Mario Lost His OC, and now his Defensive Coordinator Too?
The donors in Miami have to be looking at this like the lit fuse on a firework that just fell sideways pointing towards the rest of them. While the fire from the fuse is small, it is very visible and there is likely little anybody can do to stop it from eventually blowing up in their faces.

Bo Nix News from a Bar: I Can't Make This Stuff Up!
I have witnessed some of the most entertaining and egregious Duck football "news" of all time in a bar. A guy told me once he was the uncle of Tyler Shough and that Mario Cristobal personally told him he was the second coming of Mariota. A girl told me she loved being in classes at the U of O with Justin Herbert in 2021. I asked if she meant 2019 and she said "No I only was enrolled for 2 months but I had classes with him in '21".

PAC-12 QBs Get Even Stronger: Jaden Rashada to ASU
Not sold on Rashada at all. His loyalty holds about as much weight as my keyboard. Wouldn't at all be surprised if he sits a year, watches the team not make bowl eligibility, then splits for greener (money reference) pastures.

USC Fans Are....a Little Salty Over Pleasant
First the "men" of Troy whimpered about their 2023 schedule. Now the boys are crying about losing a recruit out of their backyard. I guess not every skilled kid from Cali wants to be fed to the meat grinder of Big 10 talent and Big 10 weather in 2024!

Mario Fires Josh Gattis After One Year
My hope is that Gattis takes a head coaching job in the ACC a few years down the road. Just in time to deliver the loss that puts Cristobal on unemployment!

Justin Herbert Contract Prediction...Wowza!
Chargers' hefty price tag for Justin Herbert extension revealed BOLTBEAT.COM The LA Chargers have some business to take care of with Justin Herbert and just received the bill. 10 years $510 million! Justin Herbert is looking like he's headed towards the largest football contract ever conceived. Perks of moving the team to Los Angeles I guess. But if you are Herbert do you really want to hitch your wagon to the Chargers for the next decade? What are your thought?

Best Returning QB in Every Conference for 2023
These guys are absolutely in his league and will most likely beat him and USC this year. And guess what? We don't even have to wait for the Pac 12 Championship game to see it. All 3 QBs play USC in the regular season. 2023 will definitely not be kind to USC's win total

Report: OL Coach Adrian Klemm to Interview for OC Job with New England Patriots
Everything I'm reading sounds like the Patriots are going all out for Bill O'Brien. He and Belichick are close and it sounds like the interest is mutual. I don't mean this to sound insensitive but the Rooney Rule applies to offensive coordinators as well as head coaching searches.

OSU QB transferring to Ohio State
Gebbia has said multiple times he wants to coach. This would be a way to get his foot in the door for a Grad Assistant position when he exhausts his eligibility. The guy will have been around college football for 7 years by the time he is done playing. He's not afraid of losing the battle to be a starter, he's more concerned with seeing how the big boys play. He'll be coaching QBs or calling plays by the end of the decade.

Who Needs the Pros With a 13Mil NIL?
Texas A&M is probably driving a bank truck to his house as we speak. No amount of money is off the table in East Texas. Those boys would buy Christiano Ronaldo if they thought they could kick 20 field goals a game and win.

Justin Herbert is STILL in the Game in the 2nd Half!?
Justin Herbert is still playing in the 2nd half of a game that is completely inconsequential. As a matter of fact, all of the Chargers starters are. Locked into the 5th seed in the playoff (most likely against Jacksonville). Is Staley actively trying to get himself fired in order to collect unemployment? If Herbert gets hurt I'd oblige him...😡

Canzano: Putting a Conspiracy Theory to Rest
I don't buy it. Speaking in hindsight about your commitment to Oregon is very easy and expected if you are Dilly; no one would know otherwise. Do I believe he was committed to the Ducks until the second he walked out of Reser? Absolutely. However, only a robot could sit in the box while calling a game and not have thoughts of a new head coaching gig, getting introduced in 24 hours, meeting players, etc... At least he didn't give up on his team like Cristobal did when he found out 2/3 of the way through the season that he was going to bail

Oregon Will Face Its Former Starting Quarterback in 2023...Tyler Shough
Kid saw Matayo sign with Oregon as was like, "well I never got to feel Thibs hit me at 100% while I was lined up against him, here's my chance!"

Justin Herbert/Chargers Are Going to the Playoffs!
So excited for Herb! Short of getting to the Super Bowl, one thing is very clear, Joe Lombardi needs to be gone next season. Heck, Shane Steichen did more with Herbert in one season than Lombardi. He is trying too hard to pretend this is 2018 New Orleans. The Chargers have way more offensive talent than that, Herbert has a better arm than Brees, and the team is in a brutal division. I vote Frank Reich for OC!

More Signing Day Drama?

Jurrion Dickey Flipping?
Good lord. This is what happens when the nation decides to give 17-18 year old kids the media spotlight. He already said about a month ago that he wasn't sure he was going to sign during the early signing period. If he announces a "signing date" that is as good as him saying he is going to be considering other schools. That's the only reason to push it out; and if that's the case, byeeeeeee! We are stacked at WR already and Ashton Cozart will be a dude. The only question that remains is whether or not he actually wants to play for a team that will compete for conference championships every year (and by extension playoff spots) or a bad team in ASU that might only taste success in his final year of eligibility.

Who Fills Out Oregon's QB Room Behind Bo Nix in 2023?
I get the feeling that Ty knows he needs the development; otherwise he'd have been the first QB gone from the "progrum". This, to me, actually says a lot about his mindset on the team. He wants to learn as much as he can, develop the chemistry needed with the players, and hopefully become a leader. As for everything else, I believe the pieces will fall in place. We are a destination school for QBs and that's not lost on prospects. If Hudson Card is totally fine with sitting another year under someone, knowing his prospects the following season to be the starter are good, then by all means bring him on board. Even with the transfer portal circus I still believe a team needs to take a prep QB every year. A guy from a high school developing into a starter is the calling card of a truly good OC/QB coach. I am excited for what Will Stein may bring but I want to see him earn his money's worth.

Today's Pac-12 Bowl Updates
30-0 Beavs right now. They are going to get a transfer QB in the off-season to compete with Gulbranson (who looks good). This team is going to be good next season.

Omigosh! A Transfer QB Visited Oregon? Hicks Momentum Building?
Seems like the staff is trying to stay as quiet as possible regarding the transfer portal at the QB position until early signing day. I get the feeling Dante Moore wants to think he has a solid chance to start next year. Pulling the trigger on a big name transfer could be the deciding factor if he truly is weighing his options. Hudson Card, I believe, would do very well in the Will Stein/Dillingham offense. However, I think Dante Moore knows that bringing a guy like Card in to play with the current talent on offense all but assures he sits as a back-up for a season (which is usually a good thing). In this day and age, freshman are getting handed the keys more and more often. I see Moore as a guy who wants the keys now. This is the equivalent of trying to find the thick ice on the lake to cross as you walk but you're too far out to turn back. 😬

Are You Kidding Me? Slick Willie and Prime?
This is the closest that Slick will get to a Power 5 program again. He might as well drink up every moment of it. Going to love seeing his face as a full blown Lanning defense shreds the Colorado offense and gets him relieved of any meaningful responsibilities on the team.
