play it's going to hurt. Even though linebacker play has been somewhat anemic, Flowe is a big loss.
  4. Maybe the Mr Roboto was a product of learning a new system and scheme. The previous staff showed no faith in the guy, that has to have an effect mentally and emotionally. Maybe he was just trying not to bomb. If true, good coaching will loosen him up and he will become a football player. Nerves, concentration, anxiety... who knows. Loosey goosey baby.
  5. All this told me was this guy thinks BYU is the GOAT. Thought I heard him say the starting QB will be a G-pa in November. Could have heard that wrong though. Whats the over/under on BYU player filings of SSI after the game?
  6. I would like to see some two back sets. Confuse the defense and open up the running game. 2 or 3 successful runs then a shot over the top for a touchdown.
  7. Bo played a near perfect game!! He is a natural leader. "Should have been a pick"... but... it was a touchdown!! Looks like it's going to be a long year hating on Bo.
  8. They (O-line)also haven't given up a sack yet. Thats pretty remarkable considering they played the best defense in the country.
  9. I thought TT had a good showing from what little I could see. It's encouraging to know this coaching staff is getting these players coached up. Reversing the Mariø effect. Hopefully Ty will be ready next year and Moore won't have to be thrown to the wolves.
  10. I don't put much into "team A beat team C by x amount, team B lost to team F by XX amount... What does that mean for team B?" To many variables. I look at Oregon and ask, do they pass the eye test? Score is important but the eye test, IMO, is way more valuable. You can see it before the first snap a lot of times. I know what good football is supposed to look like. Is the speed there, is the tackling and blocking solid and violent? Do they look fluid and confident? Are they in position to make play? Ducks hung 70 on EW, held them to 14. Looks like an absolute beat down. But we all learned the past few years that points and records aren't always satisfying. Don't always tell the whole story. I was at a wedding yesterday and didn't get to watch game to closely. Had it on my phone and missed a lot of the tells and nuances to get a good read on the game performance. Felt and looked, from what I could see, that Oregon has a ways to go. They still didn't pass the eye test of top 10 football. But like I said, I was handicapped and could be wrong. BYU is going to be a great test. Another week for Lanning to coach and raise the level of play for OBD. Win or lose, the process will be fun to watch.
  11. At a wedding in Bend. Trying to catch as much as I can. O line has been solid. Opened up some nice lanes for big chunks in the run game.
  12. I said it before but I believe UGA could very well be the best team in history before this season ends. What Dawgs did to Oregon will repeat over and over this season.
  13. Longhorns aren't intimidated by Bama. They are bringing some pain. Unranked and tied at 10. Amazing what a little effort and toughness will do.
  14. One of the best things I have done for myself. Harmonizing with other players is a great feeling. Like watching a perfectly tuned Defense.
  15. I started playing guitar in January. Already playing with other musicians. Old dog learned a new trick
  16. Starting to appear that Nix doesn't stand a chance. Many Oregon Fan will never accept Nix as the starter. Every mistake Nix makes will be be magnified by many. Tough spot to be in. Nix will be eviscerated week in and week out by critics and so called experts. Looks like it could become daily sport. In my opinion, no matter who starts, outside of TT or Butters, wouldn't stand a chance with a lot of Oregon fan. Seems Oregon fan is done with transfers no matter who they are. Understandable with the lack of homegrown development of Duck QB's the past 8 or so years. I hope Nix balls out the rest of the year and proves them wrong. I am pretty indifferent on who start but Nix has taken a beating since he showed up on campus. So I am going to root for him and defend him. He is our QB and I will get behind him and cheer him on. I am just that way, stand in the gap kinda guy. Maybe Oregon can recruit and develop a QB from scratch someday. Doesn't seem to be an Oregon thing as of late. Nix isn't to blame for that but he will probably take the beating from it. Is what it is. Go Ducks! Go Nix!
  17. Tight coverage for sure. You might be right about Nix reading coverages. 2nd Int makes the case. It wasn't a perfect throw. Seven still could have made the play. At least incomplete. Starks is a true freshman who made a great play as well. I can't put it all Nix
  18. Are they expecting strong winds in Eugene through Saturday? Game is late in the day so thats helpful.
  19. Valid point on Dilly making that call. I do however, think Dilly will make that call again. Seven is a burner and I like that Oregon took the shot. I think a lot of Duck fans are fatigued with QB play of late. With all around offensive play for that matter. Could be unfair to Nix, but Duck fan might pull the chord quick. Some it appears, already have. I am going to try and give Bo a long leash. I think he deserves it. Too many new variables on this Duck team. With all the complexities of the new everything, I don't think its wise to make strong opinion or scapegoat any one on this team. After say WSU, then yeah, hell fire will be in order. This coaching staff saw what everyone else saw. I am going to give them an opportunity to grow and get better before I filet their backside. But man, I so badly wanted them to be competitive against UGA. They weren't, few are. Go Ducks!
  20. It was a little under thrown. My take is the receiver has as much the responsibility to adjust to the ball and box out the defenders. I just dont think Nix should take all the blame. Especially when a true freshman (I think), at full speed, recognizes ball placement, adjusts, leaves his feet and makes the catch. Just an amazing defensive play.
