Just Ducky

There is no denying that MarnoO was a good recruiter. However he couldn’t coach a lick. He has still not convinced many in Miami that he can. IMO DL and his group of coaches are committed to a style of collecting players to fit the needs of the team as Charles mentioned earlier. I think this is a much more successful approach. If we can keep this nucleus of coaches together for a longer period maybe we can get over that final hump, as difficult as it is, and get the prize. Chip taught us one thing for sure, you can be a mediocre recruiter and still have big results if you get the write guys and be creative with your game plan.

Nice mix of ages for this team, my biggest concern however is about qb 2. Can this kid come out of his shell and put the ball in front of his receivers. So far he has been unable to do that. He has a solid arm so hopefully Stein can work him thru it. Go Ducks.

Sad but true.

If we compare what happened last year with this year the defense must be vastly improved. If the D is stopping a very potent offense in practice that is an encouraging sign to me. It is true Charles that DL gives us very little in his press conference but I think that is becoming the norm. Seems like we get better stuff from the assistants and that’s might be where the reporters should spend more time. Can’t wait till the first game so we can see for ourselves.

IMHO you talk to your team with passion not the media. Little over the top I think.

A reward for learning and listening will always be appreciated by the coaches. Hopefully our new ducks will get the message and with winning the celebration can resume.

There are several Craft Beer Breweries in Eugene that I’m sure would be interested in promoting The Ducks. Wonder if anyone has ever approached them. How bout a little Puddles Porter, Autzen Stout, Lupoi IPA to go along with Lanning Lager. Available by the pitcher of course.

Pretty weird. I live across the river from the park and I never heard any sirens or commotion Sunday and I was home all day. Lots of people cooling off.

The remaining pack? Teams will all have a CHIP on their shoulders so be ready for a fight every game. This might be the toughest year to make the playoffs in the pack yet. Not only is a trip through the top 5 teams a gauntlet so will be the Community College Schools. LOL I dread to think of the cheap shots that will be coming from a lot of these players. Especially WSU

One thing is for sure, if the trolls are freaking out it will spill down to the athletes. It always does.

Lot of folks don’t like Bill but I think he is a breath of fresh air amongst all the bs that flies out of the mouths of sports writers and the east coast bias’s. Off topic a little but the school with the most nattys in college sports is now floundering around with no where to swim. Very sad in deed.

It’s obvious I’ve lived way too long. The schools west of Mississippi have been dealt a death blow. Never to be relevant again in college sports. We will live with horrible schedules and most road games will be a disaster. The powers of the league won’t send their flagship programs to get their butt whooped at Autzen or Lake Washington to go home with a loss in the near future. Whatever credibility our top 4 schools in the pack ? have learned over several generations now has to be re-earned. That will be a steep hill to climb for all involved down to the mascot. Maybe the Nike swoosh can save us because these are dark times my friends. OH IMHO

I totally agree with you David and have this whole process. The Ducks will be fine, loosing the LA schools is undoubtedly a financial blow, but the Ducks will continue to roll without them. However, not being able to butt whip them will be a blow to all our psyche for sure. Colorado quite frankly was a joke. Colorado State had more viewers last season. Football isn’t the only sport for the Ducks and I enjoy watching all of them. Not getting a natty in football is not worth, for me anyway, loosing these non revenue sports. I’m a traditionalist and loosing the pack would not set well at my dinner table.

People have paid big money to blue sky hopefuls for as long as I can remember in all sports. Once in a while you hit the jackpot but more often it’s a failure. From what I’ve seen so far he deserves the risk. Except for a couple bonehead plays last year he is 11 and 1 and possibly headed to the final four. With the kind of energy he brings to the program in Eugene how can we not make this investment. Hopefully he can take us to the promised land and get us in the show at least one more time. Definitely a risk worth taking.

This can only help to recruit top notch pitching which we all know is the key to wining against the big boys.

Can’t read the article. Colorado’s viewership was lower than all but one pack member last year. Colorado state earned more viewership. I realize prime time will move the needle a bit but it will eventually fall back after loosing most of their games this season. This move makes little to no sense unless they drag a quality pack team with them.

Colorado has been swirling in their own poop pool for quite some time now. Poor leadership I guess.
