  1. Definitely could have been a career killer for DeBoer if he stayed and it gets out that he knew. It could still come back to bite him at 'Bama. This kind of news tends to not age well for those in positions of influence who had the ability to act differently yet chose not to.
  2. I've always agreed with this. Black just makes the stadium look empty! A big game like Ohio State in Autzen with a sea of yellow would look second to none!
  3. With Chip solely focused on the offense at tOSU, I believe we will see a very run-heavy scheme, with the addition of Quinshon Judkins, complimented with field general type play from the QB. He isn't going to rely on the QB to make game breaking throws; he never has. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if his offense doesn't look too dissimilar from the Oregon offense that marched into the 'shoe in 2021 and walked away with a W. We need to be prepared to limit what looks to be a very downhill offense. I'm hoping the Autzen factor will come in to play against the Buckeyes when they come to town. I believe CK as an OC is going to look very different from CK as UCLA's HC.
  4. Hated the Raiders with Josh McDaniel; he clearly lost the locker room. Really liking their cohesiveness under Antonio Pierce and Bo would fit in great there. I'd still root for the Raiders to lose twice a season though to another former Duck QB!
  5. He also doesn't seem understand that the B1G itself will have better brand appeal with Oregon under their banner. Their board of regents unanimously agreed upon that fact prior to accepting Oregon as a member. I don't see a scenario in the next decade where the Ducks don't make the playoffs. They don't have to win the conference to get in. Heck, some years they don't even have to be the 2nd best team in the conference to make it!
  6. Do you hate Michigan? Yep! Do you hate Washington? Yep! Do you wanna go do karate in the garage? Yep!
  7. I think this was definitely to be expected especially for our B1G debut. I'm excited to see what we come out with. In my opinion the uniforms should reflect the culture currently in place; which is one of strength, intimidation, determination, and skill. Our uniforms of the 2000s, and teens reflected a very finesse team that was based almost purely on speed and agility. Our teams no longer have to rely on being the fastest on the field to win. We can run out on to the field these days knowing we almost always boast a stronger, larger, more physically fit team that will win any way it takes. Our uniforms should reflect this philosophy!

  9. Sky was full of ice crystals this morning here in Redmond. Got some cool light pillars on the drive to work!
  10. He must've shared secrets with Joe Lombardi then!
  11. Looks like Pete Thamel has the inside scoop on this. Tulane is an offense that wants to push the ball downfield. Best of luck to TT!
  12. Haha I just realized what I wrote. I'm recovering from a flu and clearly not as sharp yet as I thought I was!
  13. The SEC builds depth on their rosters better than any other conference, including the B1G. Lanning must've taken great notes while at Georgia because it won't be long before this team resembles the juggernaut that might win it all for the 3rd time in a row. It took Kirby longer to build his team into a contender! This is especially important now more than ever as we head into the 12 team playoff. Depth will determine how far teams make it. With a longer post season, players WILL get hurt. The team that is better equipped to replace their starters without missing a beat is the team that wins it all; and Oregon is stacking dudes.
  14. After being snubbed on the Biletnikoff and still finishing the season as a top receiver in the nation I can't say I blame him. He owes it to himself to have the best chance possible in the draft. It would be great to see him drafted above other Biletnikoff finalists.
  15. I like Ty and his development. It's obvious he's made great strides between his prior time at Oregon and this season. But has he made enough of a leap to give us confidence that he can lead this team to a B1G championship? What bothers me is the same thing another member remarked on the other day, his body language. To me he doesn't exude confidence. You can be a quiet leader and still show confidence in your abilities (Justin Herbert). Gabriel is a baller through and through. He comes across as a combination of Vernon Adams and Bo Nix. He's definitely a guy who can amp the team up when the game is on the line and get a little extra juice out of all the guys to do what's needed. If Ty can't compete at that level then we have our answer at starter. Moore seems like he's been taken down a peg or two in the arrogance category and sees the value of development. I said in an earlier post that if he was willing to swallow that pill and allow himself to be built the proper way then I think there is absolutely a place on the team for him. We wanted him to begin with.
  16. Looks like the details have been worked out to continue the Civil War for next season and beyond. With all the drama OSU has brought on this season, do we really want this going forward? https://www.si.com/college/oregon/football/oregon-vs-oregon-state-rivalry-will-continue-in-2024-and-beyond-per-report
  17. I bet Arroyo serves more of an eye in the booth capacity on gamedays. Wouldn't surprise me of KD is calling the plays on the sidelines.
  18. If he is Vernon Adams Pt 2 without the injuries we are going places!
  19. Report: Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel to Visit Oregon, Ducks 'Favorite' to Land QB BLEACHERREPORT.COM The Oregon Ducks had a Heisman Trophy finalist at quarterback in Bo Nix this season. And they may already have their next signal-caller lined up. ESPN's Pete…
  20. If we really want to go the NFL Lite route, then by allowing schools to directly control the NIL deals they should insert clauses that incentivize players to stay. There should be language written in that says "you get X amount as long as you are a scholarship player". The NIL deals should come with owed buy-outs should a player choose to transfer. These deals can and should be treated like contracts. If a school forks out 2-3 million for a QB just to watch him transfer a year, or even two later, then he should owe a portion back. The transfer portal era is so wildly uncontrolled and players are taking maximum advantage. There is no reason a school can't use the money in the NIL deals they are offering to their players to take advantage as well. It's only a matter of time before the legality of this is figured out.
  21. Wouldn't surprise me if Lanning liked him as an addition to the QB room for competition purposes. He is certainly lacking from an experience standpoint. But we do not need to go looking for another Bo Nix (not to mention they likely don't exist anymore). If we take a transfer it should be to raise the level of the competition in the room and hopefully allow one of our homegrown guys to rise to the top. If the guy wins it then we can be sure the offense is in good hands. P.S. It sure sounds like Kentucky is the team to beat for Vandagriff
  22. BREAKING: Washington State QB Cam Ward announces transfer to Oregon Ducks SPORTS.YAHOO.COM The Ducks have a new QB in the mix for 2024. Former Washington State QB Cameron Ward is coming to Eugene.
