  1. Lanning and his staff are warming up with this recruiting class. With the players that have already committed, adding a 5* QB, and a 5* RB may set Eugene on fire.
  2. The recruiting shift is noticeable. This coaching staff is brand new and have many top recruits coming in for visits. I guarantee there is hours of work that goes into getting these guys on campus. It would have been easy to write off last years recruiting class and perhaps this year because of an unproven head coach with a new staff. These guys hit the ground running and are doing a great job. They deserve recognition for their work. Lanning and his staff are impressing me, and starting to make some other PAC 12 coaches and fans nervous about having to compete for recruits with Oregon.
  3. Crazy geographic changes in the PAC 12, especially for football. One week you can be playing in tee shirt and shorts weather, and the next you could be playing at high altitude in a snow storm. Always fun to have one of the sunshine teams show up at Autzen for a game in a nice afternoon, or evening rain storm. Yes…almost anything can happen.
  4. Trying to generate more revenue for the conference will probably rely on football broadcasting rights. An agreement for crossover games with another conference where broadcasting rights are sold as a package seems like a viable option. While athletic budgets continue to escalate, some Universities may question their ability and sanity of trying to compete in many sports. I think many of the problems that are faced by athletic departments are complex and are just not easily solved.
  5. Unfortunate. It is nice that we do not need to scroll through pages and pages of insults and attacks. Thanks to all that invest their time to moderate this forum. However, if there is ever an amnesty day, I think I have a few “colorful metaphors” in my back pocket to help describe those PAC 12 teams that wear purple, or orange.
  6. Barring injuries we will have a very good defense. We really got hit hard with injuries last year at the linebacker positions. Give our defense a little time to get used to the new defensive scheme and I think they get much better. I look forward to see what Lanning and Company can do with our defensive roster.
  7. I think we have guys that will give most PAC 12 teams problems. It will be interesting to see who we land on as our feature back this year. The nice thing is that we have good depth and looks like we can easily have three backs rotating into a game if necessary.
  8. First game out for Lanning is the defending National Champions. Ironic that it is Georgia. It would be beyond my expectations that Oregon beats them. Our QB and OL play will definitely dictate whether the Ducks have the ability to beat these guys. Offensively, the Ducks are solid. However, not one player on offense really stands out right now for Oregon. Collectively, they will all need to play solid football. Defensively, I expect good things. However, with a new defensive scheme I expect some growth pains against a team the caliber of Georgia. Are they good enough to beat Georgia in Atlanta? It certainly is not expected based upon the spread. However, we do have a good team with talented players that have nothing to lose. Georgia will be tough, but Oregon will also be a dangerous team for them to play.
  9. How fun would it be to watch Nix finally beat Georgia? It would be ironic if Ashford becomes Auburns starting QB.
  10. There is that company that had sales of around $45 billion last year that seems to like the Ducks.
  11. Superman was impressive.
  12. Place your bets…
  13. Just because Duck fans views are far superior to most fans of other teams doesn’t mean we have to lower ourselves to their levels.
  14. Getting a commitment from a solid QB, another top RB, with a few big bodies thrown in would be great additions. Ducks apparently have five 5 star prospects visiting campus over the next two weeks. This coaching staff is getting after it on the “recruiting trail”. They are setting a great example for the entire team by working hard to get their type of guys to visit the Oregon campus and football program. These guys are bringing energy to Eugene. Great work so far coaches. A few more commits will build momentum that many top players will notice.
  15. The Ducks rise to a legit title contender will probably coincide with a Heisman candidate at QB, or RB. Both the offensive and defensive schemes are new for the players. Therefore, I expect some time for everyone to get things dialed in. A high percentage of top recruits has Oregon in their top 5 teams. With a good showing this season the coaching staff builds upon our recruiting momentum. From there I think this coaching staff is fully capable of getting the Ducks to the CFP.
  16. The Ducks got pummeled at home. I won’t even mention the team. Never needs to see the light of day again.
  17. Ducks need to beat Georgia, average +40 pts/game, then beat a highly ranked media darling USC team for the PAC 12 Championship (Ducks have already throttled a highly ranked Utah at home and put them out of PAC title contention). Stranger things have happened. I can be a cup half full guy. Kind of stinks to say zero chance before any snap of the ball has taken place. Bo Nix starts and finishes the season and accomplishes those things, then he is in the conversation.
  18. Go look up Legarrette and tell him he is lying….lol
  19. Tough situation. I always thought that Blount was reacting to a racist comment from that kid. There should have been punishment of that BS moron as well. When he states that “This ain’t about football no more” , I agree 100%.
  20. Need to coach him up regarding the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for spinning the football in college : )
  21. Btw…the panic attack by that cat is hilarious. Good luck trying to ever give that thing a bath.
  22. Thanks for information. Some of those jumps which I assume is in the Alps are amazing. He looks very comfortable literally flying down that mountain. What he is doing is incredibly difficult, and he makes it look easy.
  23. Not familiar with this guy, but watched this recently and this guy is definitely an incredible athlete. This guy can ski EVERYTHING. Next ski season give some of these tricks a try…
