Deion Declares: "No Wonder OBD Did So Well Last Year"
Babyjesus615 replied to criticalduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Colorado under Deion was a joke in the PAC and now the Big 12 is about to find out why. I'd love to see him try and get mouthy before playing Oklahoma St. at home on November 29th just to have Mike Gundy and Co. put him in his place. -

Pac-2 Merger With Mountain West In Jeopardy?
Babyjesus615 replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Both teams, but especially Beavis, are operating under the "Titanic mentality." They really do believe that the conference (in name only) is simply too big to sink. As time passes this ship will only continue to take on more water. All the while, the presidents and athletic directors exude confidence to the fanbase that they'll soon be reforming the Pac-12 or joining their former brethren in a power conference They'll only be convinced of the truth after time has run out in 2026; after having exhausted all the funds that they stole, are told a resounding NO by the MWC and other mid-major conferences. A new schedule of Big Sky and NAIA opponents is then revealed as the killing blow. -
The Beavs and the Cougs may have a war-chest of money at their disposal; but to spend on what if nobody wants them? Could their public desire to join a flagging ACC or an expanded Big 12 have given doubt to the presidents of their borrowed conference about their commitment? Or do they just plain have no meaningful value? Washington State, Oregon State Reportedly In Serious Trouble As Future Plans In Doubt WWW.OUTKICK.COM Washington State and Oregon State might be in big trouble when it comes to future plans.

These with a design callback to the 2013-14 unis on a yell-O night would make the fanbase go berzerk!

Oregon Ducks Announce Which Players Will Represent At Big Ten Media Days WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks football program will send linebacker Jeffrey Bassa, tight end Terrance Ferguson, and transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel to Big Ten Media Days

Pretty decent write up on the trajectory of the program. But one final hurdle remains in order to truly join the elite. I read somewhere that we don't legally join the conference until 8/02/2024. So they can't make announcements until then.

Even with additional parking spots I'd still park at the "building under the bridge" IYKYK; and walk any day. Always spots, great tailgating, and you gain 5 to 8 new friends by the time you hit the Mo!

Fox Sports analyst RJ Young seems more like he's hoping for Dillon Gabriel to struggle with Oregon's debut season in the B1G. He also happens to be a big fan of Ohio State. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/rj-young-foresees-dillon-gabriel-struggle-oregon-2024-college-football-season

Dillon Gabriel: "Lost a Bit of Zip on His Throws" ???
Babyjesus615 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Hilarious anti-Gabriel propaganda. I watched the OU-Texas game last year. The guy could not miss. He was putting balls wherever he wanted on the field. This was all post-injury . In the Spring Game, if the broadcast would have blurred out DG and only showed the ball leaving his hands you would've swore it was Bo Nix out there. I'm not worried about his production one bit. -
Delta Adding Flights to Help Buckeye Fans Come to Autzen
Babyjesus615 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Didn't United add a nonstop to Columbus when we played there a few years back? -
USuCk on paper should be a much more well rounded team than last season; even losing Caleb Williams. They will probably have a serviceable defense. If this was the PAC I might give them and Oregon the highest odds to win. However, this is the B1G. SC has an absolute meat grinder of a schedule this season. I give myself better odds at winning Powerball than I do USC to win the conference. Oregon has built itself into a physical, yet skilled team, in order to play in a physical conference. USC has simply tried to make itself more closely resemble its successful teams of old. FYI USC...those teams still played in the PAC! The B1G is going to gnaw the meat right off their bones; and without sufficient depth to replace losses to injury, this team will be relegated to another 8-5 season.

Washington Player Arrested, Charged with Rape
Babyjesus615 replied to anyotherduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Definitely could have been a career killer for DeBoer if he stayed and it gets out that he knew. It could still come back to bite him at 'Bama. This kind of news tends to not age well for those in positions of influence who had the ability to act differently yet chose not to. -
Oregon Ducks Announce 2024 Weekly Color Scheme for Fans

I've always agreed with this. Black just makes the stadium look empty! A big game like Ohio State in Autzen with a sea of yellow would look second to none! -
Spring Questions for the 18 B1G Teams
Babyjesus615 replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
With Chip solely focused on the offense at tOSU, I believe we will see a very run-heavy scheme, with the addition of Quinshon Judkins, complimented with field general type play from the QB. He isn't going to rely on the QB to make game breaking throws; he never has. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if his offense doesn't look too dissimilar from the Oregon offense that marched into the 'shoe in 2021 and walked away with a W. We need to be prepared to limit what looks to be a very downhill offense. I'm hoping the Autzen factor will come in to play against the Buckeyes when they come to town. I believe CK as an OC is going to look very different from CK as UCLA's HC.- 1 reply

Hated the Raiders with Josh McDaniel; he clearly lost the locker room. Really liking their cohesiveness under Antonio Pierce and Bo would fit in great there. I'd still root for the Raiders to lose twice a season though to another former Duck QB!
-
He also doesn't seem understand that the B1G itself will have better brand appeal with Oregon under their banner. Their board of regents unanimously agreed upon that fact prior to accepting Oregon as a member. I don't see a scenario in the next decade where the Ducks don't make the playoffs. They don't have to win the conference to get in. Heck, some years they don't even have to be the 2nd best team in the conference to make it!

Sweet Rumor: The Oregon Brand is at WORK!
Babyjesus615 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think this was definitely to be expected especially for our B1G debut. I'm excited to see what we come out with. In my opinion the uniforms should reflect the culture currently in place; which is one of strength, intimidation, determination, and skill. Our uniforms of the 2000s, and teens reflected a very finesse team that was based almost purely on speed and agility. Our teams no longer have to rely on being the fastest on the field to win. We can run out on to the field these days knowing we almost always boast a stronger, larger, more physically fit team that will win any way it takes. Our uniforms should reflect this philosophy! -
